Publisher's summary

Nola Leary would have been content to stay in Kilcairy, Ireland, healing villagers at her family’s clinic with a mix of magic and modern medicine. But a series of ill-timed omens and a deathbed promise to her grandmother have sent her on a quest to Half-Moon Hollow, Kentucky, to secure her family’s magical potency for the next generation. Her supernatural task? To unearth four artifacts hidden by her grandfather before a rival magical family beats her to it.

Complication One: The artifacts are lost somewhere in vampire Jane Jameson’s occult bookshop. Complication Two: Her new neighbor, Jed Trudeau, keeps turning up half-naked at the strangest times, a distraction Nola doesn’t need. And teaming up with a real-life Adonis is as dangerous as it sounds, especially since Jed’s got the face of an angel and the abs of a washboard. Can Nola complete her mission before falling completely under his spell?

My Favorite so far in the spin off series

Listened for Fun/Read for Review(Audible/Edelweiss)
Overall Rating: 4.75
Story Rating: 4.50
Character Rating: 5.00

Audio Rating: 4.50

First Thought When Finished: My favorite so far in the spin off series.

Story Thoughts: OMG this freaking cracked me up. Nola (the leading lady) had a quest that just made me grin. As a person who had two very strong-willed grandmothers, I could just imagine one of them handing me something like that while making me promise to follow through. Poor Nola found out that it was going to be quite the task and not easy at all. She tackled it like a trooper and gave me some great big laughs along the way. I am a big fan of when Jane and her crazy mama make appearances in the spin off series so that was just icing on the cake.

Character Thoughts: Nola was a great addition to the Half Moon Hollow bunch. She is smart, witty, a little witchy, and can hold her own in the smart ass department. Really I think the strong female characters of the Hollows are just fantastic and since most of them made an appearance in this book, I was thrilled! Then there was hot-stuff Jed! Jed made me swoon and even with a crazy family, I would have snatched him up in a heartbeat. Swoon-worthy leading men are always a good reason to read a book but when they are hot-blooded shifters–it is a MUST!

Audio Thoughts

Narrated By Amanda Ronconi / Length: 8 hrs and 59 mins

Amanda hit it out of the park again. I admit that at first I thought she was dropping accents but then I was reminded that Nola was trying to hide her Irish behind a Boston accent. I don’t know how many narrators could pull that off but Amanda did! Seriously this is just a fun series to listen to on audio.

Final Thoughts: Fun Series and a MUST READ for me!

Molly Harper = auto buy for me

Going with her half moon hollow theme, Nola travels from Ireland to HMH Kentucky in search of 4 artifacts she needs to find to restore balance to her family. I didn't even have to think before I clicked buy because I know anything the DYNAMIC DUO produce will be worth buying.
This book is fun, exciting, funny & made me lol more than a few times. Several references to other characters from different books was a pleasure too.
The only thing I had a difficult time with, was when I first started listening to the book I had to triple check it was Amanda Ronconi due to her using the Irish accent for Nola. After confirming it was Ronconi I just sat back and enjoyed. The accent was a bit off putting at first but after the first chapter it was hardly an issue.
Most definitely worth a credit. Just make sure you read her books in order or it could get confusing. You don't have to but you will miss out on some of the jokes.
Ok, quit reading this and go click buy!!

I still LOVE Molly!!!

I love Amanda but in this narration I don't know that she actually hit the accents quite like they should have been! Over all the story was a-typical Molly Harper and I am so happy to have another book of hers to read especially one so rich with Jane Jameson involved!!! What a lovely twist!!!

Molly fans, spend your credit!! you won't be disappointed!

Truely Funny!!!

I have Loved Every Molly Harper book and this one is no exception. I have to say I laughed more from this book than any other Molly book and that is saying something.

