Publisher's summary

When Nell Channing arrives on charming Three Sisters Island, she believes that she's finally found refuge from her abusive husband - and from the terrifying life she fled so desperately eight months ago.

But even in this quiet, peaceful place, Nell never feels entirely at ease. Careful to conceal her true identity, she takes a job as a cook at the local bookstore café - and begins to explore her feelings for the island sheriff, Zack Todd.

But there is a part of herself she can never reveal to him - for she must continue to guard her secrets if she wants to keep the past at bay. One careless word, one misplaced confidence, and the new life she's so carefully created could shatter completely.

Just as Nell starts to wonder if she'll ever be able to break free of her fear, she realizes that the island suffers from a terrible curse - one that can only be broken by the descendants of the Three Sisters, the witches who settled the island back in 1692.

Now, with the help of two other strong, gifted women - and the nightmares of the past haunting her every step - she must find the power to save her home, her love...and herself.

So Beautiful

This is my second listen through of this story.

I didn’t review it way back when so I will do that now.

This story is beautiful. As a second listen it was comforting as I knew the basics of the end but listening to the story unfold just flooded me with comfort and I can see why people have comfort reads and listens.

ANYWAYS 😍 Nell comes to the island a very scared slightly feral cat and she blossomed into a fully aware loving “creature”.

She did this with the support base that Mia gave her. Mia have her the base of full trust with a slight understanding, then Ripley and Zach came along to add to the foundation. The rest of the town added to healing her heart as Nell found her home.

The love story of Nell and Zach that was woven into everything else was beautiful also. They found their way to each other and built their own foundation.

The character of Evan is written so well that he gave me the creeps. People like him truly do exist.

There was only a single narrator for this book and while having a male narrator would have made this book just a smidge better not having one didn’t honestly detract from the listening experience in my mind.

Great story with lots of suspense. Easy to visualize the small town color and atmosphere.

Couldn't wait to finish

Loved the story, but the narration was somewhere between a Disney princess and June Cleaver telling the story. This doesn't bode well for the sexy scenes. I really couldn't wait to finish and move on to the next. Unfortunately, if it is the same narrator, I won't be purchasing.

One of my all time favorite trilogies

Nora Roberts is my favorite author and Three Sisters Island is my favorite trilogy. The reader does a great job with the narrative and with Nell but she ruins the romance with Zachary with her creepy voice.
