Publisher's summary

In the feuding English court, gentle Lady Madelyne suffered the cruel whims of her ruthless brother, Baron Louddon. Then, in vengeance for a bitter crime, Baron Duncan of Wexton—the Wolf—unleashed his warriors against Louddon's domain. Exquisite Madelyne was the prize he catured...but when he gazed upon the proud beauty, he pledged to protect her with his life.

In his rough-hewn castle, Duncan proved true to his honor. But when at last their noble passion conquered them both, she surrendered with all her soul. Now, for love, Madelyne would stand fast...as bravely as her Lord, the powerful Wolf who fought for...Honor's Splendour.

5 star story, 2 star narrator :(

I loved this book. what a great writer and beautiful story. I must agree that the narrator was hard to listen to but after the first few hours I got used to her. This book would be AMAZING with Rosalind Landor or Mary Jane Wells narrating. This author has become one of my absolute favorites.

Story good, narration not so good.

The story was well written but the narration needed to be better. I kept seeing an old lady in my mind as I listened.

OUTSTANDING!!!

This is only my second Garwood novel, but my favorite! The main characters are well developed, and Anne Flosnik brings a great deal of personality to all the main characters. I love her narration, and the way she brings Duncan to life! Good choice, and I will continue to enjoy this book far into the future!!!

Love Julie

Would you consider the audio edition of Honor's Splendour to be better than the print version?

No I don't care for and Ann Flosnik her voice is too nasal. I love Julie Garwood this is a good story. It's not one of her best, but it is funny.

Who was your favorite character and why?

Madeleine is my favorite female character. Duncan is my favorite male character. Madellaine is just tripping through life with rose-colored glasses, and Duncans just trying to keep her from getting hurt.

What three words best describe Anne Flosnik’s voice?

Very ,very ,nasally!

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

No I can't I listen while I work and am interrupted all the time. I actually like the books broken into sections.

Any additional comments?

Yes, I will eventually get all her books!

as always a delight.

I don't think I have ever read a book by her I didn't like and this one stays true. NO matter how long ago she has written it it will hold true.

Not great, but entertaining

Is there anything you would change about this book?

Although I appreciate that the lead female was not your typical character, I did find her annoying and weak. She comes across more like an addled old woman who is clueless about the world around her than a strong heroine. The continual lack of understanding of each other is somewhat forgivable as that is not that unrealistic with men and women, however it does wear thin.

Would you be willing to try another book from Julie Garwood? Why or why not?

Yes, she writes well and has convincing characters.

Did Anne Flosnik do a good job differentiating all the characters? How?

It is hard to voice a strong male character as a female, so I won't fault her too much for that. Overall she did well.

If this book were a movie would you go see it?

Not likely

Any additional comments?

Some very steamy love scenes in this one. The author does not shy away from detail!
