Adam, Ethan, and Ryan aren't looking for women. They're looking for a woman. One woman they know will share their lives and their beds. They're losing hope they'll find her, that is until Adam discovers Holly lying in the snow just yards from their cabin. Adam knows she's the one the minute he holds her in his arms, and as soon as his brothers see her, they know it too. The only problem is convincing Holly of that fact - and protecting her from the danger of her past.

Civil War Nut LH
Yes. It's a great fantasy. One woman with three men who dote on her, protect her and rock her world. I read another review that scoffed at how quickly the relationship fell into place, but I look at it as a modern fairytale. Sometimes a person just needs an escape and this book provides it. I gave it four stars because I would have liked more background on the men's family dynamics through the generations. Hoping that's coming in subsequent books. Or maybe that would have detracted from the fantasy. Bottom line is I'd definitely recommend this one as a good escape from reality . . . and the hot sex sure doesn't hurt!
I have really enjoyed other books by Maya Banks, so I thought this one might have promise, but after listening to the dialog leading up to the first love scene I was rolling my eyes time after time. The men were supposed to be so hot and sexy but to me they came across as some strange to-caring freaks with muscles. Then during the first sex scene which was a 4some my mind started drifting to all house chores I had to do that day. I like a book with steamy love scenes but part of that is the build up to them and the author making you feel the excitement of the characters. This just didn't do that. To be fair I couldn't stomach the dialog and since the sex was anything to look forward to I stopped after that first sex scene, so as others said the story might be better towards the end.
the bonding between Holley and the three brothers
when she fought her attacker, and hit him with the rock even after her serious injuries
I like the way his voice changed to fit the characters
I felt good for Holley because she found her backbone
overall great read
i am glad I did not waste a credit for this book or I would have returned it. the first 5 hours are spent with graphic descriptions of mutli partner sexual encounters. not family friendly and would have liked the warning as I tend to listen to books while driving in the car with my children. only the last 2 hours had any real story line to them. buyer be warned
added a warning of content
will not be getting any more Maya Banks books - 1 was enough
Say something about yourself!
Thank goodness I only paid $4.95 for this. Okay, onto the review. Three brothers all destined to share one mate. They aren't shifters or anything, apparently this is what their family does, they had three dads and one mom and they hope to carry on the tradition. The book opens up on page one with one brother checking the mail and poof he sees a woman in the snow at his mailbox (did I mention they live in a secluded mountain area?).... So he brings her into the house and on the way in he knows she's the one...and his two brothers are on board with the plan too by page 2.
If I was on twitter the hash tags would be; contrived drama, foursome, destined mate, unrealistic plot with many many holes, B+ love scenes, and unoriginal plot. Yup that covers it! Not recommended, even if you are just looking for a purely steamy book...it just doesn't deliver.
Overall this book was nothing to get excited about. I usually love Maya Banks but I was disappointed in this particular book, and will not continue with the series even if it were on sale.
At first I was super excited about this book because good eroticas can be hard to find. The first half of the book was fine as far as content, but after a while I got bored with it. The story itself was only okay and had a couple of dumb moments that elicited eye rolls. The heroine was flat, unimaginative and boring; not to mention overly stereotypical with the virgin-but-natural-at-it approach. The sex scenes were mild and a little redundant after the first couple. I liked that the narrator was male though, and I wanted more development for Ryan. I felt like I had the other two brothers figured out pretty quickly and was not proven wrong.
I was impressed with his ability to make 3 brothers near the same age distinguishable, by fitting voice to subtle personality difference! The female voices were much better than many male narrators can manage.
if you're willing to ignore quite a few things about the premise, don't mind the MMMF, etc sex scenes, it is surprisingly enjoyable!
Great story. Read this book years ago, love listening to it.
Haily strong women wanted to take care of her men, not matter what it cost her.
