Taryn Warner is a wolf shifter with extraordinary healing skills - and serious problems. First, her father is determined that she mate for life with a wolf shifter named Roscoe Weston, whom the feisty Taryn can’t stand. To make matters worse, she’s also been kidnapped by Trey Coleman, a dangerous alpha male from another pack. And as much as she wants to resist Trey, Taryn is incredibly, maddeningly attracted to him. When he makes her a tempting proposal that will benefit both of them, the strong-willed healer has to decide whether escaping an unwelcomed bond with Roscoe is worth the risks of mating with Trey, no matter how temporary their allegiance is intended to be.

Picked up this book under the non-fiction section and was caught off guard by the sex scene. I still like the story line and thought the narrator did a great job.
R rated or X rated, take your pick. This book is not a YA werewolf romance. It's hard core sex, but has it's place in this love story of two very strong alpha wolves. What I like about Taryn, is that she was a strong character, so none of that whiny female always doing the wrong thing and misinterpreting everything going on around her. This female is bold, hardened from her upbringing, but not without her problems. Trey tends to easily go feral from his unfortunate upbringing, until Taryn calms him and his wolf. Not a bad story as the couple form an alliance with their own personal motives, that we all know will eventually end with true love.
Oh My God!
The reader (or listener) is inside the minds of the two main characters allowing the internal struggle to be felt from both points of view.
This was my first listen of this reader. Ms. Redfield is excellent at her craft as she reads the steamy scenes that have me blushing (I checked).
I actually have never heard sex scenes that graphically represented, it was a very nice surprise. The story that went with them helped me to become attached to the characters beyond the carnal escapades.
Onto Book 2.
#1 with a bullet!
When Taryn finally gives herself over to Trey.
You can completely visualize the characters and the scenery! Amazing!
in terms of plot, this book lacks strongly. basically, what you learn early on about the general plot from the summary is what you should expect. There is 1 mystery that i had a fun time trying to guess, yet I was underwhelmed when the mystery was resolved. What made me dislike the book was the dominant/submissive personalities.
Basically the main female lead is a dominant type, meaning she wont give in to anyone, and since shes an alpha as well, not even her own alpha can command her to do anything. this all carries into sex, where the female lead is fighting and cursing her alpha while lusting and wanting sex. its a retarded thing because after all that fighting and cursing(quite colorful cursing I might add), she is content and sexually sated. its it gives off the impression that this book is aimed at women with rape fetishes. it makes no sense at all when your listening and it ultimately makes half the book less interesting. skip this one as its crap...
I bought this audio during one of Audible’s sales and got a really good deal on it. Several other friends have heard this one and LOVED it and for some reason I STILL hadn’t started it. Well shame on ME!!
Feral Sins is a werewolf shifter novel. The books started out with a BANG. Taryn having been drugged an dragged to places unknown. Upon meeting each other the chemistry started between Taryn and Trey. Trey is one SEXY ALPHA!! Taryn is one smart mouthed bitch of an alpha female and they are a great match. It was nice to get back to a shifter/PNR book as I haven’t read nor listened to one in a long time. This one was very refreshing.
I don’t have many complaints except I thought the book was a little longer than it needed to be AND I thought some of Taryn’s humor was a little over the top. Coming from ME, the sarcastic person that I am, I thought some of her antics were just too much. I understood making Trey fight her for dominance in the bedroom but calling him all sorts of weird crazy names mid-act was just a little weird.
Most of the sexy scenes were SMOKING HOT and I loved Trey’s dominant alpha self in the bedroom. I also enjoyed his dirty talk! Yum!
I’m ready to dive into the next book NOW! :-)
Narrator: Jill did a great job. All her voices were very distinct. There’s a lot of characters in this book and I was able to tell the difference between everyone based on her voice. Her male voices were great as well as her voice for Greta the great grandmother. I look forward to hearing more from Jill in this series and others.
Angry, hot, sex.
The whole story was great! The moments of passion and the battles were really well written and performed!
I LOVE Jill Redfield's narration! I've gotten to a point where I'm not searching for books as much as I'm searching for Jill and her performance! She is a very talented narrator that is able to switch from one role to the next without missing a beat and she's consistent.....and believable! Her stellar performance has made the difference for whether I get sucked into a book or not. And when it comes to acting out scenes of passion, no one does it better than Jill!!!
More Jill Redfield narration, please!
The story line, the character, it was all around a great book
The way she brought the characters to life. Regardless of what was going on, she took me to that moment!
Yes! This is the first audio book I have listen to in less than a 48 hour setting. I FOUND time to listen to it, and even though it was a great book, this was due to the narrator.
The story was good, and moved along well.
I liked the action and romance.
The girl was very sassy and Jill portrayed her well.
I laughed out loud quite a bit.
The real sin here is that this book got published. There’s clearly such an insatiable market for paranormal “erotica” that anything will be published these days. I can just imagine the pitch that sold it - Mercy Thompson meets Bared to You meets The Highlander’s Reward..
There was no paranormal world development because, hey, who needs to when cashing in on other writers’ concepts. So, I was already annoyed when the real focus of the book – the “Bared to You” cloning – was revealed.
Don’t get me wrong, I like a good blow-by-blow sex scene; it’s the S & M tone of this book and other “erotica” that I find unfathomable. How is more than slightly misogynistic sex – with seduction consisting of “I’m going to f... you” and threat of sodomy foreplay - that erotic? Tell me, how strong is a woman character who enjoys not so subtle debasement? With the paranormal element, it’s clearly aimed at women though the sex is more like your age old porno for men!
I bought this as the 3rd book in a 2-for-3 sale so I guess there is no point in returning it. If only I could get that 2 hours back and spend it listening to Mercy, Sookie and a very few other original and entertaining series again. At least I didn’t’ waste the whole 12 hours!
