Publisher's summary

Jocelyn Butler has been hiding from her past for years. But all her secrets are about to be laid bare…

Four years ago, Jocelyn left her tragic past behind in the States and started over in Scotland, burying her grief, ignoring her demons, and forging ahead without attachments. Her solitary life is working well - until she moves into a new apartment on Dublin Street where she meets a man who shakes her carefully guarded world to its core.

Braden Carmichael is used to getting what he wants, and he’s determined to get Jocelyn into his bed. Knowing how skittish she is about entering a relationship, Braden proposes an arrangement that will satisfy their intense attraction without any strings attached.

But after an intrigued Jocelyn accepts, she realizes that Braden won’t be satisfied with just mind-blowing passion. The stubborn Scotsman is intent on truly knowing her...down to the very soul.

Good Listen.

Overall, this book was worth a listen. My only criticisms are that the sex scenes seem to become repetitious and almost boring after awhile and Braden, the main male character, uses the "F" word in every sentence--as an adjective, verb, and expletive. I finally had to start laughing because his ability to express himself was so limited by his reliance on variations that word. Actually, the female character's vocabulary wasn't much more extensive. I don't mind use of four letter words, but they lose their effectiveness when they are an integral part of every sentence.

One of my favorites

This is one of my favorite books. Hearing a story of a strong, independent but broken woman being swept off her feet despite her will to stay alone... it's just amazing. The subplots and secondary characters are just as good as the main storyline.

Paula Costello did such a good job with so many accents and male characters on top of female. Couldn't have been an easy job.

Awesome book

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

I would definitely recommend this book. It was very well written and narrated. Sometimes it is really irritating when a female narrator speaks for a male character, but this book was done very well and I loved the accents. I listened to it a second time. Will definately look for more from this author.

Who was your favorite character and why?

Braden of course. He was strong and caring but also vulnerable and oh so sexy!

Have you listened to any of Paula Costello’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

No, but I will look for more from her.

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

Too many to mention.

Love this story and the series that follows

What made the experience of listening to On Dublin Street the most enjoyable?

The writing, the narration... Scotland! This story brings it all together. there were a few moments when I wanted to slap Joss upside the back of the head, but I am thoroughly won over.

What did you like best about this story?

I can't even narrow it down... I love the alpha, love the fact that Joss gives as good as she gets, love the backdrop of Scotland. Any time I am done with a book and inspired to look things up on line to see what they are writing about or get more details, I know it was a success.

What does Paula Costello bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

A Scottish accent. :-) She is a very good narrator and manages to keep the story flowing through different characters, sexes, and accents. It is impressive.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

yes definitely

Any additional comments?

If you get this book you will want to check out the rest of the series!

Listening was even better than reading this book

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

I have already recommended this book to several co-workers and friends, The way Joycelyn was dealing with her grief was so sad and they way she opened her heart to the people around her without realizing it was great to listen to.

What was one of the most memorable moments of On Dublin Street?

The way Braden made Joceyln realize she couldn't run from his sisters health problems. I also liked how he made her realize she couldn't hide her love from him.

Which character – as performed by Paula Costello – was your favorite?

Braden was definitely my favorite character. The narrator did a wonderful job, every character had their own voice and it wasnt confusing at all.

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

This book made me both laugh and cry a few times

Enjoyable

What did you love best about On Dublin Street?

Braden was the best character.

Which scene was your favorite?

I have several favorite scenes- most socking was the bar fight and the most funny was the fart.

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

I did have extreme reaction to parts of the book. The main character (Jocelyn) became annoying towards the end, but I loved Braden's character so much that it kept my interest. Also I read Down London Road first (which is book 2) and liked Jocelyn much more in that book. I tolerated my annoyance through the end.

My mouth dropped open at the bar fight.

Any additional comments?

I liked the interaction between the characters.

Cute story

I enjoyed the narrator and the story. Some of it was a tad cheesy, and parts were predictable. Good story overall and a nice happy ending.

Not as good as Fifty Shades

Another story, what tried to ride the waves what Fifty Shades generated.
Over all it was entertaining, but no match to the 50 trilogy.
