Publisher's summary

In the next installment of Coreene Callahan's best-selling Dragonfury series Scotland, a dragon warrior cursed by a terrible past finds redemption in the arms of the woman he's unable to protect.

Commander of the Scottish pack, dragon warrior Cyprus harbors a terrible secret. A brutal truth he has long kept hidden. But when a powerful foe resurfaces, he steps from the shadows and returns to the hunt, vowing to protect his pack along with the woman his enemy seeks to use against him.

Brilliant, broke, and working two jobs, book conservator Elise Woodward has always struggled to make ends meet. When she lands the middle of a secret war, she becomes the target of a rogue pack of Dragonkind and the unwitting guest of a warrior who refuses to let her go - and despite the danger, makes her want to stay.

With the rise of a new enemy, Cyprus is forced to face his demons. But will defeating them be enough? Or will the past return to haunt him, taking the only woman he will ever love?

Contains mature themes.

Dragons!

The only thing that could make a dragon story even better.., have it set in Scotland and give them Scottish accents;) The action and romance never stops with this series and I can’t wait to jump into the next book.

Good plot but

Too long sex scenes and not enough character building. Left side stories not satisfied sufficiently.

3.5 Stars 🌟

This is the second book in the Dragonfury Scotland spinoff series. It is a fairly short book and it introduces us to Cyprus and Elise. We have met Cyprus before in the main series but I had not started the Scotland series yet so he was just a name for me at the time. It is nice to be able to start getting the back story of Forge's Scotland pack and to see what was behind the events that led him to the US.

There really isn't a lot to say about this book because it really is fairly superficial. The main thing is that Cyprus finally comes clean to his pack about the events that led to him taking over the pack.

Also, I'm not sure what it was about this book in particular, but I really did have a problem with the narration. The narrator was Felicity Munroe and I went and looked back and she has narrated quite a few of these books. I don't know if it just hit me the wrong way this time, or if I've had a problem in the past and when I went to write the review I just didn't pay attention. It takes a lot for me to mention narration so like I said, it might have just been a bad day.

I am still a bigger fan of the main series but am enjoying this spinoff when I need something light and easy to read and/or listen to.
