Publisher's summary

Two people from completely different worlds are about to be thrown together...in more ways than one.

She wants to keep her scholarship. He wants to stay on the team. An awkward alliance doesn't even begin to cover Rimmel and Romeo's relationship. But that's about to change.

It starts with a dare. An initiation. A challenge. Quickly it turns into more. But when you're a victim of your status, there is no room for anything real. The rules are clear and simple: Stick to your circle. And never fall in love with anyone on the outside.

Fresh Story - Interesting Format

This is the first in a series. The plot has been done but not overdone. Hebert does a great job of main character development although I think she could have amped up the supporting characters. She also left some loose ends that I would have thought she would have tied up in book one. We will have to wait and see for book two and book three.

The narration is female, male ping pong which is becoming popular. The preponderance of POV comes from Rimel. The narrators do a solid job. This book will appeal to light romance readers and is R rated but just barely. If you are looking for "steam" pass, this book is on the sweater side.

I do recommend going forward with the series. Although, I do recommend taking a book or two off and then coming back for book two. It is not a series that you have to go right on to book two to see what happens.

5+++++ #NERD STARS

Ahhhh Rimmel and Romeo <3

I have read and re-read this book, this series more times then I care to say. HAHA. :p
(Don't Judge Me)

I just love this story, of a girl who catches the popular guys eye without even trying. There is just something about that that gets my heart every time.

I love that Rimmel gets some friends she wouldn’t have if she hadn’t met Romeo. I loveeeee the relationship between Braden and Rimmel, it is not romantic in anyway and I really think Rimmel needed that in her life.

There are just stories you read that give you the warm fuzzies and this is just one of those books.

Being honest I really enjoyed Eric Michael Summerer’s narration, he is ROMEO! I liked Chandra Skyye but I didn’t love her. I found she just some words off. Other than that she does a great job bringing Rimmel to life.

*You don't have to like my review but its 100% my opinion, and I am allowed to have it.*

"She's all that" bad copy...

...and 'She's all that' aint all that.

I respect EVERYBODY's opinion, but I seriously dont get all the good reviews.

'She's all that'? Anybody? If it doesnt sound familiar to you, lemme elaborate: it is a 90s movie in which, due to a bet, the most popular guy in school has to take the nerdy-but-beautiful-without-her-glasses girl to prom, and help her become prom queen.

This book is a copy of that 90s cliche movie, only here the guy is a manwhore that critizes all the girls who act openly about their sexuality, just like him! And instead of a prom, he has to have sex with said nerdy-but-beautiful-without-her-glassws girl. Which sounds way more twisted to me.

If you're going to copy a plot from the 90s, at least make it better than the original. Or copy something good! Like 'Memento' or something! LOL!

Boring, predictable, beyond cliche, sooo slow (even more due to the female narrator, who... spoke... like... this...) and a complete waste of my time (and the male narrator's talent).

Speed up the time to help the robot!

I know, I know. I saw the reviews. I did! But this book was in the 2for1 sale and I said "Why not!" But yes, the female reader is a robot! She nearly ruined this listen for me BUT if you speed the book up a little bit- she doesn't sound so robot-y!

Problem somewhat solved.

The male narrator is much better. I feel bad for giving a lower star rating on performance for the sake of his ratings but sorry... your robot counterpart had it coming.

The story is a good one. It's a quick and fun listen. It's a storyline we have all heard before but it's still a sweet story. He's a jock, she's a "nerd". The "nerd" sounds extremely normal, just a bit introverted and the "jock" starts off as an asshat. A beautiful asshat, but an asshat all the same.

So yeah, nice story with good characters. Just beware of the robot.

Hashtag NERD!!! All about the nerds #yeesss

This book was good, omg, yes, love the story. Now, this is one of those books, that I been wanting to read but never gotten around to actually getting the book and reading it. And now, finally gotten that chance, may I say I am not disappointed. I cannot wait to read part 2 don't know when but I will.

Definitely a enjoyable read, funny how people assume that someone who's not popular or a nerd cannot get someone who's put of their league or someone who's popular and not in their caliber. I am glad that Roman aka Romeo, didn't care what anyone thinks.

But may I say this reminds me of the book I love i mean movie I love so much with the awkward nerd girl "another teenage movie" I think that's the name, where the girl change her appearance. Ha funny how it does that with someone who is not popular and wear glasses and nerdy.

May say I can relate to that because how I use to dress and stuff back when I was a teenager and in my early 20s so I can understand how Rimmel felt.

Great book though! #TeamRomMelli

LOVE the story, strongly disliked female narrator

This is one of my favourite series, and I love rereading it. So I thought I'd check out the audio version. The narrator for Rimmel is NOTHING like I expected... I expected a higher pitched voice. But the real problem was that the narrator honestly sounded like a robot. I'm not sure if they autotuned her voice or something, but it was extremely off putting. I honestly don't get it, it truly felt like AI. There was very little emotion and variability, and it was slow as well. I would give her narration 1 star.

The narrator for Romeo, on the other hand, was perfect!! I'd give his narration 5 stars!!

I'm not going to review the story, because I've done that on the ebook. It's fun, a bit of a guilty pleasure type book...reminds me of those 90s teen movies I love.

I read a tip on another review -- if you speed up Rimmel's chapters the robotness becomes less noticeable. But it meant I had to constantly switch speeds. Bummer, because I love this series.

Fun. Sweet. Delightful. Both the hero and the heroine grew a lot. Going to jump into the next one.

Lets hear it for the nerds!

Oh Cambria you out did yourself! I absolutely adored this book! I have to say I tend to read more dark or books with angst and this isn't really one kinda fell more along the lines of Young Adult for me, but boy was it great. It's your typical jock boy falls and in love with the nerdy girl but it's so unique in the way it's delivered and the narration just was amazing i read this book then bought the audio version and Skyye and Summerer knocked it out! I can wait to.finish this series!!

Romeo and Rimmel = Must read story

As soon as you meet Rimmel and Romeo, you can't ignore the connection between these two. They bring out sides of each other that no one else has. The narration of this book draws you in and you feel as if your there with the characters. Love this story!
