Filling in the required 20 words for a review... Lily is a dumbass and a very sad disgrace to everything female that exists with a backbone yet in the last few minutes she manages to fight not one but two buff "very tall men with muscles upon muscles" - the author's words, not mine! - AND escape unscathed. Verry NOT believable. Stone is a very iffy dumbass dom wannabe, who dutifully parrots domly words but doesn't show a hint of dominance, yet she submits to him where she wouldn't submit to one of the strongest most experienced doms at the club. Yeeeeah.
Liked the reader's voice (VERY the sort of voice I like), but damn, even he couldn't pull this disappointing book up by more than one star, mainly because of the dumbass dialog and story that I could well imagine him cringing as he recorded it.
Well, Audible required words, and words they have received.
I may be addicted to audiobooks. I love my husband and my kids but I get a chance to escape with the books and be someone else for a while
Emotional and heart wrenching this book takes you into Sweet Peas life, a receptionist who works for Thorpe at Club Dominion. She's spent the last half a decade trying to fly under the radar attempting to escape from a terrifying past. Enter in Stone Sutter, a con who tries to get Sweet Pea (aka Lily Taylor) to testify for the feds against the man she's been hiding from.
This book has everything... mystery, drama, love, lust, betrayal all wrapped up in one of the best books I've ever listened to. Shayla Black is a literary genius and Christian Fox does an absolute stupendous job playing the roles of all the key players. My only complaint is that the book has to end. I hope there will be other installments to the 'Wicked Lovers Series' and we won't have to wait too long to hear them.
Trust me when I tell you that this book will rock your world to the utter core!!!!
the story was somewhat predictable. The performer is often staccato and fast so it makes it hard to understand the story at times.
