Fantastic Story!

As the vampire saga continues with Cat & Bones.. Spade & Denise take center stage with their obvious aversion & attraction battling for control! I loved the way the story developed quickly... couldn't stop listening! Narration was excellent... one of my favorites! Can't wait to read the next in this series!

enjoyed the story. I read the book but listening to it brings it out in an enjoyable way.

it had a slow start but it turned into a very nice story with monsters, ghost, vampires and demons great twist at the end ... I will be looking for more books from this author.

Would you consider the audio edition of First Drop of Crimson to be better than the print version?

Not sure. Tavia does a great job, but honestly, I wouldn't want my kids to walk in when I was listening to one of these books. They are sexy and erotic and my kids are young, so sometimes I think I might be better off with a book; except I cannot read and cook at the same time.

What other book might you compare First Drop of Crimson to and why?

Obviously this goes along with the other books in Jeanine Frost's collection. I enjoy the world she created and didn't initially realize that this story was about Bones & Cats' best friends, Spade & Denise. You are supposed to read this before you read that last book in the Red Reaper / Night Hunter? series.

In this story, and all JF/ TG stories, Bones.

I enjoyed listening to this book very much. It was filled with so much drama and passion. I could visualize each character in this book. The narrator Travis was fantastic. I can’t wait to hear or read your books.

First Drop of Crimson is the first book in Jeaniene Frost's Night Huntress World series. This series is the spin off of her absolutely fantastic Night Huntress series featuring none other than the fabulous Cat and Bones.

First Drop of Crimson is the story of Cat's best friend Denise MacGregor falling for Bones' best friend Spade. Denise had sworn to stay out of the whole vamp and ghoul world. She was done with it after her husband was killed in a war between the species. Unfortunately, that world was not done with her. She was gonna need Spade's help if she was going to get through the trouble that tracked her down.

I enjoyed this book. Jeaniene Frost did a wonderful job with this first paranormal romance spinoff of the Night Huntress series. Though in my opinion this wasn't as good as some of the Night Huntress books, it is still a must read. It has a good story line and some great sex scenes. I would recommend it to any PNR fan.

Vampires are perverts, every last one of them, Cat had said on many occasions.

"Where do you put it?" he finally asked, his turquoise gaze sliding over her. "Or are you one of those lasses who vomits?"

ABOUT THE NARRATOR:
Tavia Gilbert’s narration was great! I generally love listening to her performances. She’s a wonderful narrator. She has such a nice flow to her speech and is fantastic when it comes to accents and acting.

Not impressed with the lead female in this book

The story was good. The main female character seemed very whiney. Struggled to finish.

Excellent

I am hooked on the Night Huntress series! I believe Jeaniene Frost has created a wonderful world of vampires, ghouls and things that go bump in the night. Tavia Gilbert narrates her stories beautiful, keeping the same voices from the NH series. I got some advice to read the Night Huntress world books between C&B Books 4 & 5..... that was good advice. The story picks up sometime after C&B4. And I believe by reading the NH world series will add to enjoying C&B5 even more.
This book does focus on more romance, initially, but do not worry, the action and excitement one learns to expect from J.Frost is there. I think the story of Spade and Denise is definitely worth listening to especially if you are already hooked on Cat and Bones.

The Story of Spade and Denise.

I enjoyed this engrossing story of Spade and Denise (best friends of main characters in the Night Huntress series) getting together. It was more involved and event-filled than I expected. I admit I fell prey to a slight bit of skeptisism that a fully fleshed-out story could be made of these two "side-characters" forming a relationship. I should not have doubted, as I am a huge fan of Frost's writing. She has such a wonderful way of bringing out heartfelt "realism" in her characters and their story, even with all the physicality and paranormal aspects in the narrative. She's really able to make you care about and connect with her characters and that's what makes good writing and a great story. Also, good narration by Tavia Gilbert as always!
