Publisher's summary

Nola Leary would have been content to stay in Kilcairy, Ireland, healing villagers at her family’s clinic with a mix of magic and modern medicine. But a series of ill-timed omens and a deathbed promise to her grandmother have sent her on a quest to Half-Moon Hollow, Kentucky, to secure her family’s magical potency for the next generation. Her supernatural task? To unearth four artifacts hidden by her grandfather before a rival magical family beats her to it.

Complication One: The artifacts are lost somewhere in vampire Jane Jameson’s occult bookshop. Complication Two: Her new neighbor, Jed Trudeau, keeps turning up half-naked at the strangest times, a distraction Nola doesn’t need. And teaming up with a real-life Adonis is as dangerous as it sounds, especially since Jed’s got the face of an angel and the abs of a washboard. Can Nola complete her mission before falling completely under his spell?

What a shame… :(

What disappointed you about A Witch's Handbook of Kisses and Curses?

Molly Harper and Amanda Ronconi are two of my very favorite duo, author and narrator, but this book was a total disaster for me.

My favorite narrator Amanda Ronconi attempts an Irish accent that has my teeth grinding until I can barely stand to listen and the horrible rancid, hate-filled spewing about the mother/daughter relationship is more than I want to deal with. Please, please don’t do that accent again! I miss your usual, wonderful attitude and expressiveness that fills lines with an enchanting aliveness!

I listen to Molly’s books to enjoy, not to feel I’m having to endure and cringe like a guest at a really, really bad family reunion. It just went on and on too long for me.

Not enough fun Molly… I’m ended listening to this one because I need to go find a more fun read just to cheer myself up a bit. I hope everything is okay with you… This one just doesn’t do your usual style any justice.

Has A Witch's Handbook of Kisses and Curses turned you off from other books in this genre?

No… Still love this genre and the author and narrator at their usual form. This just was a hit and miss.

I am so happy I found Molly Harper!!

What did you like best about this story?

I couldnt put this book down!! I enjoyed the witty dialog between the characters and cant wait to explore her other books. This book had me laughing out loud one minute and fanning myself from the steamy scenes the next. The narrator did an excellent job and complimented the story.

Yet another great book by Harper!!

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

Ronconis accent threw me at first, but once the author explains where the accent was coming from it made sense. I loved this book!! Funny, funny, funny with a little bit of romance and sarcasm mixed in there.

Yeah the accent is off but the story is good

Many people have complained about the accent. And I totally get it. Sometimes its Irish and sometimes its Bostonian and then at other times its not there at all. In the beginning it is a little annoying. BUT there is supposed to be a change in the accent as that's how the story is written. She literally says that she worked hard to mask her Irish accent by incorporating her Boston one instead. However, if you can just focus on the content versus the waxing and waning accent, its pretty good.

It reads a little differently than Molly's other stories. I like the boldness of the main character. There seems to be a little more meat in the story than the others and I enjoyed it. I think it was worth the listen.
