Krysta is used to getting the drop on vampires. Her "special abilities" aren't much, but the plan is simple - she plays helpless pretty young thing to lure them in. Then her shoto swords come out and it's bye-bye, bloodsucker. Until one night she finds herself with an unexpected ally. He's a vampire, all right, but different. Mysterious. Handsome. And more interested in saving her skin than draining it. Etienne has been an Immortal Guardian for two hundred years-long enough to know that Krysta is special. He can't stop thinking about her long legs, even more than her short swords. Then he discovers the vamps she's exterminating have friends in high places, and the Guardians are in danger, too. He'll have to accept Krysta's help to save them. The stakes for a mortal are high. But the cost to his heart might be higher . . .

Kristen Potter makes me feel like I'm actually part of the story. I feel like I'm right there in the book. It helps that the story line was written well also.
I love to read. Always have & always will. Audible makes it possible when I can't sit and read. Audio brings great stories to life!!!!
Krysta and Etienne are wonderful together. I have to say they are definitely my favorite immortal couple so far. I laughed the entire time. Talk about made for each other, they certainly are!!!! 😍😍😍
Etienne has always been one of me favorite characters. Krysta brings the modern world to the group and Etienne handles it well. True he isn't as old as some of the others but the connection is electric.
Exciting adventures, and great story! But I really enjoyed the humor.
Zack and Amy
Yes, and actually I listened to it twice!
Better than many
When you find out Zack isn't the bad guy
yes, she is very good at character development
I laughed out loud several times. Way to much mush in this one, didn't fit in well with the storyline. In the middle of a battle, turn to each other "I love you" really!
I really enjoy this series. It has a good plot that draws you, but the romance just did not fit in as well as the first 3 books.
Give me water to swim and surf in. That with a glass of white wine and the sun. That's heaven.
I never read the print version, but I loved the audio edition.
Darkness Dawns is of a similar formula for the story.
When Christa and Shawn take Ettienne to meet their parents.
Yes, but it took two.
The Story and character's are very good I found myself wanting all the Series
For me it's never just one character I want to get to know them all
The book was well read by her for me I love Audio books to listen to in the car or sometimes just lay in bed and ether read a book or listen to one
Sit don't move from your set you may miss some thing
great writer great story line
I didn't read the print version
Krista = )
She's great! I'd seek out other audiobooks narrated by her = )
The end! I couldn't believe that the story was over = ( I'm ready for the next book, like right now!
I love the narration and the story line was hotter than ever! What a great series = ) I’m anticipating what’s to come since it left off at such an interesting plot point…
The action and excitement, the books flows smoothly and constantly moves forward.
