Publisher's summary

The wondrous New York Times best seller!

From the excitement of modern London to the echoing hallways of a medieval castle...Experience the power of audio to sweep you away to the world of Jude Deveraux, one of America's most beloved authors -- in a tale of love stronger than time itself.

A love for the ages....

Dougless Montgomery tried to be the ultimate American woman -- but somehow she always ended up the victim of family jokes. This time they would really laugh. On what was supposed to be a romantic vacation for herself and her lover, Dougless finds instead a journey of disappointment, heartbreak and abandonment. What Dougless needed now was a knight in shining armor. What she got was just exactly that!

From today's most admired storyteller, here is an unforgettable tale of a most miraculous love affair: a meeting of passion, wit, and true romance between a thoroughly modern woman -- and a man who lived 400 years before!

Run Screaming

Any additional comments?

Dear God! I guess I have been spoilt by books that have halfway realistic dialog, plots, and female characters that are not sniveling crybabies. If weak women, boorish cavemen, and unrealistic plots are what you are craving by all means buy this book. I hated the main character so much in the first 20 minutes I started hoping she would maybe get possessed by a demon. At least that way she would be interesting and less pathetic. But no such luck. And the narrator should have been reading a Whinny the Pooh book not a fantasy romance. It was kind of creepy and really annoying. Don???t waste your time or money.

So disappointed

I love this book and read the original several times. The abridged version is dreadful. All the nuisance is missing and the heroine is pathetic.

If I could make a half of a stat I would! Go to unabridged not this dreck!!!

How could you take an amazing book and story and turn it into this dribble! I have been reading Jude Devereaux since I was 21. I was in service and my Aunt Peggy got me hooked on them. I was oversea and stationed at Atsugi Japan. I was married and I would go the bookstore on base and I bought every single book. Jude turns her books to life. One of my favorites was Knight in shining Armor. Now I’m 53 and live an hour away from work. Audiobooks are awesome to listen to and from work. I saw this cover and was like a little kid and bought it never looking at reviews because I read it I knew how awesome it was. Nooo this book was HORRIBLE the narrator the speed just Horrible. I was so sad because it was such an amazing story. I couldn’t even finish the audio. Shame on You All. Lorene F VT USA

NW-TX- I have read & listened to this audiobook.

The first 2-3 chapters are slow to establish the plot but I ultiimately I enjoyed it. The narrator is very good.

Don't waste you're money!

This isn't the whole book. It's a very short, condensed version. However, the lady reading it did an excellent job.

Abridged version leaves much to be desired.

I love this book. I hate how it was chopped into bits. Only worth listening too if you want to be reminded how good reading the book was and not to enjoy the story.

I will never listen to an abridged 'book' again

This has been a favorite re-read of mine since the book came out. I love the escape. However, the abridged audio of this book is terrible. I will stick to the paper copy from now on.
