Outstanding

I read this series about 20 years ago and remembered how much I enjoyed it so I decided to give it another go. I think I enjoyed it even more this time. This is one of the best books I’ve ever read or listened to! You learn so much about ancient Rome, and it’s similarities to today’s society. Outstanding, I recommend this series to anyone who likes to read!

Heart wrenching.

It brought to mind how blessed we are as Christians and how we take is for granted.

Excellent

I wonder can I love and obey the Lord Jesus Christ as Hadasa. Could I face death and forgive and pray for those who hurt me? Can I serve as she? Thank you for letting the Lord use you to open my heart and eyes.

Engaging story

Hard to stop once you start. I became very attached to the Jewish girl and found story encouraging in the midst of a very difficult time.

A MUST READ

This book was so sweet and heartfelt. I have never read a fictional book that made me cry for Jesus like this one did! It was very eye-opening— the way Haddassah (sorry if I spelled her name wrong) reacted and dealt with her hardships. How she was so filled with the Holy Spirit the entire time. How her just so joyful and peaceful brought Decimas to ask for the Lord into his heart, and had Phoebe questioning what she had believed in. How Haddassah’s faith moved so many people without her even trying, and without them even realizing what it was about her that moved them. I have believed in God my entire life, but I have never felt such strong faith and peace throughout my life. That is something I truly strive for. I very much recommend this book for just anyone, but especially struggling believers. It is an amazing read. The narrators brought the characters to life as well. I would much rather read along with them.

A book to keep coming back to

I first read this book over 25 years ago and since then it’s become one of my very favorites. I love Francine Rivers and this series. I’ve gone through a few copies (because I’ve given them away). I now have 2 copies and this Audible audiobook! I can’t recommend it enough! This is such a powerful story and I really love the next book in the series as well!👏🏼👏🏼
