Same as every other cynster novel - not as good as gabriel and demons books

I had to hear this one to complete the series but by now I’ve got the gist of every cynster book (I don’t know if other books by SL also follow the same story):

1. Hero is a gentleman and rake and does NOT wish to fall in love/marry
2. H meets h, they have unexplainable undeniable physical and emotional attraction. They eventually have sex, H wants to marry h
3. Heroine is “strong” by which SL means extremely annoying and stubborn and refuses to marry the hero about ten times before she accepts. In this book I about wanted to kill the h with how long she took to tell him about the hat and what she saw.
4. There’s also some type of mystery that needs solving - all gets solved by the end of the book and the hero and heroine marry.

Take my advice - only read/listen to the secret love. Alathea is the only h I could stand from this series. Flick from demons story is also tolerable.

Simon prebble is good but it seems like he only really has one male lead voice and one female lead voice and uses it in every book. This along with SL’s hero’s and heroines being so similar, makes you feel like you’re basically hearing the same story with a slightly different “mystery” each time.

SL also seems to have too many sex scenes in her books. Really unnecessary.

Another one bites the dust

historical-romance, cynsters, cozy-mystery, erotica, murder
Read from January 01, 2013 to October 10, 2016

Perfectly delightful as a stand alone, yet it is part of an interesting series. The rake and the spinster are both anti marriage, yet wind up married by the end of the book. They meet because of a murder and work together to track down the murderer and there is lots of action along the way.
Simon Prebble does marvelous work as narrator once again.

Nice story

Would you consider the audio edition of All About Love to be better than the print version?

Yes. I have a whole lot of
Stephanie Laurens paper back and hardback books. I finally got tired of trying to read them as they were long and in the case of the paperbacks, the print was so small, it was tiring to read. I did not have this book and it was on sale, so I thought I would give it a try.

I really thought Simon Prebble did a marvelous job and really helped the book.

It was a nice story with a murder mystery, romance and sex.

Cynstered Out

What did you like best about All About Love? What did you like least?

Simon Prebble is a wonderful narrator, but this story was too predictable. Lucifer was too much like his brother and cousins, and his love interest was too much like those of the other Cynsters. It got tiresome.

dumb characters, predictable plot

The story line was too predictable and the characters are so dumb. Don't go in there or you'll be killed! But they go in anyway. I was annoyed for most of the book, which is not what I look for in a nice romance.

Predictable Formula

Would you consider the audio edition of All About Love to be better than the print version?

Haven't read the book.

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

Didn't have an extreme reaction....the formula of 'boy meets girl, becomes girl's protector/savior, then boy & girl get involved & fall in love, but before the happy ending can happen, many trials/tribulations happen but the happy ending DOES take place' makes for an easy read....after all, isn't that the reason why we read a romance novel---for the boy to get the girl & live happily ever after??

Publisher is very disappointing!

What disappointed you about All About Love?

Don't buy this series unless you want to be disappointed due to the fact only part of the series is available to listen to. And there is NO chance to listen to the missing books. The publisher is not willing to add them to Audible for the listening public to enjoy.

Great Listen

Enjoyable read and conclusion to the Bar Cynster men. The story line had a nice amount of mystery and romance. Simon Prebble is a favorite and the story comes alive when he reads.

The story

This is another wonderful story by Ms Laurens…The Cynsters have struck again. I thoroughly enjoyed the story-…I absolutely love the narrator Matthew Brenher.
