Picking up where Beautiful Bastard left off, Chloe Mills and Bennett Ryan continue their steamy, combative relationship.
Just when Chloe’s career starts to take off, Bennett wishes it would all slow down long enough to spend a wild night alone with his girlfriend. But after he refuses to take no for an answer, Chloe and Bennett find themselves with two plane tickets, one French Villa, and a surprising conversation that, predictably, leaves them wrestling under the covers.

Story wise, I loved it. But the audio version, not so much. You know how when a male is narrating and they soften and higher their voice fro when a women speaks? That's how this male narrator sounded all the time. His voice was way too soft and feminine for me. Especially with the character he is portraying. Bennett is this super alpha, rough, bastard of a man. The voice just didn't suit him at all and it's his narration the entire time. Thankfully it wasn't long. If I hadn't read the story before I don't know if I would've continued with the audio.
Am a book reader who have to many books and to little time to read them. I love humor, slow burn romance, and fast pace story.
Enjoyed this book a little more than Beautiful Bastard since they spilt up the POV in a male and female narratives. Also though it was short it was really sweet. There is a bigger chance to continue this series but probably not right now. Also the flashbacks on a year relationship was cute and there bad luck on traveling.
What a spicy little thing this was. And thank you ladies for giving us another taste of this enthralling couple. The narration was much less a "read" and way more a "performance". Superb in its visualization. I hope we hear more from the talented Grace and Kirby. Loved it all. Thanx! CS
I love audiobooks!!!
Bennett and Chloe!
His feelings about being in France with her, and the blue colors; the blue urn he knew she'd love.
They are OK readers, but he's not macho voiced enough to carry Bennett off. She's OK but her Bennett isn't male deep enough.
I so loved Beautiful bastard and having both pov in different chapters. This .5 did not do it for me.
First I think that even if they both love each other and they are now in a relationship, there could've still have tensions. (Just like in fifty shades, even married there were tension and sexy scenes)
Second, Kirby's voice is not Bennet. I much preferred when Grace did both voices. It felt more believable and less flat.
Third unless you can get it for 2$ don't bother. Too expensive for what it is. You can go straight to Beautiful Stranger and not miss anything ( as they touch some points of this .5 book there) the 2nd book is totally worth it though!
Used to read a ton... as life got busier, didn't have the time... Discovered Audible and LOVE IT! 51 year old professional female.
Disappointed to have Sebastian York replaced. Was distracted by the male voice talent. Didn't enjoy as much as other's in the series.
Unfortunately I felt the sequel was too rushed and didn't provide enough of a story or conflict. Not impressed. I was really looking forward to life after Beautiful Bastard. Still gonna go in to Beautiful Stranger.
1-10 I'd say a solid 6.5
a more solid conclusion of book one. I like to know what happens. It the "and then" piece
I like grace grant lovely voice truly well ready. KIRBY is not the right voice for this character. It kind of took away from the character... well a lot... I was more in love with the character before hearing his voice. Bad pairing of voices here..... Benett is more of a Zachary Webber or Sebastian York character big booming sexy voice was needed.
Yes. Keeping that to myself. :-)
