Deep within the forests of the Pacific Northwest, two vampire coalitions battle for supremacy: Guardian enforcers who safeguard humanity, and Darkbloods, rogues who kill like their ancient ancestors.
Alfonso Serrano is a hunted man. For months he's managed to elude the Darkbloods, vengeful foes who won't rest until he's dead. But he still craves one dangerous temptation: Lily DeGraff, the sexy Guardian agent he'll risk anything to protect.
Lily is a wanted woman. Her talent for tracking Sweet—a rare blood type that's addictive to vampires—makes her a prime target for enemy capture. Her only hope is the stealthy vampire operative who stole into her bed... then left her in despair. Danger aside, Lily won't let Alfonso near her heart again—until an irresistible hunger threatens to draw them back together... and into an assassin's snare.

I am a BIG fan of the J.R. Ward's Black Dagger Brotherhood novels, and let me be the first to say that if you are searching for a series to feed your BDB obsession - this series is it! The narration is SUPERB! The story is well written, and each book is heavily linked with the story before it. The characters and the plot sequence are well executed... I'M HOOKED! I can not wait for the next release in the series! I HIGHLY RECOMMEND IT!
To accomplish great things, we must not only act, but also dream; not only plan, but also believe.
Too bad this isn't the first book in the series. I like to start series from the beginning. Unfortunately Audible didn't label the books.
However, the story was great!!! Excellent plot, likeable characters, great world building and satisfying conclusion.
You won't be disappointed.
This series continues to bring us a new type of paranormal romance story. It's about the good vamps (Guardians) who fight against the evil vamps (Darkbloods) and it throws in some interesting characters along the way for us to love and/or hate coupled with an entertaining and totally enjoyable storyline.
In my opinion, nothing beats Black Dagger Brotherhood by JR Ward, but this is along the same lines of a 'brotherhood of warriors' and comes in a close second.
Worth a credit? Oh yea !!!
This is a good follow up to the first book.Alfonso,Dom's misunderstood brother from the first book is our hero. He sees himself as not good enough to have any happiness in life, after his double agent status as been revealed. His love, Lilly has her work cut out for her but she is a strong woman and a valued member of Dom's team. I liked the story but the narrator is starting to grind on my ears. It would have been nice if she kept Lilly voice the same texture as in the first book. But as predicted she takes on Mackensie's voice from first book. But the story is good enough to warrant me want to continue on to book 3.
Fear is the mind Killer, so Face Your Fear
It was enjoyable part of the time
40% of the book relates to erotica. More story, less erotica.
very vivid story telling
I like the narrator and the characters have a ton of potential
