I'd rather listen than read!!!! This is my joy!!!
This is the best thus far for me. I love the first book but I do not really care for the book #5. I love this because it shows the vunerable side of Rhage and how he tries his best to shield Mary. It shows her strengths as well as her ability to be docile to her man's need. I love the romantic scenes when he tries to hold back only to give in to his need desire and want.
Rhage is my favorite character because he is strong, bold, funny, romantic and loveable. But all in all he's a warrior willing to protect what's his.
I really am growing to love Jim Frangione. At first I did not like him but now I am getting to love his style and his cadence/voice.
When Rhage wanted Mary and pushed himself away b/c he didnt want to hurt her. And denied himself pleasure!!
I love this book I am hoping the series doesnt let me down.
When I clean, drive or exercise I listen to romance. The steamier the better but it must have a great story as well!
This is one of my favorite books in the series! I have been waiting for it to be released in Audio format and was not disapointed! Rhage is the type of guy that most women would love to be with. This story has action and romance. If you enjoy fiction with action and steamy romance this book is for you! JR Ward doesn't disapoint!
I see that people either love this series or they hate it. I'm thinking that they are only reading one book at a time, and not in order. If you Don't like Erotic Horror Fantasy. DON'T READ JR Ward books. I have read the first two of the "Fallen Angel" series and I'm hooked. That was the reason I started BDB. I am enjoying the BDB, but find the Fallen Angel series more to my liking so far. I'm up to book 4 in BDB and each one gives a different perspective of each member of the "Brotherhood". Erotic Horror Fantasy is not for everyone, and that is why I think it is important that you know what you are purchasing. I am enjoying the series so far and will continue. I am very much looking forward to the next "Fallen Angel"
love to read. when i cant read, i listen to them instead:)
love the story but they should have picked another person to narrate. there is too much slang and the guy idk he just wasnt a good fit for this read.
of course. loved the story
This booked touched me. The relationship between Mary and Rage is complicated one but at the end they make it all worth it.
I cried so much in many parts of this book. The mixture of tenderness and hot hot love makes this book a must.
I love how the author is developing, in each book, the characters that are part of the brotherhood. I can't wait to read the next one.
Before I decided to review the Lover Eternal (Black Dagger Brotherhood, Book 2) audiobook I look up the review standings .. on Amazon there are a total of there are 550 reviews in which 393 give this book 5 stars. I was told the books got better well I am sorry the best I can do is ½ star - now there will be 10 people ranking this books with only 1 star.
This is the 2nd installment of the BDB Series and my last, as with the 1st book I found that it too had a terrible plot, the writing was awful - I think a 13 year old wrote the book - REALLY "juicy curses"? It was riddled with lame and silly dialog; seriously what adult male says "You feelin' me, brother?" or "you gotta hook me". Or what guys comments about another guys outfit; "that brother looks good in his Armani suit" - REALLY??
As for the audio part that too was awful.
I do have a couple of positive comments - I purchased this book on sale and the best part of the audio version - the long dead space between the chapters.
Anyone that had any character to his voice. Anyone that could use the punctuation while reading. Jim Frangione is monotone!! and he rambles. It's very frustrating listening to this guy talk.
Find someone that knows how to read.
Believer in what you can't see
Everything, I love the whole plot between Rhage and Mary. I love how Rhage learns to care about Mary and sacrifice all he could so that she would live even if it would mean she would never know him again. LOVE THIS STORY. MY FAVORITE IN THE SERIES.
The only one that I like as much as this one was Lover Unbound. I find the devotion between the brothers and their human lovers both wonderful and heart wrenching. Both brothers had to find that woman that soften their hearts and allowed them to think about someone else.
The power and the strength behind the brothers lives. You hear the mannerisms and the attitudes of each of the characters. Frangione brings life to the stories, but the stories can stand alone too.
Yes, but because J.R.Ward has so much to say it is impossible to hear the audiobook in one session.
This was the second Vampire series that I feel in love with, right after the Dark Series written by Christine Feehan. This series is on the serious side. It has its humor, but some of the storylines can get pretty deep and disturbing.
This second installment of the Black Dagger Brotherhood was richer and even more interesting then the first book. In fact I liked it better than the first. Rhage is cursed by the Scribe Virgin to turn into a dragon/godzilla like creature when he gets to worked up. It was intended to teach him to control himself. The beast made things really interesting.
The most memorable moment for me in the book was Mary running to Rhage and finally admitting she wasn't okay instead of trying to keep up the fascade that she was in control and handling everything on her own.
The narrator mispronounced quite a few words. The one that irritates me most is rifled. I do like his voice however because it is easy to listen to so much can be forgiven.
The most moving part of the book was when Rhage kissed and touched all the scars from the various procedures Mary had because of her previous bout of luekemia. She is one battlescarred and tough lady to have endured what she has.
This is one of my favorite books in the series. I have read all of them in paperback and now I'm going back and buying my favorites in audible so I can listen to them on my smart phone while I walk.
This story starts off fine, but becomes lazy and disjointed halfway through. I began to feel like I was listening to the writer's notes strung together to haphazardly extend the story. It recovers by the end so all in all, this one was just, OK.
The series is fun and I highly recommend it for a "campy" diversion that can be listened to in mixed company. I like listening to the BDB Series because in a lot of ways they remind me of the "campiness" of the once popular 60's television show "Batman". (So "silly" but I just couldn't stop watching it). Regarding the narration: Jim Frangione's dry dispassionate reading has a way of "growing" on you. He is not as distracting as some narrators of other books, but he certainly does not inspire the raw "sexiness" I think the stories hold. Listening to him is like listening to the character Jack from the once popular detective show "Dragnet." I think if you can get this one on sale, it is worth the listen.
