Publisher's summary

Nola Leary would have been content to stay in Kilcairy, Ireland, healing villagers at her family’s clinic with a mix of magic and modern medicine. But a series of ill-timed omens and a deathbed promise to her grandmother have sent her on a quest to Half-Moon Hollow, Kentucky, to secure her family’s magical potency for the next generation. Her supernatural task? To unearth four artifacts hidden by her grandfather before a rival magical family beats her to it.

Complication One: The artifacts are lost somewhere in vampire Jane Jameson’s occult bookshop. Complication Two: Her new neighbor, Jed Trudeau, keeps turning up half-naked at the strangest times, a distraction Nola doesn’t need. And teaming up with a real-life Adonis is as dangerous as it sounds, especially since Jed’s got the face of an angel and the abs of a washboard. Can Nola complete her mission before falling completely under his spell?

An absolutely fabulous read!!!

Molly Harper writes the most wonderful stories! A Witch's Handbook of Kisses and Curses is sweet and funny with a fantastic cast of characters who lovable and sassy. The story is a refreshing mix of mystery and romance with a very generous helping of snarky sarcasm that will have you laughing out loud.

The narrator, Amanda Ronconi, is a gem! She is one of the best narrators I've heard on audible. She injects she wonderful emotion into her reading and her comedic timing makes her the perfect reader for this story!

I highly, highly recommend ANY Molly Harper title but especially any read by Amanda Ronconi.

Happy listening!

another fun installment

It took me about 30-40% into this story to really get into it. I found it hard to warm up to Nola. I read other reviews where the strange mixture of accents was distracting. I have to agree that at first Nola's strange scent was distracting but I finally got into the story and it didn't bother me as much. Not my favorite Half Moon Hollow book but enjoyable none the less.

Even better as an audio book

Any additional comments?

I read one of Molly Harper's books and loved it, but the narrator make all of these books even better. I've caught myself bursting out laughing often through these books. Molly Harper's audio books are my favorite house-cleaning side-kick. When I'm listening to one of these, my house is extraordinarily clean.

Love Amanda Ronconi, Hated Accent

Good story on par with other Molly Harper Half Moon Hollow stories. However, the accent of the narrator was distracting. I absolutely love Ronconi's narration (that's how I found this series), and she always does a great job. So I know it's not her but the director who told her to use such a weird accent (it sounded like a poor imitation of someone trying to speak half-Irish and half-Bostonian). Yes the character has both elements but it even says that she's supposed to have a SLIGHT lilt/Boston accent. After a while it eased, but it did take quite some time.

Yay more Jane

So I mainly read the Half Moon Hollow series because of Jane. They give me small doses of her. Sometimes it helps but mostly it just leaves me wanting more.

As for Amanda Ronconi I think she is one of my favorite narrators. She does a really good job with all of the voices. At the beginning of this book her voice for Nola really threw me off. Her accent didn't fit with an Irish accent at all. I finally realized it was not Irish but Boston. Which made way more sense. I will say that she did fall in and out of the accent a couple of times. She would skip an R in one word and a sentence or two later say the R. Having said that it still did not detract from the story.

I liked Nola she was funny and spunky. She fit well with the rest of the crazy snarky people we all love from Half Moon Hollow. The magic was a new addition to the series that worked well.

Love Molly Harper!

This is another installment all acted out in Half Moon Hollow, KY. Nola comes to retrieve some family heirlooms, meets Jed - yes Jed - and the HMH crew all chip in to help - sort of. The story was very creative, humorous, and the Molly Harper form of romantic. The title is a bit kitschy, but it fits. Amanda Ronconi does not do foreign accents BTW which would have made it better but does not REALLY affect the story. She seems to forget she is supposed to have an accent - sometimes there, sometimes not - and the sometimes there isn't all that.

Molly Harper is my go to author for good, light, humorous, paranormal characters, with romance. If you like Molly Harper, you will like this. If you have not experienced Molly Harper I would recommend starting with an earlier book so the accent issue isn't quite the distraction.

Worth the credit.
