Publisher's Summary

Beth Brown’s dream feels so real: a mysterious stranger is gunned down during a violent airplane hijacking, and there’s nothing Beth can do to stop it. But Beth doesn’t believe in premonitions - or does she? How else can she explain the intense connection she feels to the gorgeous man in her dream whom she’s never met? A man she’s determined to save....

Navy SEAL Zane Winters lives for the job, relying on his psychic abilities to keep his fellow soldiers alive. No woman has been able to break through his tough-as-nails warrior mentality - until the day he meets a beautiful blonde who sets his soul on fire. There’s just one problem: Beth is convinced he’s about to die.

To save Zane and the other airline passengers - and to thwart the global crisis the hijacking will unleash - Beth and Zane join forces. But even amid the danger, they can’t deny the powerful force drawing them together. Is it merely attraction…or destiny?

I have been happily married for 17 years, I have 3 children (12, 14, & 16), and 2 dogs. I am currently working on a 2nd degree. Life is chaotic and stressful, but I wouldn't change it. I am blessed and enjoying my life.

    "A fantastic listen!"

The characters were well developed. The story was an action-packed-who-done-it story, and very well developed. If you love Navy Seals, you have got to get this one. I got NOTHING DONE TODAY! I found something to do so that I could listen all day :) I am now on the site looking to see if Trish McCallan has written anything else.
Also the narrator was fantastic too! I simply love a good narrator. You forget that it is only one person talking; you can recognize each person and simply sit back and be carried away by the story.

THANK YOU BOTH FOR A GREAT LISTENING EXPERIENCE!

"LOVED, loved this book ~ want more NOW!!"

Zane Winters has waited his whole life to find that 'connection' with a woman. In his family, a man knows when he's met 'the one'. He feels an instant soul deep connection, to the point that it's psychic. Zane has always had flashes of intuition, so it's no surprise to his fellow SEALs, who are all at the airport waiting to catch a flight to a wedding, when Zane gets a flash of bad happenings on the flight they're about to board.

What IS a shock is when not only does the woman Zane has been waiting for his whole life show up in the terminal, but she comes right up to Zane and knows details about the flight highjacking about to take place...details only someone involved could know. Or someone psychic?

Beth Brown has never in her life had dreams or premonitions that came true...yet the one about this day was coming true in ever step, so what else could she do but go to the airport and try to warn the man she'd seen in her dream about all the deaths she'd witnessed? She's shocked & mystified at her instant attraction to Zane Winters...and the way he seems to take command of everyone and everyting around him.

I LOVED this book! I'd actually read the book before, so this refers to the audio version, which I just had to listen to when I heard it was out.

Ms McCallan thrilled this readers little heart ~ first, it's obvious that the writer herself is a romance lover. Her heroine is an avid romance reader, and not in annoying way, but one that endeared her to me. Another way I felt like I was on inside club with Ms. McCallan was OMG, she's GOT to be a Linda Howard fan! So many of these sexy SEALs and other characters had LH names...you have to be a fan to recognize them, but here are a few I jotted down I loved it!

And it's obvious she learned what makes a hero grab your heart and run with reading all those romances, because Zane does! He's sexy, overbearing but not in an obnoxious way. He's instantly possesive & aggresive about Beth...who he's already decided is his. There's no lack on the action & adventure, and while we're left wondering on a few points to lead us to book 2, I have only glowing things to say about this book...and to tell Ms. McCallan she needs to

    WRITE FASTER!!

She's already make it onto my autobuy list with ONE BOOK.

    Yup, it's THAT good, peeps.

And Angela Dawe, as always, brings the characters to life in an awesome

skillful way! I love how she can do male or female, and keep me convinced of her characters the entire time.

I sped the audio up to 1.25, but I do that most of the time, since I read pretty fast. But this was a total WIN!

"ADDICTIVE..... ONCE YOU START YOU JUST CAN'T STOP"

Could not put this down - exciting, tense, thrilling, nerve racking and mind blowingly (alright that might not be a word) GREAT.

It has everything sexy SEAL, terrorists, action, romance, intrigue ...... I know I'm gushing aren't but I can't stop. Long may this Series continue and I'm absolutely desperate for March when the 2nd book Forged In Ash (Cosky's story) comes out.

Note to author T.M. - I'm begging you - cancel your holiday plans, work over the weekends.... oh yeah and through the night, hire a maid and/or nanny if needed - or better yet I'll come round and help you with it all if needed ANYTHING if you could just concentrate on books 4, 5, 6 etc etc etc because your fans need you!!!

Worth a credit? Oh YES YES YES and then some..... but for under $10 it's a bargain and it's read by the brilliant Angela Dawe and hopefully the formula of TM and AD won't change.

    "More Please...More!"

If you are interested in a "can't put down...edge of your seat...yummy romance" novel, then this one is for you! Forged in Fire: A Red-Hot SEALs Novel, Book 1, by Trish McCallan is very well written, with great character development. Her ability to develop a HERO is not to be outdone. Angela Dawe narrates this first installment of the series, and as always, her performance is outstanding. Amazing!

The second book in the series, Forged in Ash isn't due to be published until March 5, 2013. (according to her website - although the date of January 2014 is also given)
The good news...we will get to revisit the Red Hot Seals!

    Definitely credit worthy! Enjoy...

    "Fantastic Read!!"

