I love being swept away by a new romance and thankfully Audible's ever growing Library means I get to indulge myself over and over again
Pheweee, well I just wasn't prepared for this mind-blowingly phenomenal story - I'd never encountered this gifted Author before, the story sounded good and, call me shallow, but the not too shabby cover caught my attention too!! I also hadn't realized that this was a spin-off from The Spiral Of Need Trilogy so, after this awesome ride, I added the trilogy to my cart straight away.... and I'm eagerly anticipating the listen.
Kelsey is a Meteorologist a Professor watching, anticipating and gaining research information for her Spiral project and teaching her eager students on Tornados and she would oversee their excitement and energy as they went out to storm chase, collect data and report back. Kelsey's strong, capable, independent, talented, professional but she's so much more underneath - she has a reckless side, loves the thrill of storm chasing although she can't do it now because of her job and she's got a wild side... and a sad story too. One night while drinking alone in a Bar Kelsey was mesmerized by a handsome, sexy, tattooed, bad boy biker type who was casually flipping a coin over and over again and, when their gazes met, he confidently walked over to her table. The looks between them were hot, assessing and sexual, the air between them was electric and, with a flip of that coin, Kelsey's life would never be the same again.
Archer West has seen and done it all but, from a child, he knew he couldn't compete with his 'perfect' brother and he felt an outsider for certain reasons which made him rebel, drop out and it drove a wedge between him and the rest of his family. He'd also been addicted to drugs, hit rock bottom, cleaned up and then gone through a painful heartbreaking tragedy so now he's a nomad - never staying in the same place for long. It's just him and his Harley, then one day Archer decides to visit his new nephew - but when he gets into town and stops for a drink he doesn't expect the beautiful, sexy, mysterious blonde with a blue streak in her hair and she was giving off strong 'come get me' vibes. However, with the toss of a coin it was over before it had begun.... or so they thought.
Archer was only planning to visit for days, maybe two weeks max, but he wasn't prepared for the hot sexual chemistry between himself and Kelsey nor did he expect to get drawn into hers and his brother's lives so completely. Which brought out strange new feelings and longings..... but could he change his ways or should he just walk away?
I loved, loved, loved this listen - both main characters were great... especially the sexy bad boy Archer who's a dirty talking hot Alpha with a heart made of pure gold. Nina Lane crammed so much into this storyline - there was angst, drama, humor, tenderness, heartbreak, heartache, tension, thrills, romance, passion..... and some very sexy scenes too. Each chapter's been written so well that I had no problem visualizing each and every scene in glorious detail. This was an emotional roller coaster ride as Archer and Kelsey's agreed 'end date' relationship sparked, sizzled, burned bright, fizzled.... and then spectacularly blew out. Dual POV's, a standalone listen with a HEA ending and both the narrators did a great job at bringing to life this wonderful book.
Worth a credit? Well now what do you think I'm going to say..... yup, you guessed it - not only YES but a million YES' and Nina Lane's books will be an auto download from now on.
