Would you listen to Midnight Crystal again? Why?

Yes. I like the stories written about Harmony. This is probably my 10th book about the Arcane Society and the ghost hunters and dust bunnies. I just like the easy way she writes. Her characters are always reliable to be entertaining. Just easy story lines and happy endings.

What was one of the most memorable moments of Midnight Crystal?

When Gibson chortles and jumps on Adam's shoulder the first time. The dust bunny is a good judge of character so you knew right then that the two would get together at some point in the story.

Have you listened to any of Tanya Eby’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

I have not listened to any other performances by Ms. Eby but I will in the future.

The final adventure

I didn't want it to end. I would like to know what happens with the twins. I bet they could have lots of adventures.

Yes, the main characters were fun and the story was exciting and interesting. Also Liked Gibson the dust bunny.

What did you like best about this story?

The interaction between the main characters while trying to stay alive and solve the mystery of the lamp.

Which character – as performed by Tanya Eby – was your favorite?

Marlo, was a fun character that Tanya brought to life well.

This is not my usual type of book but it had was fun to listen to and had enough fantasy to make it interesting. My main series are Cat and Bones by Frost, The hallows series by Harrison and the Stackhouse series by Harris. This was a fun deviation from my normal books.

Can’t stand that lisp…

I love these books! I just can’t STAND the readers lisp. This book was hard to get through even though I was very into the story.

Not the best Narrarator

Would you try another book from Jayne Castle and/or Tanya Eby?

I liked the book, the story and plot, even the character building... however the delivery from the narrator was not good at all. I have listed to a TON of books and this narrator was very flat. There was hardly any differentiation between male and female and the emotional delivery was horrible. It was super stoney and I felt like I was listening to a robot. She has a good voice, it was just lacking emotion and depth in reading a story like this one, which was full of action and romance.

Would you be willing to try another book from Jayne Castle? Why or why not?

I would read more by Jayne Castle, just not narrated by this same woman.

This book is a book of fantasy. I personally don't like fantasy. I didn't listen to much of the book. If you like fantasy, then you might like this book.

I can not even get through 15 minutes.

What would have made Midnight Crystal better?

It might have a good story and plot but the narrator is terrible. I can not invest time in something I am forcing my self to listen to. Books need to grab or make you want more, right off the bat. This does not.

Would you ever listen to anything by Jayne Castle again?

Probably not. Maybe with another narrator.

Who would you have cast as narrator instead of Tanya Eby?

Tavia Gilbert, Jennifer Ikeda, James Marsters, are the best, masters....... oliver Wyman is great, Joyce Bean okay, Kirsten Potter is okay...

You didn’t love this book... but did it have any redeeming qualities?

Honestly it didn't hold my attention at all. I will give all purchases 15 to 30 minutes but if you feel like you would rather do anything else........
