Publisher's Summary

She's here to claim her birthright....

Ex-army sergeant Abby Malloy feels no loss after the father she never knew passes away. Still, part of Ezra Malloy's ranch belongs to her, and if the stubborn blonde has to live there for a year with two half-sisters who are strangers to her, so be it. Nothing could stand in the way of her inheritance... except a local sheriff wrapped in snug blue jeans and a sexy grin.

He's here to claim her heart....

Cooper Wilson, the local sheriff and rancher next door, is having his world turned upside down. Abby is all straight talk and sweet, lush curves - the kind of woman who gets under his skin in just the right way. Whereas Cooper has roots in Palo Duro Canyon, Abby's got wings. But he knows she belongs here. If she can stop running from her past, he'll happily lead her to a brighter future, one hot cowboy kiss at a time.

    Story
    "Every girl needs a cowboy!!!"
What made the experience of listening to Daisies in the Canyon the most enjoyable?

the story about the sisters touched me deeply. I have two sister, we aren't close. I think if we ever had to work through tears, fears and hard work as these three did we could be closer.

What did you like best about this story?

During the storm and the cows rushed the house how they pulled together and show the men in the story that they could get the job done without the big strong men.

    Which scene was your favorite?

The big bull sitting on the porch and the moonshine scene. BEEN THERE!!!

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

When Cooper asked Abby to marry him. The was the most beautiful scene I've ever read. That scene made me cry, if I'm ever ask that question I hope it's as special. Oh there is nothing like a Southern man!!

    Any additional comments?

I was saddened to see that there is only two stories in this series. I'm hoping Carolyn Brown will revisit the canyon again in the future

    Story
    "Terrible narrator."
What could have made this a 4 or 5-star listening experience for you?

This narrator needs to read only erotica. She seems to want to be sexy in her reading. Each time I see a book narrated by her since this book I would never purchase it.

What did you like best about this story?

I like the way the story is told. It kept my interest and I wanted to read the rest of the series.

How could the performance have been better?

Talk like a regular person instead of one trying to be a seductress. She ruins the best of books.

What reaction did this book spark in you? Anger, sadness, disappointment?

No I stopped listening to the book and read it myself. I got so disgusted with this narrator.

    Any additional comments?

Please don't let her narrate any of Linda Lael Miller's books. She ruins them.

What made the experience of listening to Daisies in the Canyon the most enjoyable?

Ms Ross is the best and she puts you right on the ranch. I only wish more of the author's work was read by her. I am not a fan of some of the other author's readers and will have to read reviews.
If you like this story, check out Nora Roberts Montana Sky, romance/suspense.

Who was your favorite character and why?

All the girls of course. They make you want to work a dude ranch for a few days and cook good old fashion Panhandle foods.
You have to love Coop, as he epitomizes the great helpful rancher. What girl doesn't love a man who loves good home cooking.

What about Natalie Ross’s performance did you like?

I purchased due to Ms Ross reading this book.
Note: you must listen to her reads on the new 1.25x speed to get the full enjoyment of her talent.
Her range is great, and her hero/males voice is YUM

    Any additional comments?

This is a feel good book for any woman who has always wanted to work on a ranch for just a bit.

"Good story Narrative like a tour guide"

The storyline was very good. Light hearted and enjoyable. The narrator reminded me of a tour guide.

    "Not much conflict"

The characters are believable and the premise is intriguing but there wasn't much conflict to move the story. It was a nice vanilla story. Cooper is a stud.

"Wrong Narrator - Recommend you read the book"

I happen to love Carolyn Brown's books. There is a humor and lightness to them that is lost if you listen to this book. In fact, I stopped listening and started reading and it was as if they were two different books. Natalie Ross is not a bad narrator, but she is the wrong narrator for this type of book. There is an underlying "woe is me" tone to her voice that is completely wrong for Brown's spunky, smart characters. She also has a very forced, unnatural laugh that has an almost snide quality to it - again, wrong for Brown's books. If I were to pick a narrator I would probably choose C.J. Critt.
