Beth Brown’s dream feels so real: a mysterious stranger is gunned down during a violent airplane hijacking, and there’s nothing Beth can do to stop it. But Beth doesn’t believe in premonitions - or does she? How else can she explain the intense connection she feels to the gorgeous man in her dream whom she’s never met? A man she’s determined to save....

Navy SEAL Zane Winters lives for the job, relying on his psychic abilities to keep his fellow soldiers alive. No woman has been able to break through his tough-as-nails warrior mentality - until the day he meets a beautiful blonde who sets his soul on fire. There’s just one problem: Beth is convinced he’s about to die.

To save Zane and the other airline passengers - and to thwart the global crisis the hijacking will unleash - Beth and Zane join forces. But even amid the danger, they can’t deny the powerful force drawing them together. Is it merely attraction…or destiny?

great story

While I have both read and listened to this book I have to say I enjoyed it more when I read it. The narrators voice is overly dramatic to the point where everything sounds like a breathy super slouth question. Reminds of those old spy movies with Dick Tracey or something. The story itself is great.

Great story! Annoying reading....

Really liked the story, but I was less than impressed with the reader. Her intonation was just off - every sentence sounded as if it ended in a question. It was enough to be distracting and only the story itself kept me listening. If I hadn't already read the book and known that I liked it, I might have returned the audiobook.

On Edge of My Seat

Wow! This had me on the edge of my seat throughout the full audio book. Hot and sexy, well-written and well-narrated.

Ehh

Overall, the story was action packed and pretty entertaining, though it did leave some loose ends, which annoyed me greatly. The narrator's voice was really hard to get used to. She sounded like a slightly less severe version of William Shattner's Captain Kirk from Star Trek. It was hard to ignore the unnecessary pauses for emphasis on the middle of the sentences.

Super great romantic thriller

This book was so exciting and fast paced. Loved the characters and storyline. I really enjoyed the psychic aspects to it, it’s not overboard that would turn anyone off but just right where it’s believable. It also has some hot sex which makes it an overall terrific book. Great narration by and Dawe also. Can’t wait to continue the series.

Messy mix of Paranormal and Romantic Suspense

Forged in Fire is a messy mix of Paranormal and Romantic Suspense that needed the reader to suspend disbelief way too much for it to work out. Am I to believe that post 9/11, some villains will resort to hijacking a plane to get their hands on some people? What happened to old fashioned kidnapping?

Sadly for the villains, their "fool-proof" plan was foiled by the psychic dreams/visions of our hero and heroine who happened to be fated mates. Even though their assertions are pretty crazy, the hero and heroine are believed enough that the plane is grounded. But that doesn't deter our handy villains. Oh no! Almost immediately, they resort to a plan B which revolves around leveraging some hostages. Again I ask myself, if you don't mind kidnapping people, why not kidnap the people you really want to get your hands on? (The excuse given for this was totally crazy.)

The relationship and the action in this book were very bland. The rescue is actually very detailed and sort of made sense but it went on too long. I wasn't crazy about the way things ended either.

Angela Dawe was good with the narration and she was the main reason I got the audio. But I'm not sure the book is worth the time.

Definitely not continuing the series.

Story caught my attention right away

I enjoy the story very much. it caught my attention right from the first paragraph. Then explained it an filled in the characters personal stories, as the story moved along. then with a twist you didn't see coming, then another right after...along the way with some humorous smiles and laughter from the authors audience. the only thing wrong with the story was over abundance of explanation of feelings an thoughts and the surroundings places the characters were in.
