Yep you will want to be in bed with the Highlander

This is a excellant story.The pace of the story is good. The narration is good. It was enjoyable from beginning to end.The heroine leads the way through this tale and you will fine yourself enjoying the ride. If you enjoy stories of the highlander lads then this one is well worth the read/listen.

Good story - Terrible narrator

The story was great but the narrator was terrible. It was almost inpossiable to tell who was speaking in the story because almost all the voices for the characters sounded the same. And the highland accent was the worst. If the story it's self had not been so well written I would not have had the strength to finish the book. I would like to listen to the rest of the series but if the narrator is the same then I know I won't.

Yes, I would recommend this book. I thought the book is well written and the reader was excellent.

Who was your favorite character and why?

I like Mairin b/c she's independent and head strong. She stood up for what she believed in regardless of the consequences.

Which scene was your favorite?

Mairin tried to tell Ewan that how he kissed her was wrong. Not with tongue. LOL

Any additional comments?

This is a good 1st book of the series. It introduced all 3 McCabe brothers and their characters. This book is about Ewan and Mairin and their journey to find each other. I thought Maya's description of Mairin's education about kissing/sex from a nun was really funny.

Exciting start to romantic series!

I’ve always enjoyed books by Maya Banks, and this story is a historical romance set in the Highlands of Scotland. Based around a supposedly mythical tale, the heroine is the illegitimate daughter of King Alexander, the deceased former king of Scotland and has been hiding in an Abbey since she was a child. Discovered and taken from the Abbey by a ruthless laird who wants to use her to gain great power and wealth, she escapes with the young son of another Highland laird. Where does In Bed with a Highlander rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

This is one of my favorites

Who was your favorite character and why?

I love Crispin. A sweet child that doesn't come across like an idiot. I really hope he gets his own book one day.

What about Kirsten Potter’s performance did you like?

She did a good job differentiating of characters' voices. She is very articulate and easy to understand.

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

I don't generally laugh or cry at books, so no reaction like that, but I did really enjoy it.

Any additional comments?

I have read this book many a times before I broke down and got the audio book. This is not going to be a history lesson, or immersing you into life in this era. This is a romance novel, teetering on being a fluff piece. But it doesn't pretend to be anything else. It is an enjoyable piece when all is said and done. I don't know if I would have enjoyed it so much if it would be so faithful to its setting, so I can't say that is a flaw. I don't regret getting it, and have listened to it several times. One comment, though, is something about the ending doesn't sit well with me, don't enjoy it, so usually stop reading or listening a ways before the end; I am not sure why, but I do not enjoy the last part of the story.

Wonderful book!

The ending was the best part! Even though the marriage was rushed, the romantic relationship of the main characters was very organic in my opinion. Great read!

What made the experience of listening to In Bed with a Highlander the most enjoyable?

The narration brought the characters to life, and I couldn't stop listening to the great story. I enjoyed all the characters in the story. I love that the series will continue.

Have you listened to any of Kirsten Potter’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

Kirsten is a wonderful narrator. I hope the next book in the series is also read by her.

ok story, but the author couldn't seem to find any word for crazy besides daft, which made me daft.

Not bad

This was an okay listen. When I was done I didn't have any overwhelming feelings in either direction- love or hate. I think what holds this book above water is the narration. The story line is decent, but predictable. I found myself giving a half hearted cheer in certain parts of the book...

Could have ended sooner

This book started out as a great read. The author decided to spend to much time describing how to go down on a man. The book started to drag on so I didn't finish it.
