"strange buzzing and bleep I'm glad it was free"
This book wasn’t for you, but who do you think might enjoy it more?

the book itself is good, anyone who is interested in it will probably enjoy /reading/ it.

What do you think your next listen will be?

i would like to finish the series, but do not care to pay for them because upon listening to the first two, there were high pitched small odd sounds resonating through the microphone and made listening frustrating.

Would you be willing to try another one of Becca Battoe’s performances?

yes the narrator did a fine job, a little too valley girl sounding though, and also needs to learn how to properly pronounce city names. Montessano is pronounced Mont/teh/say/no.

What reaction did this book spark in you? Anger, sadness, disappointment?

it was very fulfilling as a sorry, however not pleased with the technical properties, as in the odd sounds coming through with the narration.

"The love scenes save the series"

The writing is pretty bad - the plot is predictable and the author needs a thesaurus for descriptive words because she uses the same handful of words over and over and over again. The female protagonist is described by other characters as being intelligent, but I fail to see that actually demonstrated in any of the internal monolog; in fact, the dialog throughout the trilogy is much the same--trite. The narration is OK, but I'm not sure if that's because of the narrator or the deficient writing. On the other hand, the love scenes are very tantalizing and plentiful, making the series worthwhile.

"Don't waste the money just go get the book!!!"
What could have made this a 4 or 5-star listening experience for you?

Having a completely differenet Narrator!! She is horriable, between completely lacking male voice and the valley girl she tried to portray, it was painful and a complete waste of time! Which is sad because this book is one of my favorites. I would love to have taken it on long trips. I will never listen to this recording again. HORRIBLE!!!

What other book might you compare Fifty Shades Darker to and why?

Loved the book HATED!!! the narrator!!

Would you be willing to try another one of Becca Battoe’s performances?

NO WAY!! This was so painful to listen to and is completely ruined for me!!

What reaction did this book spark in you? Anger, sadness, disappointment?

More along the line of.. "When will this be over, she is killing me" Again I LOVED this book but this audio version completely runied what the book originally was!

    Any additional comments?

Pull this and find someone who can acctully read it with feeling and belivable voice overs.. please!!!

    "Good Story... Bad Narration."
Would you be willing to try another book from E. L. James? Why or why not?

The story is very good. The more I listen the more I see that Christian and Anna are based from the Twilight books.

Would you be willing to try another one of Becca Battoe’s performances?

I am not a fan of her performance. I think she makes Anna sound like a child. That is not something I am fond of in a Romance - Erotica book.

What would have made Fifty Shades Darker better?

A different narrator and a better story line

What do you think your next listen will be?

    Vince Flynn's "The Last Man"

What didn’t you like about Becca Battoe’s performance?

Monotonic voice, much like someone reading to a classroom with no feeling or emotion

What character would you cut from Fifty Shades Darker?

I stopped after one hour so I can not answer

    Any additional comments?

I bought this based on the high count of 4 star ratings. I am obviously in the minority.

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

I would recommend this book to a friend. And I allready have. Reason I recommended it is not only because of the scenes that are quite intimate. But the fact that the storyline was well pretrade always leaving you wondering in trying to figure out the clues it was like a Mystery. And most people could relate to this book quite well with their own problems in life the ups and downs of a relationship or very well dictated in this book. Not to mention this book and also teach you of certain techniques that girls me fantasize about. Overall this was a very good

What was one of the most memorable moments of Fifty Shades Darker?

There were quite a few memorable moments in this book. But I am not to mention anything because it would give away some of the book. In order to find the amount yourself you can have to listen or read it. Sorry

    Which scene was your favorite?

My favorite scene in this book was not the intimate scenes. It was more of the scenes of their ups and downs their reality to life their way to find some happy medium. when these two people were considered Polar opposites. Their inability to give up on one another, Still learning secrets about one another trying to understand one another. Learning the more that they learn stronger that they both become I have to say this is the best part.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

Yes and it's pretty hard to listen to a 20 hour book in one day so I had to break it up into three days and pretty much completed this book in three days. It was just hard choosing a spot to stop because it would always be something that popped up to meet you wonder how the scene was going to turn out.

    Any additional comments?

A friend recommended this book to me. And I'm grateful that she did. This is a males perspective. And I'm not one for these kind of books. But the dominant submissive position give me a different outlook that would otherwise not have been betrayed in my life. This book was very interesting. And go even though the descriptions of certain intimate scenes were I think a little overdone it was overall still had a very good storyline in the book.

"It scratched an itch with dull nails"

Yes, after the first book, I was eager to hear the second book, and it was good although not as good as the first. In my opinion the whole trilogy could have been put into 1 book, and saved the excitement you get from the first one.
By the end of this one, I only went on to listen to the third "Fifty shades freed" because I just wanted a explaination as to why it was even necessary since while this book was good, you get tired of the same wording and mindless thinking of Anastasia. Well anyway, I won't spoil it, but if you enjoyed the first book for the exciting and kinky fu#kery LOL then expect pretty much the same but by now you aren't a virgin anymore.

    "Better than the first book."
What could have made this a 4 or 5-star listening experience for you?

    Different narrator.

What was the most interesting aspect of this story? The least interesting?

The hero's story was the most interesting aspect. I wanted to find out his story. The heroine was not interesting at all.

How could the performance have been better?

Getting a narrator with a sultry voice would have helped this performance a lot.

You didn’t love this book... but did it have any redeeming qualities?

The story is ok. It deserves to be read at least once.

    Any additional comments?

TSTL heroines get on my nerves. I have a hard time getting through books where the heroines are too stupid to live.

Would you say that listening to this book was time well-spent? Why or why not?

No, I should have just read the book. The reader was so monotone.

If you’ve listened to books by E. L. James before, how does this one compare?

    No

How could the performance have been better?

    Different voice

Was Fifty Shades Darker worth the listening time?

    No

    Any additional comments?

To much hanky panky, not enough story line
