Publisher's summary

The second installment in Kresley Cole’s best-selling steamy Immortals After Dark series is now available on audio for the first time!

Centuries ago, Sebastian Wroth was turned into a vampire - a nightmare in his mind - against his will. Burdened with hatred and alone for ages, he sees little reason to live - until an exquisite, fey creature comes to kill him, inadvertently saving him instead.

When Kaderin the Cold Hearted lost her two beloved sisters to a vampire attack long ago, a benevolent force deadened her sorrow - accidentally extinguishing all of her emotions. Yet whenever she encounters Sebastian, her feelings - particularly lust - emerge multiplied. For the first time, she’s unable to complete a kill.

The prize of the month-long contest is powerful enough to change history, and Kaderin will do anything to win it for her sisters. Wanting only to win her, forever, Sebastian competes as well, taking every opportunity - as they travel to ancient tombs and through catacombs, seeking relics around the world - to use her new feelings to seduce her. But when forced to choose between the vampire she’s falling for and reuniting her family, how can Kaderin live without either?

Another Wroth brother down

In the third IAD story, we still have a Valkyrie FMC, but return to the wroth brothers (vampires) for the MMC. Kresley Cole has done a magnificent job of making the IAD a series of interconnected stories that can be read as standalones, but have so much more depth when read together. The stories overlap in terms of timeline and characters, not picking up exactly where the previous one left off, but still moving the overall world forward.

No Rest for the Wicked contains The Hie, described as an immortal Amazing Race, which is always fun to read about even if Bowen and Marriketa might edge out Kaderin and Sebastian as my favorite competitors. It’s a fun adventure plot that I always love rereading.

Narration: Robert Petkoff is truly great at performing these stories. If you haven’t tried audiobooks before, these are ones you should pick up.

Under My Skin

The narration was spot on and I was so emotionally embroiled with this one that I couldn’t stop myself from pacing back and forth at certain points in the story. Heavens to Megatroid but I DO so love the chemistry between male and female. I crave the heaven of it as it developed in the story, but it played havoc with my nerves during the hell of it too (that’s when I had to “walk it off”).I had a great experience with this romance.

Wonderful!

I loved this book! Katerine falls for Sebastian a vampire. After hoard vampires killed her sisters a millennium ago on a battle field. She has to overcome her hatred and loss while deciding whether to trust her vampire. This plus a portent of death and time travel all make this book an exciting read! Highly recommended!
