Publisher's summary

Kyle Sterling is Emmy's boss and the biggest jerk she knows. He's abrasive, uptight, and selfish.

When Emmy sleeps with Kyle after a night of drinking, she quickly tries to put the mistake behind her. When the duo is snowed in together over a long weekend, Emmy begins to discover there is more to Kyle than his mean-spirited behavior. Unfortunately, Kyle has a steady girlfriend he is unwilling to break up with.

Moving on and putting that long weekend behind her, Emmy starts dating attorney Luke Kessler. Luke treats Emmy with kindness, reverence, and loves her unconditionally. He is everything Emmy should ever want in a man - sexy, intelligent, successful, and funny, with strong family bonds. He is definitely everything her loudmouthed, overly opinionated mother could ever want for her. Even as their relationship takes off, Emmy is finding Kyle hard to shake. He aggressively pursues her, blatant in his feelings and desire for her.

When Emmy succumbs to her hidden feelings for Kyle without setting Luke free, devastating consequences ensue. Addicted to Kyle, unable to purge him from her life, Emmy's once easygoing life is now on a path of destruction. Will she let go of this man before it's too late? Is Luke's love truly unconditional? Will Emmy ever recover from accidentally-on-purpose falling for two men at the same time?

Love a good comeback story!

There were times I wanted to shake some sense into Emmie but she came through at the end. Some of us have to learn the hard way and more than once.... great story!

Another Winner for Me!

Although, I'm not fond of books about cheating....this book kept my attention. Its worth the credit to me! I would categorize this book under New Adult Romance.

mindless self indulgence at it's finest

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

I would recommend. It's an easy listen and can be entertaining at times.

How did the narrator detract from the book?

Serena Daniels' performance is what made this book horrible for me. First off, she sounds about 20 years older than Emmy. Second, I could not, for the life of me, understand her character voices. She had Samantha sounding like friggin Eliza Doolittle and Kyle occassionally sounded like some creepy homeless man that stole children in the night. Very disappointing.

A deep story

I would recommend this book to anyone. This is a story of a person's mistakes and how we can learn from them, move on, and still find happiness.

Total Drama Rama

Normally I am not down for this much DRAMA; HOWEVER, this book was so drama filled that I was totally down for it. I said to myself pretty much from the start "What The" at every twist and turn but the one thing I could not do is put it down. Emmy was infuriating, Kyle was not a good guy, Luke....aaaawwww I just felt for Luke but wanted to slap him around a bit as well. I do wish there were some parts of the story that were flushed out a little more but overall as I said "What The" & I really enjoyed it!

OMG and NOT in a good way :(

I got this book just cause I love to get books....but it was not a good pick. It was Jerry Springer all the way. It had drama after drama maybe that is why I finished it. There were so bust out laughing moments but mostly its like REALLY :/ You can get this book if you want but ITS NOT a relisten.

Love/hate type thing.

Oh, where to start. I lost sleep over this book, wanting to finish it. But I spent the whole night wanting to punch Emmy in the face repeatedly. It truly is some type of torture, painful but realistic and written nicely. Thus the love/hate thing.
At the very end she FINALLY sees the writing on the wall, and that's when my alarm rang.
I can't believe I've lost a whole nights sleep over this one :/

split personality

This book starts out as a steamy, sassy chick-lit romance and then grows legs and depth of character. The narrator at times sounded like SIRI was reading to me, but for the most part suited the style of the book.

Was all over the place.

I had to stop listening to this and go back to it after a few days. The storyline was not well thought out in my opinion.

Wow so realistic!

Characters who are honestly flawed and human, you truly feel anger and sympathy for Emmy and total empathy for Luke. I have to say the inevitable comeuppance Emmy is dealt by Luke is riveting and left me shaken, all due to the writing of L D Davis and the spot on delivery by narrator Serena Daniels.
