Publisher's summary

A mythic warrior who'll stop at nothing to possess her....

After enduring years of torture from the vampire horde, Lachlain MacRieve, leader of the Lykae Clan, is enraged to find the predestined mate he's waited millennia for is a vampire. Or partly one. This Emmaline is a small, ethereal half Valkyrie/half vampire, who somehow begins to soothe the fury burning within him.

A vampire captured by her wildest fantasy....

Sheltered Emmaline Troy finally sets out to uncover the truth about her deceased parents - until a powerful Lykae claims her as his mate and forces her back to his ancestral Scottish castle. There, her fear of the Lykae - and their notorious dark desires - ebbs as he begins a slow, wicked seduction to sate her own dark cravings.

An all-consuming desire....

Yet when an ancient evil from her past resurfaces, will their desire deepen into a love that can bring a proud warrior to his knees and turn a gentle beauty into the fighter she was born to be?

Excellent Series!

I love this series. I write this review having listened to almost the whole thing. In this first installment you meet Emmaline a half valkerie half vampire who is the fated mate of the king of the Lykae. Lachlain MacRieve is that king. He has been the prisoner of the Vampire Horde and chained and burned to death only to be brought back again and again for 150 years. Imagine his reaction to finding out his fated mate is vampire?
Petkoff is an excellent narrator.
This series is for adults only.

LOVE the IAD series--Delighted w/ Petkoff

Would you listen to A Hunger Like No Other: Immortals After Dark, Book 2 again? Why?

Yes. Why? Because it is a great story but to be honest just to have my toes curl any time Petkoff does Lachlain's parts. Seriously Hot!

Have you listened to any of Robert Petkoff’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

No. This was a first. I am glad that he has done the remainder of the series. I am buying them all up so I can listen to them. I have read them all and this is a wonderful way to revisit them.

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

LOL several times. No crying. I mentioned the toes curling right?

Definitely worth listening!

Any additional comments?

This was my first experience with a Kresley Cole novel, and after listening to this narrator, I have to agree with many of the other reviews that he was excellent! I wasn't quite sure what to expect, but listening to his take on Lachlan was my guilty pleasure for a day or two. Wish it would have been longer, but I couldn't stop listening!

Interesting, Entertaining, and Good Narrator

What did you love best about A Hunger Like No Other?

I like how the author introduce the different supernatural characters. I like how the werewolves done follow the common myths. None of the supernatural do.

What was one of the most memorable moments of A Hunger Like No Other?

I think the part when the Main female character fought her father to the death.

What about Robert Petkoff’s performance did you like?

I think he did a great job. I usually dont think men narrators can do a very good female voice. But his female voices were great.

If you were to make a film of this book, what would be the tag line be?

I have no idea...this is a dumb question.

Any additional comments?

I hope the other books will be available soon.

Nice Vampire twist!

Would you listen to A Hunger Like No Other again? Why?

While the whole book is @ 12 hours, it is very intersted and worth a second run.

Any additional comments?

Awesome story! Lachlain was very sexy and everything you from a Lykae Clan. Emmaline was adorable! I laugh through most of the book and could not put it down. Once you start reading, you are completely focused on figuring out how the story is going to end. This is my first Kresley Cole book. After reading this one, I am interested in trying more

voice acting

Would you consider the audio edition of A Hunger Like No Other: Immortals After Dark, Book 2 to be better than the print version?

I wouldn't consider the audio better than the written version. Robert does a great job for Lachlain but his version of Emmaline is sometimes grating on the ears. I know that in the beginning of the book she is less than sure of herself, but please give her a little more oomph than the waif that she sounds like. It made me almost not want to continue listening if I hadn't read the book first.
