As the son of a serial killer, homicide detective Thomas “Veck” DelVecchio, Jr., grew up in the shadow of evil. Assigned to monitor Veck is Internal Affairs officer Sophia Reilly, whose interest in him is both professional and arousingly personal. And Veck and Sophia have another link: Jim Heron, a mysterious stranger with too many answers... to questions that are deadly. I'm OVER the Homo-Eroticism

BLUF (Bottom Line Up Front) - This was just an OK performance by Ward. This is NOT a book you can't put down. The scene setting takes about 8 hours and then the plot twists and turns start to unveil themselves, and though not as graphic there are as many male-on-male "interactions" as there are between the two main characters.

Plot - Though the storyline took a while to develop there were some interesting twists at the end. I have to say that while there were a few things that caught me "off-guard" Wards books have started to become more predictable. I would speculate that trying to push out 1 book per year in 3 series (Byrd, BDB & Angels) as opposed to 1 (BDB) has something to do with it. And as mentioned in the title and BLUF, now there are even more gay/bi-sexual characters in her storyline. So now of the 7 Angels recurring in this storyline 4 of them have homosexual tendencies. I don't have an issue with homosexuals I just don't particularly want to read about it. If making all of her characters gay/bi-sexual (Blay/Qhuinn, the 4 from this book, Vishous, etc) is the "twist" that Ward is going to use to keep her books interesting I think I'll find a new author. I will definitely wait for some written reviews before I pick up the next book in the series!!!

Narrator - Awesome job. As with any good audiobook they brought back the same narrator from the previous two books and Mr. Dove does a great job. He is quickly working his way to the top of my list of favorite narrators.

Best so far

I liked this book best of the three. I found the story compelling and more mysterious. Veck is very intriguing and I am interested to see where the main characters go from here.

J.R. Ward and her Fallen Angels!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I found J.R. Ward several years ago, reading all of the Black Dagger Brotherhood, when I saw this series I thought there way no way she could do better. I was WRONG-this series is even better, when I finished this book, I was sad that I'm going to have to wait months for the next book. I highly recomment this series, will worth it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Yes!! This is J.R. Ward after all!!

Alright, so this series didn???t start with the bang that The Black Dagger Brotherhood did, but I must tell you, this series is certainly getting better and better, and J.R. Ward shows us with this novel that not only can she hold us captive to the BDB world, but she???s more than capable of doing it again with her Fallen Angel???s world and its characters.
Eric G. Dove does a good job bringing these characters and story to life, not in the dramatic way of Jim Frangione (narrator of the Black Dagger Brotherhood) but in a matter fact tone that gives this world its own vibe.
His approach to the sensuality in this book is excellent, the tone and manner of delivery of all male characters are very good, plenty of variations, my biggest complaint is the very little distinction between the female voices, but it???s not bothersome enough to distract you from the story, within a few minutes of listening you find yourself completely absorbed, and entirely disregarding the sometimes unemotional tone of Mr. Dove.
Ultimately, I highly recommend this audiobook, in my opinion, the best one of the series thus far.

Not what I expected!

I love JR Ward's Black Dagger Brotherhood and the Fallen Angel series, but what is with all the homosexual content?!?! I don't spend money on these books to get into the head of a gay angel...this is just too much for me. I hope JR Ward reconsiders the direction of the Fallen Angel series. The book is well written in typical JR Ward style with all kinds of twists and turns. I am just left with an icky tastes as the gay characters leave me turned-off!

Envy

Ohh things are heating up in the Fallen Angels world, Davina’s infatuation with Jim is becoming something I fear is going to blow up big and I CAN’T wait!
The chemistry between Veck and Reilly was pretty hot, though sometimes I wanted to shake one or the other. Esp, when Reilly really loses all faith in who Veck is, makes me shake my head.

I’m loving the Angels parts of these books and I look forward to seeing where it’s going to go.

I very much enjoyed the narration this time, I knew he would start to grow on me.

Fallen Angels series is still good

I have really enjoyed listening to JR Ward's Fallen Angel series. Definitely start at the beginning, though, so you can better understand what's going on. I had moments of laughing out loud, as well as moments with tears streaming down my cheeks, as I listened to this one. I would caution those who have issues with the F word, homosexuality, and occasional but somewhat graphic sex scenes. That being said, though, I am truly enjoying the relationships Ward is developing with her characters, and look forward to the next in the series. Eric Dove does a fine job at narration, too. After listening to the first two in the series, I highly recommend you snatch this one right up!

Good book

I like the book, but... There are just a few things that tiptoe on the side of "Ummm, I can't believe you have to Male Arch Angles screwing each other and one getting gang raped by a hoard of demons. I could have lived without a few of the details. I am not religious, not gay but reading this doesn't hurt my feelings, however the ideas the purpose is based on is slightly contradictory. Of course I am not sure if that is the reason I like the book and raising an eye-brow at the same time.
