I wanted to kill the hero!

Dude what an a$$! Luc made me crazy! With all the back and forth I really felt for Alyssa in this book. I wanted to kick him in the nuts and tell him to just leave her the hell alone! Yes, okay so he was there for her and all that, it was hot but I seriously cried for her more than once. (I'm not one to cry). Her emotional upheaval was mind boggling! He ended up changing enough for me not to want to kill him. I really like Alyssa, she was full of fire and sass. A great combination! Though she seemed self assured and strong on the outside we got to see into her heart and her completely vulnerable side which was awesome! What a stand up human being!

Overall, book was good, great even just Luc made me crazy, but I guess that is what really makes it great, I was completely emotionally involved in this one.

A little too much drama

It was just always one more thing after another. I kept thinking okay thats enough drama and it will finally get to the point. But every time it was always something else following the same type of plot twist, she puts herself in some stupid situation she almost gets her someone saves her at the last minute. It got exhausting after a while. I usually love this author but this book was just exhausting.

The title says it all!

I am so glad more of Shayla Black's books are coming to audible. This is a great series. I love Luc and was glad to hear his story after his part in Deke's story. Shayla Black is the master of erotica. Her books are not just a steamy love scenes but have a great story. This one keeps you guessing all the way through. Everytime you thought you knew who was causing all the problems she throws you a twist. Shayla's next book in this series comes out Nov 12 th and I can't wait to hear Hunter's Story.

This is an adult book with very erotic love scenes so please know what you are getting when you get this book and don't give bad reviews because you did not take the time to read others reviews. If you are a fan of Fifty shades of grey you will love this series and the men in this series.

Narration takes some getting used to; Story was OK

I wasn't a big fan of Lexi Maynard's narration but it grew on me. I thought she sounded too young (too YA-sounding for this type of novel) and she made all the female characters' voice too high and ditzy-ish.

I would've preferred Clarissa Knightly or Jill Redfield--from all the "more steamier" romances I've listened to so far, they do the best narration for these type of novels.

I've been wanting to check out this series because I heard great things about the author. But since menage and hardcore BDSM are not my cup of tea, I skipped the first 2 books in the series. When I heard this one featured a monogamous couple, I picked it up. It can be read as a standalone.

The book overall was a good read (or in this case, listen). I really liked Alyssa's character and how independent, self-sufficient and strong she was. As for Luc, his jealously, how he judged Alyssa because of her profession (she's a stripper) and his unwavering belief that Alyssa was having an affair with her bodyguard Tyler got old really fast. I was annoyed by him for most of the book and I wish he groveled more in the end.

As for the "mystery" part, I was easy to figure out early on. But, jeez, there were so many scums were after Alyssa! I felt really bad for her--the author really made her suffer in this novel with emotionally with Luc's judgmental words and actions and with all the bad men after her. There was an almost rape scene that was pretty graphic so be warned if you're the type to avoid books with that.

I'm considering getting the other book in the series with a monogamous couple, Mine to Hold, which is Tyler's book.

Entertaining and hot

I loved the main protagonist : strong woman, smart; but that guy...Luc, just got on my nerves at the beginning. Slow learner, manipulative, selfish and judgmental...

but, he has some tricks up his sleeves witch made the "sexy times" very hot!

There is a clear pattern in these series, but I'm not here to analyze them...It is internaining, clever at times, and the sex scenes are imaginative...and that's what I was looking forward to. So yes, I would recommend this book 😘

loving the series

I love series that follow characters that we were introduced to in previous books, I was so team Luke and couldn't wait for his story. this was disappointing his character was off..shallow, mean and the multiple twists were boarderline ridiculous...I like S.B so I will buy the next book but... also the actress didn't sell me her voice work wasn't very good in this story

I almost couldn’t finish the book. The inner thoughts of both of the main chars was like a broken record.

He's a man but she's A WOMAN

Do not listen to this is a public surrounding, it starts hot and keeps you there. Luc is the man but Alyssa is a woman who wants him and will use what she has to get him. These two are the best characters in the series because their story has been building up from the others books. We know Luc has a plan and we know why, but he should have told Alyssa because she intends to rock his world. When he loses control theres only one woman who can satisfy him. I also like the introduction of our other love interest Tyler, a girl can't go wrong there.
Lot's of unexpected suspenseful events in this one, I could not predict who our main villian could be.

Delicious is a delicious story!

I loved this story! I'm usually not one for cat and mouse love stories but this one was such a treat! I could totally identify with Alissa. I wanted to punch Luke a time or ten but he really grew on me. And, I REALLY like Tyler too.

Alyssa & Tyler were Delicious, Luc was Bland

When I started listening to Delicious last summer, I really liked the character of Alyssa - smart, spunky and strong . I got sidetracked by another series and just now rediscovered this book in my library.

Well, the 2nd time around, I found Alyssa (club owner) even more engrossing and Tyler (her bouncer) to be a total sweetheart. However, Luc left me cold. In book 2 of this series, Luc tried to use his cousin Deke and Kimber to create the family he couldn't have by himself. So not my idea of a romantic hero.

In Delicious, Luc to ready to marry a woman he doesn't love because he wants kids and his wife to be a stay-at-home mother. What a sexist! I notice he doesn't offer to give up HIS career to change diapers and drive carpool. Luc assumes that Alyssa can't be sexy, independent and a loving mother.

Sadly, it took the entire book for Luc to get his head out of his ass and quit judging Alyssa for her former occupation (stripper). Ironically, Luc & Alyssa first met when she was the entertainment at bachelor party where Luc was partying. So it was okay for Luc to watch a stripper, but something wrong with a woman who is a stripper - what a double standard!

While Shayla Black is an incredibly gift writer, I would like to see her create more enlightened male characters and less cavemen. I'll bet there are women like me who think secure, mature, and caring man are much sexier than dominating jerks.
