Publisher's summary

In the feuding English court, gentle Lady Madelyne suffered the cruel whims of her ruthless brother, Baron Louddon. Then, in vengeance for a bitter crime, Baron Duncan of Wexton—the Wolf—unleashed his warriors against Louddon's domain. Exquisite Madelyne was the prize he catured...but when he gazed upon the proud beauty, he pledged to protect her with his life.

In his rough-hewn castle, Duncan proved true to his honor. But when at last their noble passion conquered them both, she surrendered with all her soul. Now, for love, Madelyne would stand fast...as bravely as her Lord, the powerful Wolf who fought for...Honor's Splendour.

Another enjoyable read from Julie

I love that Julie always has such a nice balance between love and honor with a spice of spirit. And of course a happy ending is always nice.

Julie Garwood is at the top of my must read authors. I have read most of her stories multiple times. I have been reading her work for many years and she just gets better.

Set in a more barbaric time for England, one baron seeks revenge for the rape of his sister. Madeline, an innocent, gets caught in the middle.

Way too much explicit sex!

There was a lot about this book that I liked. The characters were well developed and likable. But I would have enjoyed it so much more without all the detailed sexual encounters.

Deja vue all over again

I have read three of Julie Garwood’s books in a row and noticed that she uses the same scenes, events and incidents in each story. It is difficult to keep the stories straight because of this.

Hold on a second—

I thought the Rapture was still a bit off. When did Beelzebub get here? And when did he take over Audible? Christ—oops, sorry—I mean, Devil, I miss everything…

Honor’s Splendor

I have owned this book for years. It is a good listen. Sometimes I wish she would catch on, but it wouldn’t be realistic. I loved her antics and her change for good. We need that now and then. I also love the narrator.

Classic Julie Garwood!

One of my favorite books by Julie Garwood! The narrator could have been better, but once I got used to her voice, it was okay.

Good Story/Poor Narration

Would you try another book from Julie Garwood and/or Anne Flosnik?

I have enjoyed three books by Julie Garwood to date. The first two were narrated by Rosalyn Landor, who is very good. I did not enjoy Anne Flosnik's narration, however.

What other book might you compare Honor's Splendour to and why?

Honor's Splendour is reminiscent of Julie Garwood's other Historical Romance novels.

Who would you have cast as narrator instead of Anne Flosnik?

I would have preferred to listen to Rosalyn Landor than Anne Flosnik.

If this book were a movie would you go see it?

Yes, if this book were a movie, I would definitely go and see it.

Any additional comments?

My only reservation in recommending this book is that I found the narration to be quite irritating. To be truthful, I couldn't stand the sound of her voice. I had to make myself focus on the story, rather than the voices. This book would be a great read, buy not a great audible.

ho hum

Would you try another book from Julie Garwood and/or Anne Flosnik?

I've enjoyed other Julie Garwood books. Don't know what happened here.

What was the most interesting aspect of this story? The least interesting?

I finished the book two days ago and can't even recall what it was about....... that's how much of an impression it made. I think breakfast had more of a lasting fond impression.

Did Anne Flosnik do a good job differentiating all the characters? How?

sure. the men were a bit off.

Could you see Honor's Splendour being made into a movie or a TV series? Who should the stars be?

i wouldn't watch it, but i'm not a huge tv watcher.

Any additional comments?

yawn.

Definite repeat listen

When too much of your life becomes overwhelming, curl up with any Julie Garwood historical romance novel, and be swept into the words of one of the diamonds amongst the dross of romance novelists. While Ms. Garwood's contemporary romance and mystery novels are always a good, well-written read , I hope she returns to the genre where her talent truly sparkles.
