Taryn Warner is a wolf shifter with extraordinary healing skills - and serious problems. First, her father is determined that she mate for life with a wolf shifter named Roscoe Weston, whom the feisty Taryn can’t stand. To make matters worse, she’s also been kidnapped by Trey Coleman, a dangerous alpha male from another pack. And as much as she wants to resist Trey, Taryn is incredibly, maddeningly attracted to him. When he makes her a tempting proposal that will benefit both of them, the strong-willed healer has to decide whether escaping an unwelcomed bond with Roscoe is worth the risks of mating with Trey, no matter how temporary their allegiance is intended to be.

This should be in a category titled "Violent Pornography". Romance isn't vulgar, graphic, rough sex scenes. The theme seemed to be "I'm raping you because you like it, even if you are screaming and calling me obscene names." I could be wrong because I have never studied wolves, but I'm pretty sure that they don't repeatedly bite and scratch up their mates.
I will not purchase books by this author in future.
Fun, Sexy, entertaining
Maria Snyders, Healers series but much more sexy.
No, this was the first and I loved it. She brings the story to life.
Yes, towards the end of the story when the two main characters finally conquer their fears.
I'm an unrepentant bookworm with too much time on my hands. I read at least 100+ books annually, with audio books as my main addiction!
This was an excellent book. I normally dont write reviews, but felt I had to share for this book and this series (even tho it's only on book 2 as I write this).
It reminded me a little of J. D. Tyler's books. Very carnal and sexy.
I think she did a very good job. She's very good at using different voices to differentiate the characters and doesnt slip up on them like some voice actors do. And yes, I'm calling her a voice actor because of how well she read this book. She really put feeling and life and emotion to the words. If a line stated that the character laughed, she says the line laughing, if they had tears in their voice, she does that too. I think she did a very good job. It's sometimes hard to do books like this because sometimes the sex scenes can come off as odd or cheesy depending on how the reader reads it, but it didnt really in these. And that's important in a book like this.
Oh definitely. I would have but it got to be 3am and I still had 3 hours left and I had to sleep. Put it right back on first thing in the morning tho!
Im going to be very blunt with this. If you are prudish at all, dont get this book. If no inhibitions, a** play, f'ing hard, dominant/submissive, dirty talk, words like c**k, p***y, or a lot of cussing makes you blush, dont get this. Basically if you find this section hard to read, dont get this book. If, like me, you find such things intriguing, DEFINITELY get this book. You wont regret it. Honestly, I cant believe it was so cheap. I didnt even have to spend a credit on it because it was less than $10. And it was worth every single penny. This is a book I will listen to over and over again...as long as I make sure I've got headphones when I do ;)
Taryn the main character is feisty, loveable and throws some really great snappy-one liners. Trey, the male lead is controlled, overbearing, strong and throws some great snappy-one liners right back. The overall theme is romance. This isn't a new plot formula, but it's done really well. There's good character development, great banter / dialogue, graphic romantic scenes, a bit of salty language and a solid performance from the narrator -- this one is fun.
Yes, this book had me at the first chapter. It was all around great
It was funny, sexy, and very action packed I loved the whole story I keep looking to see how much time I had left I never wanted it to end I was sad when the book was over lol
Tarin and Greta loved them and the boys as Greta called them. Dominick with his corny jokes Tarin with her smart ass mouth just loved it
It's so worth a credit hell when I finished this book I had to wait 4 days for my free credit. I couldn't wait Nd bought the second one in this series and can't wait for more
I bought this book some time ago, and I will admit- I'm a finicky woman and sometimes book covers will just rub me the wrong way. I think that was the case here, because once I got started I could not stop listening. I could not stop listening to: go to the bathroom, go to the grocery store, go for a walk (only sane time), and even to bed. So let us get to the reason why this book was so good. It was hilarious, but not with the really crappy one liners that belong on bumper stickers and T's at Hot Topic. No, the main characters had a sense of humor through life's B.S. Plus the heroine was strong and NEVER needed to be saved. She wasn't the "little missus waiting for her time to blossom", bleh. And the hero was well, an alpha male dealing with an alpha female. Plot-wise, this is a romance book and not a thriller. For the most part the author could keep some tension and fun action scenes in a hot and heavy love story. Be forewarned, if you are not into explicit sex, foul language, and erotic play especially dealing with light BDSM and erotic themed content, this book is not for you. And if you do then read it and go "aw-my-gawd this book is so dirty" while laughing the fat cells off your butt. Well at least I hope that's what I'm doing.
Give me more!!!!
Not going to take you through a recap of the summary but I will say that this is one of the best shifter stories (series) I have ever come across! Let's all just jump right onto the honest train and admit that there are a grand many shifter stories that are just a tad bit lacking in..well...plot. This particular series is scorching hot with one hell of a story line. Go ahead, spend the credit. You won't be disappointed!
I haven't scanned the other reviews for this title so I'm not certain what everyone else is saying. I do know that in cases where the alpha male is extremely alpha, there are usually one or two reviewers that are offended and find the male's behavior abusive. If you are one of those reviewers, do not buy this title. This male isn't just an 'alpha male', he (and the heroine) both have very animal like behaviors in this story. "No" doesn't mean "no" in this particular tale. The female wolf requires that he fight her for the right to mate with her. I'm just going on about this because I know someone is going to misunderstand and misconstrue the characters and I hope to keep someone with triggers or who is sensitive to these issues from having a problem with this story.
If you, like me, read the book prior to downloading this audio version, you are going to think you've lost your mind that you purchased the 'unabridged' version but a very memorable, scorching hot scene that includes ALL of the guys is missing as is any reference to that scene. I don't know where the censorship came from and the audio is not lacking without it but it was weird to be expecting it and it not be there. Even the conversations earlier on about sharing were missing so I guess the entire concept was pulled from the story. Like I said, it doesn't hurt the story but I was just expecting it so it threw me off.
As for the narration...SPOT ON PERFECT! Anyone who has read my reviews knows that I get a little crazy over bad narration. Ok, a lot crazy. I mean really, that's why I pay for the audio version after all. But Jill Redfield did an amazing job and I look forward to hearing more of her work along the way.
So five stars all around. So worth the credit!!!
I like shifter stories but man if no one can come up with some new twists soon that genre is so over for me. This series is fairly good, and I will most likely continue with it but it is basically the same story about a different "pack". Narration was good. The best shifter stories I have ever read was the series by Shelley Laurenston and Jennifer Ashley has a good series also.
I love this series! the women characters in these books are the best and there are so many laughable places and the right amount of romance, love and sex!
I would recommend this to all!
Strong and emotive male and female characters. You get to experience and feel the emotional vulnerability of both Tarin and Trey. Sex is explicit, but doesn't feel gratuitous. Narrator is awesome.
Trey, did the male confusion, vulnerability and macho power mix really well.
