Publisher's summary

I have a confession.

I hate bachelorette parties.
A night of awkward dancing, penis-shaped straws and being told “you're next, Kaitlyn!”
Even worse: It's hosted at a super swanky Miami club where I stick out like a sore thumb.
Couldn’t get any worse, right?

Enter Mr. Tall, Dark and I-didn’t-know-they-made-people-this-gorgeous.
Grump supreme. His scowl has a scowl.
Especially after I knock a drink onto a VIP and myself.
He must be the manager of the club because he has keys to the penthouse above it.
A penthouse he offers to let me change clothes in.
A penthouse we screw all over.
Then, he gets a call and kicks me out. Jerk.
Told you it got worse.

Ready for worser?
First day at my new job as a nanny and Mr. Grump is my boss.
James Morris.
Billionaire club owner, deal maker, and first grade bosshole—if the tabloids are to be believed.
Also a single dad to an adorable daughter who needs my help.

But there's no way I can take this job—every time I look at him, I’m back in that penthouse.
And from the way his jaw clenches when he looks at me, he’s thinking the same.
Then he tells me why this has to work. Why he needs me. Why I can’t say no.

New confession?
I hate my boss.

Great story but…

Great story had lots of twists and turns. Only dislike was the female narrators voice, literally breathy the entire time just made it more annoying to hear.

A One-Night Stand with a Billionaire is Brilliantly Priceless!

Wow. Just…wow.
This book blew me away. The first paragraph hooks you in as our main lady, Kaitlyn, literally trips on nothing and sends the club crashing down, also literally.
The characters are so flushed out, relatable, engaging, and memorable; you go on this journey with them, The writing style draws you in (I listened to it in two sittings,) lovelily written. I was awwwing and beaming hard, feeling deep emotion that reflects real situations, nail biting about the mystery, and the steam…Whew! Bring a fan!
Although this title is Mr. Grump, I found James charming, driven, and caring. Everything he did was for his darling daughter and it was expressed powerfully. And yes, he was rich, which enhanced the fantasy components of his realistic fiction wonder.
Then our leading lady, Kaitlyn. Her dream for a family. Her professional passionate nature while being charm and innocent. The bond she as with her sister (who rose to be such a delightful character,) is inspiring. You experience her feelings deeply.
But our star is the angelic, bright, and adorable four-year-old daughter of James, Harper. The trauma she had to go through and how her father will do anything for her, how Kaitlyn uses her training and good heart to help her…How they handled in the book dealing with children’s mental health, trauma, and how we, adults, are their advocates. I am a teacher of alternative school children and see these behaviors every day, breaking my heart. The coping strategies and parental rapport represented in the story was expertly written. Thank you.
What makes this book for me was how it was brought to life by Lexi Evans and Logan Anare. They are perfection and I will continue to listen to every book this duet narrators! Their range of emotion was blindly flawless here, their chemistry fitting to the letter for James and Kaitlyn. The range they had to go to stays with you long after you finished. This is one of my favorite romances of theirs I’ve ever listened to; I could see every scene in my head thanks to them. And you can tell they immerse themselves in their characters and have fun with it.
And Lexi’s little girl voice is too cute!
One of the best books I’ve listened to in awhile.

James and Kaitlyn

Excellent story. I was expecting James to be a grumpy curmudgeon, but he was not. James is a devoted father, a sweet and caring guy. Kaitlyn is a child therapist, who is starting a new job. Surprise, the job is with the one night stand she just had! That brings an interesting dynamic to the situation. The author did a great job with the little girl, her reactions, which brought a bit of realism to the story. The relationship between James and Kaitlyn was entertaining but had a feel of fantasy. The story was well written, and the characters were interesting. I am interested in more stories by the author. I received a free copy of this audiobook and am voluntarily leaving my review.

I Enjoyed It

This was an engaging and enjoyable story about Kaitlyn and James who when they realised their attraction to each other agreed to spend one night together, with no expectations of anything further. But all that changed because of a phone call received in the middle of their one night.

A new job opportunity opens up and Kaitlyn is hired by James to be a nanny/therapist for his daughter although everything seems to be going well some tough discussions will need to be made.

The two main characters, James and Kaitlyn are very different but despite that or maybe because of it the work, they balance each other but love was never part of the deal, James is very protective of his home and family and quite closed off will he allow Kaitlyn in? Lots of angst as everyone deals with past trauma so that they can move on. James and Kaitlyn really did need to communicate better though.

I loved the narration by Lexi Evans and Logan Anare

An inferno of temptation that awakens the senses and shakes up the heart. Kaitlyn and James bring the burn. From alpha tendencies to emotional upheaval, Mr. Grump is Leslie North at her finest.

Mr Grump

The first book in the Billionaire Bossholes series. Kaitlyn and James meet when he sees her in his club then she gets a tray of drinks spilled on her. He also has a daughter Harper who has had something happen to her and needs help. James is a very caring Dad, but he will make a mistake with Kaitlyn. I enjoyed seeing them get their happy ending.

Fantastic!

Wow! The narrators did an amazing job bringing James and Kaitlin to life. This book was such an emotional rollercoaster. Very well written characters and plot. I was entranced from the first chapter. James and Kaitlin have a very memorable one night stand only to realize she is his new employee. These two try to fight the chemistry between them but it ends up being a lost cause. They both have baggage and have a hard time trusting people, for good reason. I adored all the characters especially Harper. Love their HEA. Definitely a must read. I can not wait to delve into the rest of the series.

Torn Between Love and Frustration On This One

This is by far my favorite Leslie North story I've read so far; it's so very well-written. I LOVE the discussions on childhood mental health and how seriously everyone takes Harper's issues--and how naturally the author brings in a scene with the grandparents to address consent and body autonomy issues for children. It's fantastic. I love the characters, the relationships, the support systems. I love most of it.... however, as amazing, intelligent, strong, and capable as Kaitlyn is, she's frustrating AF in sooooooo many moments of this book. Seriously? Some of the choices that she makes, given her job, and her education, and her understanding of human nature makes zero sense, and it makes everything that results feel like melodrama. Also, I wanted to shake James more than once. Leslie North captured the crushing emotions Kaitlyn experienced so beautifully it actually made my chest ache for him each time something dramatic happened between them. It's an excellent novel. I loved it (despite the melodrama).

Really good

So the storyline is excellent! I loved the depth of the obvious research that went into this. Just really well done. Th romance really felt like the side story, but it too was well done.

The narration was excellent as well. They are both new to me and I’d definitely recommend them.

The only criticism I have is the grand gesture that the MMC made in his effort to win back the FMC. It was over the top and not believable- cheesy even.

Otherwise I really liked this one and I’m going to listen to more in the series.

Poor audio quality prevents full enjoyment of a good book

I recommend you read the book! There’s a faint amount of distortion or static you can clearly hear during the pauses and during the narration. Especially the male narrator’s part, which also sounds like he’s not close enough to the microphone when he’s speaking.

This is an older book published a few years ago but released as an audiobook only a few months ago. Audiobooks from later in this series have release dates before this one, even though they were published afterwards. It’s almost like the audio for the female narrator has been updated at a higher quality, but not for the male narrator.

I loved the duet narration! The characters and plot were enjoyable. The narrators are talented. I’ve seen some feedback that people don’t like the female narrator so much, but I enjoyed both and thought they were fabulous.
