Sounds/reads like something a kid/teen in school would write. I got tired of hearing he/she said every other second. Then throw in the little useless details ( she turned the water back on) really I needed to know that? When did she turn it off?! Trys to give you a play by play with details but misses most of the plays.....I barley made it threw the first chapter I scaned the rest on my kindle version and still I will not ever finish this book. Waste of time and money!

Good Book, Good Narrator.

Would you consider the audio edition of Accidentally on Purpose to be better than the print version?

Yes, I felt that the narrator did a fabulous job and really infused personality to each character. Loved the mom's voice.

What did you like best about this story?

The plot was thick with rich characters, well no pun intended.

Luke and the mom!

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

This book and I have a love hate relationship both in print and audio. I felt all the emotions of love, hate, sorrow, pain, disappointment, excitement, angst, well it filled them all. It was almost too emotional. The story was well written and if you like the tempest of emotion this book is for you. It deals with domestic violence and really is great how it escalates when you least expect it, mix in a little addiction, co-dependence and another man all while on the job, well there you, REAL LIFE, and it evokes real life emotions. Beneath it all is a thick, well written plot that makes you want to smack the characters sometimes, LOL. Be ready for a crazy ride if that is your bag this is your audio book but don't say I didn't warn you!!!!

I love how the author explained everything about each character, I understand how Emmy can love both men.

Loved loved this story!

I loved this book and if I could have rated higher than 5 stars I would have. This book was real and raw. I get tired of reading books where the characters are perfect or only one is messed up. Emmy has a lot of issues and it stems from her childhood, feeling like she isn’t good enough and that her family really doesn’t understand or love her. She doesn’t deal with her issues by talking about it, she drowns her problems in liquor. She makes several jokes about being a borderline alcoholic...sometimes we tell the truth in our jokes. She works for Kyle, who is a rich, self centered jerk who treats his employees like crap especially Emmy. Kyle has problems too and his behavior at times is like a two year old throwing a temper tantrum. One night Emmy and Kyle get drunk and they sleep together which turns into a full blown affair. It would be fine if Kyle didn’t have a girlfriend who he is suppose to marry and Emmy starts dating Luke...who is a hot and wonderful man(can you tell I’m team Luke😆) I don’t want to give the story away...but in life we can make poor decisions especially when we feel like we aren’t good enough and deserve real love. When you don’t think highly of yourself, you will deal with anything and everything and unfortunately sometimes turn to substances to escape reality. This book dealt with real life and I could relate to all of the characters. I I’m don’t believe people are born bad or hateful, life can make them become these things. People can be amazing but if they aren’t meant for each other...together they are toxic and can only hurt each other and anyone else who crosses their paths. Like I said I don’t want to give the story about but this story was everything. I felt every emotion and this was the first time I listened to an audible book and didn’t fall asleep. Loved loved this story and the characters!

A must read

I got this book on a whim because I was bored and couldn't find anything else. That being said, it turned out to be an amazing surprise. I found myself laughing out loud and crying as the story unfolded. Listen to this book, you won't regret it.

narrator ruins story

Would you recommend this book to a friend? Why or why not?

no because the narrator's voice is much too old to be a 30 year old and it is annoying. The writing definitely makes it sound like an indy book. There are some odd turns of phrase that no real person would likely use.

Would you be willing to try another one of Serena Daniels’s performances?

If it was more age appropriate, although she is a bit over the top in her delivery of the material. Too emotive.

Definitely. The story line was good and the outcome for me was so unexpected, with the revelations along the way

What a great read!

This book evokes so many emotions!!!! Anger, laughter, love then frustration!
But definitely worth the credit!!!! This is one of realest book I’ve read this year. I loved that the characters were not perfect! And it kept keeping me guessing until the end not sure who she would end up with! A must read!!!!

New found appreciation.

Really appreciated this one after my 2nd time listening to it! Love when she did Donya and Sam's voices. sounded just like them from the other book! great job! Emmy was actually kind of a badass! !
