The Curse of the Alpha series:
Ainsley Connor is determined to turn her back on her shifter past.
But the wolves of Tarker's Hollow call on her to choose the next alpha, and Ainsley becomes the object of desire for every eligible wolf in the quiet college town.
Surrounded by seductive shifters, all desperate to claim her, Ainsley wants nothing more than to leave the pack behind forever. But her newfound passions will not be ignored.
Ainsley soon finds herself torn between the mysterious stranger with the dark secret, the gorgeous and loyal friend from her past, and the hunky sheriff that wants her all to himself.
And the shifters aren't even the strangest part of Tarker's Hollow.
As she struggles to come to terms with her true nature, Ainsley is thrust into the center of a steamy web of shifters, ghosts, witches and warlocks, caught up in a life-and-death struggle for control of the pack she tried to abandon.
But for Ainsley Connor, the toughest wolf she must face might just be the one inside herself.
A continuing story:
Curse of the Alpha is told in six installments, or episodes, like a TV show. Each episode contains a cliffhanger to entice the listener to tune in for the next one. If you're not a fan of the serial format, all six episodes are also available in a complete bundle!
In Episode 5:
Ainsley makes a powerful enemy. Mysteries are solved and secrets uncovered. How will the pack react when the new alpha is drawn?
In Episode 6:
Ainsley must master her true nature to bring balance to the pack. Will she be able to harness her powers in time to defend the ones she loves?

I Love a great supernatural tale, a Love story, PNR, a Cool Mystery and Most Sci-Fi....if there are vampires, weres or witches in it, that's a plus! Basically I am a 40+ y/o young at heart woman rediscovering the wonderful world of books and am now addicted! Lol I LOVE AUDIBLE!!!!!
I liked it all...and I like that Ainsley finally embraced her wolf...
The vision Ainsley got in her fight for Alpha....
Addison is a decent narrator, she really grew on me....and got better in each book...I would listen to her again...
I got a little nervous for Ainsley there for a minute....but it all turned out the way it was supposed to!
** I was given a free copy of this book in exchange for an honest review **I honestly loved this...I loved how it was wrapped up with romance and a strong female lead..Ainsley and Eric were meant for each other...I like that Ainsley finally embraced her wolf and how she became a natural leader...it just goes to show you that good will always win out...I like that they solved the mystery of the locked chest and I actually think there may be more to come!
2 THUMBS UP AND A RECOMMEND FROM ME...TASHA BLACK IS A GREAT AUTHOR, I HAVE ENJOYED EVERY BOOK I HAVE LISTENED TO!!
Yes, this book has danger, excitement, and mystery making it an excellent read.I highly recommend it.
The lead is my favorite because she is determined and makes her own future despite others trying to tell her what she has to do.
The moment the true alpha is revealed.
I didn't have an extreme reaction but there were moments that made me giddy or gasp in surprise.
There are many twists in this series but it helps to neatly balance the adult content. Yes, wolves are lusty and it's to be expected young unattached wolves are going to enjoy themselves I just find this series drawing me in with the story line and characters more than anything else. The characters keeping growing and maturing with each new development in their world and the way the curve balls keep coming kept me hooked on every word.
Tell us about yourself!
Addison spear wow great voice. I loved reading the series but the book totally put it over the top in excitement.
All of it lol
Only the first 2 parts of this story since the author use her as a voice. But she is good! And I do mean the author and the voice lol
Steamy hot paranormal romance!
What an awesome unbelievably fantastic series. Its so packed full of action, mystery, drama & wildness you will be amazed and pulled on this wild ride from start to finish. I could not put it down. If you love shifters and magic then come take walk on the wild side with the Tarker's Hollow shifters. You will not be disappointed. The author pushs your imagination to new heights.
Best book ever
How it ended you are left felling like she was happy
The characters all had a different voice and dynamic
I cried when it ended I want it to never end
It is set up just like a T.V. In this case a book series it's starts out slow but once you get started you can't stop listening . By the second book you will be hooked.
Loved this entire storyline. Listened to the entire thing on audible.com. I would highly recommend it if you're into paranormal romance and sexy shifters! So good!
I loved this series. The characters are interesting and likable. About to start on the next set. Tasha Black is a wonderful author and the narrator was a pleasure telling the story!
In Book 5 & 6 there is a lot of action going on and a lot of pieces have to drop into place. Without spoilers, there’s not a lot to share about what happened. If you’ve been with the story through books 1-4, then you already know some of the basics:
- Erik and Ainsley are finding themselves more attracted to each other
- Ainsley finds that it is time to draw the alpha
- There’s a fight brewing between her and Clive
- The way everyone says “Cressida” is with exasperation
The story moves pretty quickly with Ainsley discovering a lot more about herself and her family. She also has some pretty big decisions that she has to make. The outcome of whatever she does is going to affect all of Tarker’s Hallow.
I really enjoyed the interplay of the characters and the town. The pace of the story was just right to keep my interest and keep me intrigued. And I certainly wouldn’t have guessed at the last pieces of the story. I hope this isn’t the last for Tarker’s Hallow and most certainly not for Cressida as I think she could have a fabulous side story.
Addison Spears narrated Books 1-6 and did wonderful job. This series was my first for her.
I love Ainsley Conner and all of the Tarker's Hollow wolves! Ainsley goes through some major transformations in this part of the serial. Finally uncovering the truth of what happened to make her run far away from Tarker's Hollow and her destiny, she decides it is time to take her rightful place. Great cliff hanger at the end, leaves me to hope for more to come in Tarker's Hollow!
Definitely one of the top audiobooks.
Although many people may disagree, I love that the series ended on a cliffhanger. This audiobook was action-packed and full of excitement.
Ainsley through and through
Absolutely and I did just that!
I received this book in exchange for an honest review. May contain mild spoilers.
Oh my goodness. There really isn't much that I can say that won't spoil the final 2 books but I will say this Episode 6 contains the final confrontation. Or does it?
Episode 5 focused on the choosing of the Alpha. I was shocked by the Alpha that was actually chosen. It makes total sense but I can say that I really didn't expect that it would happen. So happy that it did though.
Episode 6 focuses on Ainsley and her bada$$ness. She is so smart and outwits the best of them. This episode contains the final battle however you later find out that it is not actually the final confrontation and that there is so much more to come. Can I just say Julian what?!?
Without a doubt I loved this series. I can't wait to start on Fate of the Alpha as I know I'm going to enjoy it just as much!
"Brilliant. I loved it!"
Exciting, suspenseful, riveting.
The book is jam packed with really great characters. Each brought their own unique quirkiness and personality traits that endeared them all to me immensely. Grace was a good and loyal, magical friend to have around. Cressida wasn't afraid to speak her mind. I loved Eric. He's smart, smoking hot, protective and kind. Ainsley's internal monologues were funny and made great entertainment. I liked Ainsley's character the best, probably because she was the lead character and the story revolved around her.
Addison Spear brings atmosphere to the story through her tone of voice and expression.
There was a certain sense of poignancy surrounding the story of Brian that came across very clearly through Addison's performance and I found this very moving. Although the writing would not have been different had I read the book instead of listening to the audio version, my reading of it most certainly would have been at a much quicker pace therefore losing this emotion in the process. The narration slows it all down, allowing the listener to absorb the images and emotions, the story depicts, more intensely.
Yes definitely. I wanted to listen to all episodes 1-6 seamlessly and without interruption.