Gripping, tense, quite a ride of a story. Can’t wait till the next book is out this is quite a story, can’t wait to see Amy and Max mix it up. It never ceases to amaze me what a tangle web we have in the executive branch of our government, and how each lil branch want their lil niche and no one can step in it without letting someone know. I would think they would have been happy that an air plane disaster had been adverted and lives saved, rather than question where the Intel came from, and who got it first. In this story we have bad guys in the FBI, DHS (dept. of homeland security) local police (although this wasn’t established for sure) and in the Naval Dept. So it became a question of WHO CAN YOU TRUST? I wouldn’t be surprised if the corruption goes even higher, like a senator in our government, but that is for the next book. Now for Zane and Beth, the physic link they have with each other was quite endearing. Beth denied it but she sure did believe in using it when she was in trouble. I really got a kick out of her using it when they were making love, which was so endearing. Get this book, it was fantastic. Worth a credit.
    Narrator did a fantastic job.

I can find a book to love in any genre -- a beautifully written classic, an interesting mystery or sci-fi, a trashy romance. Bring it!

"Just never really drew me in...not sure why"

STORY (romance/action) - I love romance/mysteries, but this is my first romance combined with high-octane SEAL action. It works, but it's not my favorite combination. I'm unsure what my "problem" is with this book. The guys are hot, the action/suspense element is palpable and the romance is sweet. Something about it just never grabbed me.

For one thing, I never got into Zane and Beth's romance. Again, not really sure why I didn't. They develop a psychic link with each other, which is okay but...meh. I also got tired of hearing about Zane's musky smoky scent and Beth smelling like strawberries. I did, however, like the fact that they weren't continuously hopping in and out of the sack throughout the whole book. (They were too busy staying alive).

PERFORMANCE - Personally, I think a man should have read this book instead of a woman, but Angela Dawe does a good job. A couple times I got lost between scene changes because she didn't pause appropriately. She goes seamlessly from an action scene into an office interview, so I had to rewind to make sure I wasn't just having a mental lapse.

OVERALL - There is quite a bit of violence -- kidnapping, shooting and severe injuries, including a Lorena Bobbitt-type event. Also lots of macho cursing, including multiple utterances of "Jesus F--k," which might be offensive to some listeners. As far as sex, there's only one long (maybe 3 minutes) sex scene. It's fairly graphic but not extremely so. I'd recommend for mature listeners. While guys would enjoy the action scenes (and there's a lot of them), I'd still recommend only for females because of the hot alpha males and the romance.

    "Disappointed is an understatement"

I decided to get this book due to a fabulous review from a fellow Audible listened. I have no idea what she was thinking when she wrote her rave review. I guess my standards must be to high. I felt that the narration was poor, it was so monotonous to be almost painful. I felt no true passion because it all just blurred together. The story was sub-par and again lacked much to be desired. I love big hunky guys and the idea of a book with marines definitely perked my interest. But I'd give this a pass and instead get something by Lori Foster, Sandra Brown or JR Ward.

"needs better pauses between character pov shifts."

the narrator did a nice job over all, but she needs to take a little longer pause between character point of view changes. when you are reading it on paper, you visually see the paragraph break or the bigger spacing. your mind is clued in to a pov and scene change. when she was reading it, there wasn't enough of a pause and therefore, it was a bit confusing at times.

"Really enjoyed this book, looking forward for more"

All characters were likable, even some bad guys. Great departure from all the rich, arrogant, dominating man/naive, poor, submissive woman stories. Lots of action, in both sexual and story progression. Keeps your attention wanting more with no annoying eye rolling, what the ...? moments. Although I couldn't notice much difference between voices of each character, her voice was pleasant.

Keeping with the strong, smart, capable women characters to match your devoted, lovable military men, this series could last.

Voracious reader/listener: I usually have one ebook and one audiobook going at a the same time. I'm a very eclectic reader so I tend to switch genres after every book. I'm open to most genres but my favorites in audio are mystery and fantasy (epic and urban both).

"Messy mix of Paranormal and Romantic Suspense"

Forged in Fire is a messy mix of Paranormal and Romantic Suspense that needed the reader to suspend disbelief way too much for it to work out. Am I to believe that post 9/11, some villains will resort to hijacking a plane to get their hands on some people? What happened to old fashioned kidnapping?

Sadly for the villains, their "fool-proof" plan was foiled by the psychic dreams/visions of our hero and heroine who happened to be fated mates. Even though their assertions are pretty crazy, the hero and heroine are believed enough that the plane is grounded. But that doesn't deter our handy villains. Oh no! Almost immediately, they resort to a plan B which revolves around leveraging some hostages. Again I ask myself, if you don't mind kidnapping people, why not kidnap the people you really want to get your hands on? (The excuse given for this was totally crazy.)

The relationship and the action in this book were very bland. The rescue is actually very detailed and sort of made sense but it went on too long. I wasn't crazy about the way things ended either.

Angela Dawe was good with the narration and she was the main reason I got the audio. But I'm not sure the book is worth the time.

    Definitely not continuing the series.

    "No good deed..."

Well, no good deed goes unpunished, and that it certainly true here. Behind the scenes ambition, politics and back-stabbing make for a sub-plot which is almost as frightening and threatening as the main story line.
I liked the characters and their individual bravery, rooting for a happy outcome all round.
Call me cynical, but I'm already wondering if this clearing of their names and reputation will stretch over the whole series or whether they will move on soon.
The rest of the series might be on my 'to read' list - eventually. I am afraid the railroading and menace may bore me after a while, so, I'll get to the next one and the re-evaluate.
