Editorial reviews

Editors Select, October 2016 - I was heartbroken to hear that my favorite romance series - Beautiful Bastard ("BB") by writing duo Christina Lauren - was coming to an end. Beautiful, the tenth and final book, features Jensen and Pippa, who, for better or worse, have both been shaped by breakups. After meeting on a plane, the two unexpectedly find themselves coupled off on a New England wine trip with some BB fan-favorite characters. Beautiful is the most relatable BB novel - it's easy to find yourself in Pippa's proclivity to embarrass herself and Jensen's work-related neuroses. Loyal fans are rewarded with sweet vignettes at the end of the novel from each couple in the series, but I'm keeping my fingers crossed that we haven't seen the last of them. Katie, Audible Editor

Fifty Shades of Grey has been a prominent title in erotica for nearly a decade. Considering that it's a wildly romantic story in which character development and sexual dynamics play equally strong roles, it’s quite a standout in its genre. Ask any fan and they’ll tell you that it’s not always easy to find something that has the same kind of tension and payoff as the Fifty Shades trilogy. Here are some books and series that fans of Fifty Shades are sure to love.

IT'S OVER.. AND IT'S BEEN A BEAUTIFUL RIDE

The 5th and final primary book in the Beautiful series by Christina Lauren was everything I'd hoped it would be.. and so so much more too. A good solid romance with all the right feels and then perfect Epilogues that included ALL of the previous couples as they all bask and unite in their individual and joint HEA's. Dual POV's and just look at the lineup of great narrators.

Over the span of time Christina Lauren has given me a loveable group of characters whose love stories have enthralled and entertained me as they've each fumbled then found their way to their soul mate.. and to the happy ever afters a romance lover craves. So, thank you Christina for the wonderful stories, the swoon-worthy Heroes, the feisty Heroines, the chills, the thrills, the passion and the sweet sweet Epilogues.

Worth a credit? YES - but if you've been a fan of the series then you already know this.

It Is Time To End It

The primary story in this last book of the series was kind of sad and depressing. It started off fairly strong with the flight from London to Boston. This scene had echos of some of the more embarrassing vignettes in Beautiful Bastard. But Pippa and Jensen seemed to have built a relationship on nothing more than convenience and proximity. So when those two factors were removed, it didn't seem believable that they would really miss each other, enough to fly back across the ocean to try and build a more permanent relationship.

What made this book worth reading was the fact that it brought back all of the characters from earlier books and gave them all a great send-off. Especially Chloe and Bennet. In those two characters, Lauren created rivals for some of the best fictional couples of all time. Pretty sure they would be the parents from hell, but it would never be boring. I will miss them, but it is time for the series to end.

5 WELL DESERVED STARS!

I hate to see this series end, but this was great finale to one of my all time favorite series! Jensen's and Pippa's story was good, but I'll always love the trio of couples that are the mainstays of the series. I'd totally want to befriend these people and babysit their kids. Yet another winner for Christina Lauren. If you're new to the author, go get this entire series TODAY!

I just didn't connect

I am a die hard fan of Christina Lauren and though I liked this book, the characters didn't have the intense chemistry I saw in stranger, player and secret. It was ok and Im truly sad to see the series end.

Solid Story

Any additional comments?

This was a solid story. Worth a credit. It wasn't the best of the Christina Lauren books but if you read the other books in the series there's no way you should miss this one. It has all the previous characters and that alone makes it a treat. The issue is the narration. Sebastian York is perfection as usual. He was meant to narrate this book series. The issue was Grace Grant doing a British accent. Horrible, terrible, annoying. I don't understand why they didn't just have someone who was British do this narration. Grace Grant is perfect and delightful for all the other characters she's narrated in this series, just not this one.

Loved, loved, loved!!

The collage of characters uniting for this finale sealed the series perfectly. The narrators were all fantastic! JC&JY only narrated their epilogue. GG & SY narrated Pippa & Jensen. Free spirited Pippa & workaholic Jensen were opposites who met on an airplane. Things get crazy fun after this unexpected meeting. Absolutely worth the credit!

A Beautiful End

This book was the ending worth waiting for. Not only did we see Jensen and Pippa's love story we also had insight into the other charters. This well worth the credit.

Fun.

Worthy of this great series. Perfect narration. Really liked Pippa and her quirkiness. Loved the interaction between the older characters.
