Again!

I bought this book when it first came out and really enjoyed it. I started re-listening to it (again) yesterday; however, I had to stop today because I kept seeing flashes of Ukraine as the invasion of Holland unfolded in the book. I can envision people in Ukrainian households going through the same fears and experiences as the characters in this story. The book just sprang to life. I can put the book down but they cannot. I encourage everyone to offer whatever one can to help extinguish this horror before it spreads.
The world needs God.

So important to remember what happened to the Jews. We, as Christians, could be next.

Her best book yet?

I have listened to many of Lynn Austin‘s books and loved them all. This book, however, is perhaps her best. This is a page turner, a gripping narrative with rich character development and intricate family relationships. It details some of the cruelty of the Nazis but it does so in a way that causes you to examine your own self and decide what you would have done in the characters’ circumstances. The story is provocative, the narrator was excellent, and you finish the book believing yourself to be a different person.

Love the history woven in

Excellent narrative to highlight what went on during the war and how God helped many through the ordeals.

Thank you for this amazing story! It challenged me and encouraged me to be strong in the Lord at all times! One of my favorite Lynn Austin books so far. I am hooked!

Good, but…

Good! The story kept me on my toes. I was feeling stressed out for the characters! There were times I felt the author dragged a scene on too long. A couple times I wish I could’ve skipped to the back of the book to see if it was worth finishing, but because it was audio I just hung in there. I gave it 4 stars because one of the characters story plot (I’ll let you decide) seemed a little unrealistic with her love interest. Overall good book, was glad I had read it.

I think Lynn Austin’s books are all amazing and think each one is the best after I listen to them!

History that should never be forgotten!

Though fictional characters, they’re based on Historical Events that should never be forgotten. Well written and well read.

This book gave me the feels over and over again. it was beautiful and powerful and touching and I absolutely loved it so much!
