For him, honor and duty always come first. When the clan dictates he take a human mate to sire a son, he falters, aware that for a human to birth a dragon-shifter she must die. Myst, the woman given into his care, is the most extraordinary he’s ever met, and though he can’t bear the thought of harming her, he is bound by duty.

Myst loves her life in the human world, but Bastian has captured her heart in an instant of electric connection. But Bastian and his warriors are in the middle of a deadly battle with the Razorback dragon-shifters, intent on killing every Nightfury clan member - and the humans they protect - the fate of their world and ours hangs in the balance. Great book, STUPID HEROINE

Any additional comments?

Ok this is the first review ive written because i have to say that this was the most stupid, irrational, girl i have ever read a book about, and ive red quite a few. All she does is run run run. if i could have i would have jumped in the book and slapped sense into her...

Not a normal Hollywood type of Paranormal Romance

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

Let's face it, this book is somewhat formula paranormal romance there is enough deviation from the formula to make it interesting. Not all the bad guys are truly evil and the good guy isn't perfectly good. Granted there are not as many dragon based books as there are vampire or traditional Werewolf books out there, I believe this book put a decent enough amount of twists to make it fresh. That's not to say you won't see the typical verbiage found in the PNR books, but honestly how many different ways can you describe two people getting close and having sex?

What was one of the most memorable moments of Fury of Fire?

Towards the beginning of the book, our heroine has to do something that most of us would probably think twice about, and she has to deal with the consequences throughout the book. Granted she is a nurse, but even those in the medical field are people and are impacted by the lives of their patients.

Have you listened to any of Benjamin L. Darcie’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

No, this is the first book with this narrator. I found his voice a little better than most. He is eloquent in his presentation and annunciation to make the performance easy to follow. He is not as good as Jim Dale (Harry Potter narrator) at the voices, but few people are. However, that being said his presentation is enjoyable enough I'd listen to other books he has narrated.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

There were parts where I needed to get to a decent enough stopping point, so it did keep my interest enough to anticipate what would happen next. But I didn't feel compelled to finish it in one sitting. I took me four.

Any additional comments?

One thing I liked about this book, was the fact that I felt the author had a decent enough grasp of the English language she didn't feel compelled to pull out a thesaurus to add obscure or forgotten language. I believe most people listening to this will find the book easy to follow without having to get side tracked by phrases or words from previous bygone eras. Unless I'm reading a book staged in the 17th century or earlier, or is referenced from earlier eras, I hate it when the author throws in verbs or adjectives we haven't used in more than 100 years. It makes the story come off as pretentious.

Just Okay

This was slow to pick up. I was able to finish it and I did finally get into the story, but I was a bit bored at first. It was pretty good though by the end, though.

red hot

it was really tough to put this book down to go to work. This genre is right up my alley and the plot was engaging. The narrator was able to take right into this world and keep me there.

Fun sci-fi/fantasy book. Love those dragon-men

If you could sum up Fury of Fire in three words, what would they be?

The narrator has an interesting accent, it's cool. It's fun that each dragon is quite from each other from the next. Makes it more interesting.

What other book might you compare Fury of Fire to and why?

Kinda sorta like Dragon Bound.

What three words best describe Benjamin L. Darcie’s voice?

He voices the female characters well without sounding goofy.

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

When the men are emotional

Any additional comments?

I listened to all the books, and after each one, you know who the next one is going to be about. That part is a bummer because I like some surprises.

A New Addiction

Would you listen to Fury of Fire again? Why?

Yes and I have. I have never really been intertested in dragon stories but this book has really captured my interest. I can't wait until I read the other books in the series. Strong lead male characters and a good story line.

What does Benjamin L. Darcie bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

I'm enjoying listening to Benjamin reading of the book. He add alot of emtional to all the characters. This is my first time listening to him and I will continue to seek book read by him. Plus his voice is delicious.

Any additional comments?

Coreene has done an excellent job of introducing a series with just the right amout of mystery to keep you reading, humor to keep it entertaining and romance to keep you longing for more.

Read it don't listen to it!

What did you like best about Fury of Fire? What did you like least?

The writer is limited to colloquialisms, slang, and pop culture. I found it very hard to listen to 200+ year old dragons talking as if they walked of the set from a CW teen drama. I enjoyed the story, and felt compelled to get the next book, but, I read it instead and it was not so bad to read the words. It was torture to listen to the OMG's, and LOLs, and references to TV shows.

What did you like best about this story?

The author created a nice Dragon society, and a shifter culture that caught my imagination and wanted a happy ending.

What didn’t you like about Benjamin L. Darcie’s performance?

First book by him I have listened to and I will think twice about getting another one. I don't know if it was his performance or the writing that did not lend itself to be read out loud. When you say OMG, and LOL you sound like you are 15, not a nurse practitioner in her third decade, not a dragon who slept for 200 years. At least when you read OMG your brain substitutes the words and you can move on.

Could you see Fury of Fire being made into a movie or a TV series? Who should the stars be?

Yes it would come right after Vampire Diaries, and Gossip Girl. It was written for that age group even though it has a lot of explicit sex scenes.

Any additional comments?

I read the series in two weeks, and can't wait for the next one. THe story line and the characters intrigued and gripped me, I just had to read it and not listen to it.

Average

I saw a review of Warrior’s Revenge saying that they liked the Dragon Fury books better so when the first one was on sale, I picked it up. I got wrapped up in the story so I’ve kept going. This series is ok.

The more I listen to Callahan’s books, the more her style grates on me. The story is interesting but it is written in “chick lit” style, meaning it is riddled with colloquialisms. And many of them she uses repetitively. It just gets a bit old.

I’m not usually a fantasy or contemporary romance fan but in terms of story, I liked Fury of Fire all right. The narrator was decent, although his female voices were all alike but not to the point of distraction.

Overall, I'd say it was just average. If you like a little more creativity and intellect in the writing, I wouldn't recommend it.

A New Spin on an Old Tale

As good vs evil is the premise of all really popular sci fi, this book doesn't disspaoint. As a story that draws you in and keeps you interested, this whole series so far has been wonderful. Don't miss it, you will be sorry. Don't worry if dragons have never been your thing, these books show the humanity and struggles while embracing the romance and the battles. Each dragon is his own creature. although 1/2 human, in their dragon forms they all have different abilities as well as different life experiences and issues. Listen you won't be sorry
