Sometimes a knight in shining armor wears a Stetson
Seven years ago, as a young cop, Darius Franklin saved a vulnerable woman from a violent situation. They shared one night of pure passion before she walked away. Now Darius is a wealthy rancher and security contractor working at a women's shelter. And he's shocked to meet the new social worker: Summer Martindale, a beautiful damsel no longer in distress.
Darius has never been able to forget that night - or forgive Summer for the pain she caused him when she left. And he's suspicious of why she's suddenly in his part of Texas. But neither can deny the desire still crackling between them. When Summer's life is once again threatened, Darius knows he can protect her only if he stays very close to her....

This was a real eye opener, and a major overall preformance and story.
I tried to give it a 5 star but the more I tried the more it stayed at 4 star rating! I hope this a accident, and nothing more!
As usually Brenda Jackson wrote another great novel. It contains suspense and twist turns. But if that like by the end she was rushed to meet a deadline and had to stop the book immediately. There was still some things that were mentioned a book they want unanswered. And it seemed like it was developed to have a different ending if it had just a few more chapters to go.
I love the fact friends can sometimes make the best lovers.
His male voices were fine and had a good tone. While his females voice were awful and almost sounded like his voice shook at some parts of the book. It almost caused me to put the book aside and not complete it.