It was nice that the "Jane Jameson cast" was featured and Nola was truly refreshing. Nola is sent to the Hollow for 4 objects and after meeting Jane and the gang she sets out in search of them. Of course the funny mishaps and corky characters I have come to expect for a Molly book comes across strong and the new characters she features have there own voice. The book moves along every quickly and sadly for me, It's quick read means I'm now finished with it.

I was at first weird-ed out that Amanda Ronconi has an accent for Nola and carries it through the whole book but after 5 minutes in to the book it felt right. I have to say that Amanda is always great but she out did herself with all the accents. I know that she doesn't have a true Boston/Irish accent but then again what would that sound like? they are so at odds with each other. But the accent she does use is very distinct and set Nola apart from any other character that Amanda has done.

Love Molly Harper, and Ronconi

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

I've listened to every audio book from Molly Harper narrated by Amanda Ronconi that is available on Audible. Every one is laugh out loud funny, with a great story line attached as well

What did you like best about this story?

Brought new characters into the Hollow, and sill had the same ones interact with the new ones made for very interesting and funny story, and always a mystery too.

What does Amanda Ronconi bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

I never heard Amanda Ronconi do an Irish accent, and it was a little weird for me. but still liked her emotions and handling of characters.

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

When she finds out Jed's true nature........it really is kind of funny.

Any additional comments?

I hope that Molly Harper keeps writing about HMH. Whether about Jane or the new characters you can't go wrong with Molly Harper and Amanda Ronconi narrating.

Harper & Ronconi NEVER FAILS

They’re back…. The team of Molly Harper and Amanda Ronconi never fails to entertain me. Between Harper’s witty writing and Ronconi’s spot on narration, A Witch’s Handbook to Kisses and Curses is full of flirty fun between an out-of-town witch, Nola Leary and a sexy handyman, Jed Trudeau.

Nola, moved to Ireland from Boston after the death of her father at a young age. So she has an interesting mix of accents (which Ronconi pulls it off beautifully). Nola’s Irish side of the family has been in a feud with Kerrigans (they’re not ice skaters) another witch family for centuries. Because of this feud Nola returns to the States to find 4 magical artifacts that her family was tasked with guarding from the other family. This brings her to Half Moon Hollow, Kentucky. For such a small town it has a rather large supernatural population. There are vampires and werewolves and now a witch. Who knows what other supes could be found in the hollow……

After Nola moves into a rental she meets her sexy and often without a shirt neighbor, Jed. He and a small crew is working on the house they both rent from none other than Dick Chaney (the vampire not the former vice president). One thing leaves to another and the budding friend/romance takes place. But don’t think this is a sweet romance; it’s a Molly Harper book after all. Harper loves putting her characters through some of the most funny and embarrassing situations. Case in point the two meet while Nola climbing Jed like a tree while running from some scary creature in her kitchen cabinets, wearing only her bath towel.

So in true Harper fashion there are funny one-liners about pop culture from the freaky sleeping stalker, Edward Cullen to Black Dagger Brotherhood references and even a tip of the hat to one of Harper’s other series, you know the one about werewolf romance set in Alaska. ;)

Also Jane Jameson series might be done but Jane fans will be delighted to know that her motley crew shows up quite a bit in this newest installment in the Half Moon Hollow series helping Nola in her quest to find the 4 magical items she came to the hollow for.

If you’re looking for a side splitting read/listen you NEED to check out Molly Harper. I highly recommend ALL of her books. Oh in case you are ordering this series could be read in order but I recommend you starting with the Jane Jameson series just so you will have a better understanding of the background on those characters since the pop up throughout this series.

❤️

I love the characters in this story about Paranormals in half moon hollow. Nola sets out on a great quest, meets challenges along the way and the love of her life. This is book portrays a creative interpretation of shape shifters and curses! Of course Molly Harper incorporates humor, sarcasm and detailed descriptions, leaving the listener wanting more! The incorporation of Mr. Wainwright and Dick Cheney is by far the best part of the book. Second only to Mama Ginger's shenanigans! If you like funny paranormal romance novels read in a southern twang and Irish accents you will enjoy this listen!
