Publisher's summary

MacKayla Lane's ordinary life underwent a complete makeover when she landed on Ireland's shores and was plunged into a world of deadly sorcery and ancient secrets.

In her fight to stay alive, Mac must find the Sinsar Dubh - a million-year-old book of the blackest magic imaginable, which holds the key to power over both the world of the Fae and of Man.

Pursued by Fae assassins, surrounded by mysterious figures she knows she cannot trust, Mac finds herself torn between two deadly and irresistible men: V'lane, the insatiable Fae who can turn sensual arousal into an obsession for any woman, and the ever-inscrutable Jericho Barrons, a man as alluring as he is mysterious.

For centuries the shadowy realm of the Fae has coexisted with that of humans. Now the walls between the two are coming down, and Mac is the only thing that stands between them.

Critic reviews

"Moning's delectable Mac is breathlessly appealing, and the wild perils she must endure are peppered with endless conundrums. The results are addictively dark, erotic and even shocking." ( Publishers Weekly)
"Spiced with a subtle yet delightfully sharp sense of humor...delectably dark and sexy." ( Chicago Tribune)

Very entertaining!

I am 21 years old, everyone around me has been hyped over the twilight series which bored me to tears. Does he love me? Boo. Then in Borders I found a promo of the first couple chapters of this book, hooked I picked up Dark fever, the first book in the Fever series. This series is dark, sexy, and oddly humorous. It's a fantasy tale that saved me during a time I picked up books and never read them, which is not very economical. It's an easy read, an lot's of fun for passing time. I highly recommend this.

One of my top 5 favorite series!!

Would you listen to Bloodfever again? Why?

I have read it at least 3 times and listened to it once. I am sure I'll listen to again.

What do you think your next listen will be?

Clockwork Prince

What about Joyce Bean’s performance did you like?

Nothing. I really don't like her as Mac. She just sounds too old to portray her and her southern accent is way too phony. I live in South Georgia and I do not know anyone who sounds like that. It sounds like she should be reading Gone With the Wind.

AWESOME SERIES

What made the experience of listening to Bloodfever the most enjoyable?

Ok...this series makes me just gush. Love the reader I visualize Reese Witherspoon as Makayla Lane when I hear her read. And for Jericho who knows but he has to be hot hot hot....the books are great I can't put them down. They are my grown up Harry Potter Series.Get them read them over and over and over. I started out in hardcover books and still have those but love listening to them also. Think it is time to listen again.

Slowly moving forward ...

This book seems a bit slower than the first but it's still good. The narration of the lead female character, Mac, is on point but the narration of the male character, J. Barron, is something I have not gotten used to. It makes me think of J. Barron as a troll or the hunch back of Notre Dame not as a strong, attractive man.

Plain

The story itself is well ok. It is for younger readers for sure I would suggest 16-24 I gave it one additional book to see if the story would mature it did not. It’s kind of goofy. The story does have a few dark elements.

Triggers just two in my opinion. A form of cannibalism murder, obvious. Abduction of the heroine along with torture nothing in great detail.

Info on a one star comment no there is absolutely no rape or any form of it in the story so no worries for the sensitive reader. There is a bit of unwanted advances and kisses but that’s it. This is a author that doesn’t go into great morbid detail that could or would offend a reader.

All in all the story was ok I am not sure I will continue the series, perhaps if I am bored enough later.

keeps me entirely enthralled!

I love the narrator, I'm surprised at the complaints. I am very picky about narrators, in fact the can flat out ruin a book, I think this gal rocks.
