    "Good read"

The core issues of this book were both thought provoking and dealt with hard issues, however how it was told was both enjoyable and funny. I enjoyed this book and recommend it!

    "Excellent all the way around"

The story kept my interest from start to finish. The language was clean and the morals were well-established you had ample bad guys and villains to deal with, but good always wins out. Narrator was excellent. Will definitely listen to more from this writer

    "Hoping for another Prayer Box"

I was hoping to find another story along the lines of The Prayer Box, which I had really enjoyed. This was a little more romance, a little slow to unfold, and anticlimactic.
The narrator may not have ever been to Texas. The accents of the native Texans were very disappointing.
    Overall a sweet book.

    "Unexpected pleasure"

Lisa Wingate has written another winner that keeps readers engaged from the first sentence to the last. While this love-at-first sight offering might seem a bit cliche at the onset, Lisa's characters are wound together in such a way as to present a depth not often found in such novels.

Whether you're familiar with the Moses Lake series or not, this story is a highly entertaining read that can't be missed.

    "Missing Johanna Parker"

Lisa Wingate is a favorite writer. Her books are a joy to the senses and wholesome as well. I had a hard time with Firefly Island in the audible version from the start, however. The narrator's odd enunciations of word patterns made it difficult for me to fully enjoy what is usually a feast of descriptive language. For example: "ooooold growthtrees, instead of "old-growth trees". I realized how much I missed Johanna Parker's beautiful reading of Lisa Wingate's other books.

My hope is that this narrator is a beginner and will improve with practice, but this book was made an exercise in trying not to miss the point.
