CAN'T I GIVE IT 10 STARS??

This may be my favourite so far, but anyway they just keep getting better and better as KC delivers yet another powerful Immortals Dark story. Join Cadeon who's a slob of a mercenary demon Prince - but who is also soooo loveable, funny, handsome and thoughtful, and his mate Holly (a geeky math teacher with OCD) as the battles starts.

He battles his desires, his mating urges, his enemies but most of all HOLLY as the road trip from Hell is taken by the two bickering lovers. It's a fun filled, laugh out loud journey but it has it's touching, tender and sexy moments too. There's characters from past books who weave their way into this imaginative tale by a very creative storyteller.

This was written in 2008 so, on behalf of all KC fans we want to know WHERE'S THE REST??? Kiss of a Demon King is next (Rydstrom's story) and there's 6 after that.

Robert Petkoff - you're the best and I'm sure there could be a fan club just for you.

Worth a credit? Errr What do you think I'm going to say YES YES YES.

Tied for Fave of Series: Audiobook Does JUSTICE!

If you could sum up Dark Desires After Dusk in three words, what would they be?

Erotic, Action-Packed, Cade.

What did you like best about this story?

CADEON! Ugh! I've ADORED him since I first read this book and every time she adds a new book, I find myself thinking, "OK...he's tied with Cade". It's so weird that he's my favorite, considering that I consider myself a Lykae {werewolf} Girl and Cade is a Demon, but damn his Good-Hearted Bad-Boyness is just so lovable and enticing. His is such a rugged seduction, so rough-around-the-edges and yet so sweet. And ROBERT PETKOFF does Cade such wonderful justice! Petkoff always does a great job with the males of the Lore, but I think he outdid himself with Cade - from the 'Sith Ifrican' accent to the way he talks to different characters, particularly the way he talks to Holly...PERFECTION!

Have you listened to any of Robert Petkoff’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

I've listened to all of the IAD Audiobooks, of which Petkoff has narrated all but the first, and I think this is the BEST he's done.

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

Oh, I had an extreme reaction alright...IN MY PANTS! JK...ok, not really...jk...I'm TOTALLY serious!

Rubbing Horns

Okay maybe I was wrong. Robert Petkoff can do "Demon" very well too. I've been in the mood to re-visit one of my favorite paranormal series and it's been such a joy. It makes a girl want to go out and find a pair of horns to rub. You never waste your credits on these books.

My Favorite of the IAD finally in Audio.

The author and narrator both shine in this outing from the Immorttals After Dark series. I think this book just really encapsulated the joy and humor that I love about the series. Robert Petkoff does it again. He brings the naughty Woede to life. I think this is my favorite book from the whole series just because it is so funny and also so very sexy.

This is why I buy audiobooks.

Kresley Cole has written about a dozen novels in the Immortals after Dark series and I have been waiting for years for them to be made into audiobooks. The publisher started slowly releasing these about 2 years ago and after a misstep with the choice of narrator for the first release, (the Warlord Wants Forever - a good book, just an odd/distracting choice of two narrators) Robert Petkoff has narrated each subsequent book. He is absolutely fantastic and the books just keep getting better. These are engrossing and funny paranomal romances.

While this is a stand alone novel, one of the best aspects of Kresley Cole's books in this series is the way she is able to weave the earlier characters and storylines into subsequent novels. Families of Valkyries, Vampires, Demons, Humans and Werewolves populate these stories with varying degrees of tolerance for one another. The conflict between the characters is frequently hysterical, the characters dialogue is sarcastic and quick witted, and the adventures, quests and contests very unique. No purple prose. This story is even better if you have read/listened to the earlier books in the series but its not necessary to read them to understand the story. Cadeon's story has been building for several novels - he is attempting to atone for a fateful decision he made centuries ago that cost his brother a kingdom and he has been trying to redeem himself ever since.

Robert Petkoff's narration of this and all the Immortals' novels is flawless and transports you into the story, action and characters because of each distinct, gender appropriate voice that he manages to retain throughout all the books.

Like every great book you can't put down, once you start listening you will want to listen to this in one sitting until the end. Then you can join the rest of waiting for the next one.

Grab these horns and roll!

Seriously, Robert Petkoff should have his own fan-club. He does an absolutely superb job performing this story and I found myself savoring this audiobook like a fine wine. The accents of Cadeon and Ryndstrom are spot on amazing and downright sexy. The way he performs Holly was cute, well-delivered, and not annoying whatsoever--which some male audiobook readers tend to make women. Even the way he performed Groot was hilarious--over the last several novels he's done in this series, he definitely has a honey-sweet way sorcerers speak that he's able to vary but keep on the accent.

Kresley Cole, I've said it before, is amazing. She's able to entwine the steamiest sex scenes and the most high-action climaxes of any author I've ever read. It's so absolutely visual--reading her books is as good as watching a movie with the way she's able to string along our imaginations. There's never a slow moment.

A thing she does really well is her characters--she does not use cookie-cutters. Cadeon is sort of an anti-hero that you're cheering for all the way and Holly is strong, loveable, and hanging onto her sanity by her new-grown claws.

I absolutely cannot wait for the 6th book in the series.

Another Great Book in the IAD series

This series only gets better with each book! Dark Desires After Dusk it the 5th full length book in the Immoratals After Dark series by Kresley Cole, and like many paranormal romance series you COULD read this one without reading the earlier books BUT WHY WOULD you? This series is some much fun and you get to see other characters before and after they find their mate. And you would miss all the hilarious Valkyriev moments.

So Dark Desires After Dusk is about a demon, Cade and a human Holly. Ever since Cade saw Holly he knew she was his mate but since she was only human he's stayed away. Why? Because humans and demons cannot mate. The humans would not make it through the claiming, so Cade has watched over his female from afar. Until....a group of immortals try to kidnap her. That's where everything gets turned upside down.

Cade and Holly embark on a road trip from hell in order to keep her safe. Sexual tension is high and emotions are running wild. Not to mention they everyone wants to kill Holly.

Cole really knows how to write a PNR with humor and high heat levels. And these books are fantasic on audio. Robert Petkoff brings these nutty characters to life. I'm sure I would not laugh as loud if I was reading the books. Robert puts so much dazzle into the Valkyriev women that he has me spitting my drink out at times. And he knows how to make the men with those yummy accents purr. Both the writing and narration for the IAD series is just top notch.

The audios for the series are slowing being released as Robert records them and I can't wait for the next audio, Kiss of a Demon King which releases May 7, 2013.

Another Fabulous addition to the series

What did you love best about Dark Desires After Dusk?

Easy...EVERYTHING!, Kresley Cole always hits it out of the park. She is a very talented writer and each of her book can stand on their own, but I recommend the whole series so you don't miss out on great treat. In this book I just the loved the banter between the characters, made me laugh out loud several times :-) Excellent blend of funny and of course sexy.

Who was your favorite character and why?

Well my favorite characters are always Nix and Regin, cause I know when they show up...I'm going to laugh!

Which scene was your favorite?

I actually loved it when Regin and Nix retrieved Holly from the Artic, hilarious dialog going on there.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

Yup and I pretty much did, just like all of her books ;-)

Any additional comments?

Can't forget to mention the most talented narrator ever Robert Petkoff! He could make me listen to a narration of websters dictionary, yeah he's that good ;-)
