It's been a long journey. After a harrowing boyhood with his drug-addicted mother, he'd been taken in by the Quinn family, growing up with three older brothers who'd watched over him with love.
Now a grown man returning from Europe as a successful painter, Seth is settling down on Maryland's Eastern Shore, surrounded once again by Cam, Ethan, and Phillip, their wives and children - all the blessed chaos of the extended Quinn clan. Finally, he's back in the little blue-and-white house where there's always a boat at the dock, a rocker on the porch, and a dog in the yard.
Still, a lot has changed in St. Christopher since he's been gone - and the most intriguing change of all is the presence of Dru Whitcomb Banks. A city girl who has opened a florist shop in this seaside town, she craves independence and the challenge of establishing herself without the influence of her wealthy connections. In Seth, she sees another kind of challenge - a challenge she can't resist.
But storms are brewing that are about to put their relationship to the test. Dru's past has made her sensitive to deception and slow to trust. And Seth's past has made him a target of blackmail - as a secret he's kept hidden for years threatens to explode, destroying his new life and his new love.

"[Roberts has] once again crafted a poignant and often humorous tale. True to style, she has also thrown in just enough of the paranormal to tantalize. Guaranteed to please the many fans who were waiting for Seth's story." (Library Journal)
"James Daniels's voice conveys convincing female desire, as well as rough male camaraderie, and singes the listener's ears with Roberts's trademark passion." (AudioFile)
Liked the narrator for the other three books in the series better but this narrator was OK. The books have gotten to be pretty predictable by the time you get to number four but still not a bad read.
you fall in love slowly. and completely. this IS book 4. read the others first!!!! It is always a good read when you contemplate plane tickets after...just to check and see if your characters are there. :)
The series was OK. Not Roberts best, but enjoyable. Chesapeake Blue was the best of the series. I don't know if it is because it winds up the saga and it was enjoyable to see what happened to all the characters or if it was because Seth was so such an engaging main character, but whatever the reason, this book was my favorite in the series!
The first three were good reads, but once I was done, they were forgotten. Seth & Dru's story stayed with me and made me smile.
Absolutely love this book, the series!! I've laughed, I've cried, Nora Roberts is an Amazing author! Out of the four books I can't decide on a favorite, because they are all my favorite.!! You've got to get used to the language in the books, but the pain in the characters feels so real, the joys, the love, the spirits of Ray and Stella Quinn. And it made me cry when Seth had said his dog foolish had died, and then again when they brought him back when Seth was sitting on the dock. These books keep you wanting to read them over and over again! Which I have at least 30 times!!;) I had the books in paper back a few times, unfortunately I wore them out til they were completely unreadable! Then I downloaded the series (4) books on my Samsung Tablet for Nook! I love all of the Nook tablets! Any way, Ms. Roberts, Please write more stories like the Quinn's!! I love your books!!!
Seth is finally where he belongs❤️
