Publisher's summary

The follow-up to the runaway best sellers On Dublin Street and Down London Road

Despite her outgoing demeanor, Olivia is painfully insecure around the opposite sex - usually, she can't get up the nerve to approach guys she's interested in. But moving to Edinburgh has given her a new start, and, after she develops a crush on a sexy postgrad, she decides it's time to push past her fears and go after what she wants.

Nate Sawyer is a gorgeous player who never commits, but to his close friends, he's as loyal as they come. So when Olivia turns to him with her relationship woes, he offers to instruct her in the art of flirting and to help her become more sexually confident.

The friendly education in seduction soon grows into an intense and hot romance. But then Nate's past and commitment issues rear their ugly heads, and Olivia is left brokenhearted. When Nate realizes he's made the biggest mistake of his life, he will have to work harder than he ever has before to entice his best friend into falling back in love with him - or he may lose her forever…

great book

I really enjoyed the book. I'll look to see if there are others either more of the series or just by the author.

nice romance

This was a nice story. i loved Olivia and Nate although I am pretty partial to the first book in the series, On Dublin Street, about jocelyn and braden. The first 3 books ran about the same story pattern and Im taking a On Dublin Street series break. LOVED all the characters in this series but each romance is starting to feel a little repetitious. I liked Lee Angel's narration of herself but I did not like her Scottish' voice very much. Her Nate sounded like Nate had a mouthful of //// and that was hard to get past in the steamy sex parts. I liked this author and the series.

Narrator is a great actress

Wonderful narration. Was never taken out of the story with weird vocal issues, and her differentiation between characters male and female was excellent. Great story.

Enjoyed the story but...

What was one of the most memorable moments of Before Jamaica Lane?

It has to be the sex scenes. My goodness! Where can I find a Nate for me?!

Would you listen to another book narrated by Lee Angel?

Not sure I'd buy a book because of Lee Angel narrating. Her Scottish accent was okay for females but I didn't care for her male accent. For some reason the male voices (especially Braden and Mick) always made me think of Boris from The Rocky & Bullwinkle Show. I think everyone deserves a second chance so I won't write her off, just yet.

Any additional comments?

This was another great story by Samantha Young. I really enjoy this series: On Dublin Street. Each book can stand alone but I find it fun to see how they all sync together. I cannot decide which one is my favorite as they all have good characters and interesting stories.

I agree with Ana, this is my favorite book EVER!!!

It made me laugh, cry, hope and rejoice. I like that no one is a billionaire, just regular people who are plugging along in life finding love and happiness in their little corner of the world. I love the whole series!!!

Keep getting better!!!

At times, after the first book or two, a series of books just turns stale. This is not the case for SY's Dublin Street gang. Every book has been very good. In fact this is one of my favorites. It's so HOT and emotional. Yes, it certainly pushed all of my happy buttons!!! Narration is also great. This is the kind of listen I love spending my credits on.
