Publisher's summary

Jocelyn Butler has been hiding from her past for years. But all her secrets are about to be laid bare…

Four years ago, Jocelyn left her tragic past behind in the States and started over in Scotland, burying her grief, ignoring her demons, and forging ahead without attachments. Her solitary life is working well - until she moves into a new apartment on Dublin Street where she meets a man who shakes her carefully guarded world to its core.

Braden Carmichael is used to getting what he wants, and he’s determined to get Jocelyn into his bed. Knowing how skittish she is about entering a relationship, Braden proposes an arrangement that will satisfy their intense attraction without any strings attached.

But after an intrigued Jocelyn accepts, she realizes that Braden won’t be satisfied with just mind-blowing passion. The stubborn Scotsman is intent on truly knowing her...down to the very soul.

Fantastic Surprise

This is the first novel that I have read/listened to by this author and I am now a fan. It had humor, romance, sex and an alpha male. The narration was fantastic. I have not listen to many books with characters that have accents. Paula Costello did an amazing job of bring the characters to life. My husband came into the room and wanted to know what I was grinning at. The book had me doing this all the way through. I laughed out loud through many parts. Jocelyn has a weird, neurotic personality but still does not come across as weak and useless. There was some good steamy sex scenes but not overkill. If you like books like Sylvia Day's "Bared To You", then you will like this one. I could have listened to it in one sitting but alas work got in the way. I love books where there is sarcastic dialogue and funny characters. I will definitely check out her next book to see how that one plays out. I will also look up other narrations by Paula.

Hard to separate thoughts from speach...

...something I think other reviewers have mentioned before. Narrator did a good job with the accents though.

I didn't really warm up to the main character, what with all the "I know I'm wrecking my own life and the life of those I love by making this decision, but I will make it anyway since I really want to be miserable". I get that she's had a tragic past but come on! She doesn't have to make it worse by consciously sabotaging her own happiness.

This was going to be a positive review, but guess I dind't like this book as much as I initially thought. Got a warm feeling while listening, but after a week or two I can't remember why.

Steamy, adult content

Loved the Irish accents in the narration. Paula Costello did an excellent job. The story was sexy, but predictable. Boy meets girl, girl has issues, attraction builds, girl denies her feelings, boy chases, etc., etc. The characters were interesting, but not complex. Plenty of emotional ups and downs, humor and a little angst.

It was a good story

But what really hit it out of the park was the narration. Paula Costello’s male Scottish accent was brilliant. The best I’ve ever heard. She should narrate every book with Scottish characters. As for the story, it was good... the usual “I’m too broken to be loved” trope, but good none the less.

Just okay

I was hoping for something that really grabbed my attention. This was a good story with likable characters but it wasn't the kind of story that you lose sleep over.
It was a nice lighthearted romance.

Worth Five Credits--for just one credit, wow!

Would you consider the audio edition of On Dublin Street to be better than the print version?

How can you even compare, this reader was just excellent, accents and characters were done perfectly. I never listen to a book more than once, but this one I did and heard even more sutle drama the second listen....great job.

Who was your favorite character and why?

Braden, what a man! We are all in love with Braden, my sister, my daughter, my grandmother and toss me in there too. Even my grandmother said he would give grandpa a run for the money! Someone invent a time machine so I can go back before he falls for Jos.... If they make them like that in Scotland, my daughter is saving for a long vacation...

Which scene was your favorite?

Ellie's diagnosis was really an emotional part of the story. When Jos and Ellie cried themselves to sleep like little girls, and this part of the story was very dear. It truly caught the closeness of two dear girl friends who care for each other...

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

I could not stop listening to it, talk about missing sleep...and carrying around your iPad and iPhone every minute as you worked and went about your day. Well if guys can listen to sports on their iPhone all day, we girls can listen to a great book!

Any additional comments?

Really good story, and perfectly read. The accents were perfect and right on for the characters, I have listened to this book twice, and can not wait for the next in the series ("On London Road" was also an excellent book but with a different reader. Ellies story was a bit weak, felt like it was just to put something out there as we already knew her story from this book "On Dublin Street". Olivia and Nate are next in "On Jamacia Road", and we are waiting for the audio book to come out... Please, hurry as we are really looking forward to the rest of the series.... Petie and ? Cole and ? Uncle Mick and ? Would love to see this a dozen book series, the writer is that great!)

Great Story and Character Development

If you could sum up On Dublin Street in three words, what would they be?

Self-growth meets Romance..?

Who was your favorite character and why?

Braden because he's the most likable

Which scene was your favorite?

Not sure, there were a few.

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

When the main character found out that Braden's sister had cancer.

To be continued, please!

Any additional comments?

The epilogue from book 3 of this series leaves me hopeful that there will be a book 4 from the perspective of Cole. Each book wound these lives/loves into each other and I enjoyed all of it.

Pretty Hot Listen!

For the genre, this is a pretty good listen. The narrator did a very good job of getting the accents down and not making the male characters sound bizarre by trying to emulate a deeper voice. She can seem a little dead-pan at first but then it really lends itself to the main character so stick with it. The sexual tension between Jocelyn and Braden makes for some good listening. The description of their sex scenes is definitely hot. It was starting to get a little annoying with her lack of evolvement about 3/4 of the way through the novel but then it picks up. I definitely recommend this book, it's a good, hot listen!
