Possessed of an extraordinary telekinetic gift - she can make objects burst into flames - Dahlia Le Blanc has spent her life isolated from other people. But just when she thinks she's finally achieved some semblance of peace, her well-orchestrated world comes crashing down.
For a reason she cannot guess, she has become the target of deadly assassins. Suddenly, no place is safe - not even the secret refuge she established long ago. Now she must rely on Nicolas Trevane, a dangerous warrior sent to track her down and protect her. Together, they generate a scorching heat Dahlia never imagined was possible. But can she trust this man with her secrets, especially when some people would kill to get their hands on them?

"Swift-moving and sexually charged....an electrifying read, one that should satisfy [Feehan's] fans and cement her reputation as the reigning queen of the paranormal romance." (Publishers Weekly)
Th first half of the book was exciting and held my interest. The narrator's accent was annoying but tolerable. The second half completely dropped the story line in favor of gratutious sex. The worst part was that almost all sentences used the word body, but Mr. Stechschulte could not seem to pronounce it. It seemed to be baaaaaahdy or bhhhaaady or some such varaiation which became extremely annoying , and I could not finish the book, which is a first for me.
I agree with a previous review by Henry. There's too much gratuitous sex and not enough story line during the second half of the book. I got sick of hearing about the sexual tension and "heat" between the characters. I enjoyed Dangerous Tides and Night Game much more. This is definitely the weaker of her books. It was hard to make it through the second half.
I think sometimes people click "unhelpful" when they mean "I disagree". Can there be an agree/ disagree button next to the helpful option?
This book has a lovely intriguing begining that is satisfying (especially if you've read Shadow Game) but the last 6 hours are labored and dull. It's a pity.
Hot romance/Sci Fi we're so lucky to have Audible to feed our book addictions. I love walking my precious dog Sydney & listening to my books
This series has a little of everything - Action and Danger, Psychic abilities and a lot of Hot Romance...... At the end of Shadow Game Lily and the GhostWalkers were determined to find the other children that Lily's father Dr Whitney had experimented on to enhance their psychic abilities. Dahlia is the first of those children that she has managed to track down but after looking at recordings of her training it seems she has a dangerous ability. Nicolas is sent to find her and let her know that they can help her to live a normal life but when he gets to her he finds she has become the target of deadly assassins. He manages to save her from their first attack but her friend has been taken hostage and Dahlia is determined to save him. She is going to need the help of Nicolas and the other GhostWalkers to rescue her friend and find out who is behind the plot to take her life.
I really enjoyed the first book in this series and Mind Game didn't disappoint. I find the idea of an experiment to increase psychic abilities really interesting and love finding out about the different powers that the GhostWalkers have. Dahlia has a very unusual and dangerous talent which allows her to do amazing things but it comes at a very high cost to her. Constantly absorbing energy from her surroundings and the feelings of others she is easily overwhelmed and when that happens things become explosive, with Dahlia often setting fire to anything around her. Unable to control her powers she is a danger to anyone around her but Nicolas is willing to take the risk to be with her.
Dahlia has been through a lot since she was experimented on as a child, she has had no one she could rely on and has never allowed anyone to get close to her. Her dream of having a family has always seemed an unrealistic one and she has been forced to spend most of her time alone to avoid the affect that other people's emotions have on her. Nicolas is the most cold and aloof of the GhostWalkers but Dahlia breaks down his barriers and allows his passionate side to come to the front. It takes a while for Dahlia to allow Nicolas in but it's well worth the wait and the heat between them is literally explosive!
I enjoyed seeing more of the camaraderie between the GhostWalkers and it was sweet watching them welcome Dahlia into their family. We've been introduced to some more interesting characters who I'm hoping we'll see more of in future books and I'm looking forward to finding out more about the individual GhostWalkers psychic abilities. I can't wait to get my hands on the next book!
I love the stories of light supernatural tales with some romance, and giggles.
an impossible match made possible
more inflection than I could give
wanted to laugh, and relax after sooo...much sex
sex took away some of the underlying story it seems as though he was filling the pages with sex instead of making it a really special
My god, the narrator made dreadful spit noices, it was distracting. I could not concentrate on the plot.
I had the same exact complaint that Henry had (Feb 07). I almost bought another of her books but remembered that I had listened to a horrible book not too long ago and wondered if it was one of hers. Then I thankfully found Henry's comments. I didn't even finish that book! and I ALWAYS finish books...always. When I found myself talking out loud to the book and saying "he touched her baaaahhhhddddyyy," I knew the book was a lost cause. Save your credits unless you like to hear the word "baaaaahhhhdddyyy" a million times!
I've finished the first two in the series. Not sure if I'll go to the third. Seems to be variations of the same formula
Her first book. Lots (LOTS) of sex goin' on. Trust me, I like sex, but too much ice cream is too much ice cream. You know what I mean? Now if you're looking for a chicklet listen to, then this is your series. Man finds woman (who is always a virgin, they have mad , wild sex continuously, (OOOOH it's never been like this before..), loyalty, commarderie & honor and happily ever after.
I've listened to the first book in this series, he does a nice job. I know who each of the characters are.
Christine Feehan is an automatic download for me. Love this series. I am a PR fan and this series is differently wonderful.
I love each set of characters and the dynamic
Each one of the Ghostwalkers is my favorite for different reasons
All of them he is a great performer
Each one of these books has a heady sex scene or three but the story line is great.
