Publisher's summary

Everything's bigger in Texas - including romance, magic, and danger!

Katie Chandler has fled fast-paced Manhattan and returned home to a simpler life, working at her family's feed-and-seed store in Cobb, Texas. In a painfully selfless gesture, Katie had left the sexy wizard Owen Palmer to battle his demons in the magical realm–after all, Katie just seemed to attract evil, which only made Owen's job a lot harder. But now it seems that trouble has followed her home: Despite the fact that Merlin, Katie's old boss at Magic, Spells, and Illusions, Inc., has assured her that Cobb is free of enchantment, (magically speaking), Katie begins to notice curious phenomena. Cobb is being plagued by a series of inexplicable petty crimes and other devilish mischief, and after her experiences in Manhattan, Katie knows "unauthorized magic" when she sees it. As this new darkness strikes deep in the heart of Texas, Owen appears (literally) to investigate. Now Katie's friends and family must show the bad guys why it's bad luck to hex with Texas, while Katie and Owen combine their strengths like never before to uncover a sinister plot before evil takes root in the Lone Star State.

Another Fun Read

If you could sum up Don't Hex with Texas in three words, what would they be?

The Family, too?

What other book might you compare Don't Hex with Texas to and why?

It reminds me of the Juliet Blackwell series about the good witch who owns a vintage dress shop. Because that series also deals with a modern day woman confronting magic and they are lighthearted fun reads, too.

Which scene was your favorite?

The reappearance of the Red Shoe

If you were to make a film of this book, what would the tag line be?

Great, uplifting series

I started this series because there are 9 books available and I've been left hanging waiting for the next book to many times. I am really enjoying it, I smile and even laugh with each book. It's got a great story line and strong characters.

I love these stories!

Finally Katie and Owen have acknowledged how they feel about each other. Eva Wilhelm is very good; I just wish her Katie voice were a little more refined. But after all Katie is a small town girl from Texas and I love her moxie!

Better than expected!

I think the title threw me off. I didn't see how the story could be good in Texas. But it was great!

still on board

still liking this series very much despite its silliness. I am very invested in katie and owen relationship (although the continuous need of the author to split them up makes me fear that she doesn't know how to write a relationship, just the prelude to it). I enjoyed getting to know katie's family as well.
i should probably stop here while I'm ahead but watch me having already ready book 5 in my library!!

Great fun for Texans

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

I recommend this book for people who are looking for some lighthearted fantasy with a twist of romance. .

What other book might you compare Don’t Hex with Texas to and why?

All the Enchanted, Inc. books reminded me for Janet Evanovich Plum series, but this one even has Grandma.

Any additional comments?

After living in Texas for 25 years there were a few things that I really got a kick out of about Texas.

Better

I like the story idea, but sometimes the author does not put in as much effort. Or so I think. I am ever hopeful

Stupid!

I listened for about an hour (forced myself) and never went back. What an awful waste of a perfectly good credit!
