Publisher's summary

Number-one New York Times best-selling author Kresley Cole continues her electrifying Immortals After Dark series with this thrilling tale, revealing secrets of the Lore, fierce realm of the immortals....

All fear the enemy of old.

Driven by his insatiable need for revenge, Lothaire, the Lore’s most ruthless vampire, plots to seize the Horde’s crown. But bloodlust and torture have left him on the brink of madness - until he finds Elizabeth Peirce, the key to his victory. He captures the unique young mortal, intending to offer up her very soul in exchange for power, yet Elizabeth soothes his tormented mind and awakens within him emotions Lothaire believed he could no longer experience.

A deadly force dwells within her.

Growing up in desperate poverty, Ellie Peirce yearned for a better life, never imagining she’d be convicted of murder - or that an evil immortal would abduct her from death row. But Lothaire is no savior, as he himself plans to sacrifice Ellie in one month’s time. And yet the vampire seems to ache for her touch, showering her with wealth and sexual pleasure. In a bid to save her soul, Ellie surrenders her body to the wicked vampire, while vowing to protect her heart.

Centuries of cold indifference shattered.

Elizabeth tempts Lothaire beyond reason, as only his fated mate could. As the month draws to a close, he must choose between a millennia-old blood vendetta and his irresistible prisoner. Will Lothaire succumb to the miseries of his past - or risk everything for a future with her?

Kresley Cole does it again!!!

What made the experience of listening to Lothaire the most enjoyable?

I have read or listen to all the books in this series and Kresley Cole always brings her A game to each story. They are fun, brave, suspenseful and outrageous. Any one who has been waiting will be pleased.I had used up my credits and had to pay membership price but it will worth it.Robert Petkoff was a fabulous Lothaire( the enemy of old).
I the story takes you on a journey with two very flawed but interesting character, very human in their misunderstandings.
I enjoyed my book vacation!

I had a love hate relationship with this book.

What did you love best about Lothaire?

I loved the mix of action and emotion.

Would you be willing to try another book from Kresley Cole? Why or why not?

Yes, I love her writing style.

Have you listened to any of Robert Petkoff’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

Yes. this was on par with his other work.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

No. I hated the mean spiritedness of the main character so much that I found myself really making an effort to continue at times.

Best reader I've heard!

I have one thing to say about Robert Petkoff reading these books....WOW!!! He is the perfect person to read these characters. Rarely do you come across an actor who can not only play all male characters very convincingly but also play female characters and make you forget it's a male reading the character. Not to mention the accents he does are spot on! He makes listening to these great stories so enjoyable I find myself getting lost in them. I'd like to hear him read Christine Feehan's books as well...he'd be perfect for those too!

SOOOOOOOO GOOOOOOOD!!!!!

I continue to gush about each of the books in this series, and Lothaire is no exception! I LOVED this one! Lothaire is quite the vampire/man/immortal being--he's so bad, but, so delicious! I was glued to my ipod listening to this one. It's definitely a credit worthy purchase and I highly recommend it if you're into paranormal romance. It can stand alone if you have not listened to the other books preceding it, but they are all so good it's worth it to just start at the beginning and let your ears indulge in a feast! SO GOOD!!!

great book, great series

Would you consider the audio edition of Lothaire to be better than the print version?

I enjoy the theatrical preformance of audio books. I have not read the print version, but it is the same great story. I often purchase both print and audio versions of the same story.

What was one of the most memorable moments of Lothaire?

The most singular memorable moment for me was the

Have you listened to any of Robert Petkoff’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

This was the first of Robert Petkoff's preformances I listened to. His vocalizations for Ellie did take some getting use to, but I loved his performance of Lothaire and Thad.

My favorite IAD story so far!

I've listened to this book 3 times and I keep coming back for more. I love Ellie and her strong spirit. Robert Petkoff brings Ellie and Lothaire's characters to a whole new dimension. Reading the book myself was great but hearing their voices, accents, emotions through Robert was exceptional. I don't think I could have experienced their story better in any other way.
