Publisher's summary

He is the most powerful man to ever live, and therefore doomed to misery.

Ren Lewis was born with the power to control minds, hypnotize others, and read thoughts. Therefore, he is certain of one thing.

God made a mistake. No one should be born with so much power.

Sherlock Holmes meets House for a combination that makes for a brilliant anti-hero.

This 280,000-word collection is full of deceit, the paranormal, and deadly thrills. This boxed set includes The Man Behind the Monster, God's Little Monster, The Monster Inside the Monster, The Monster's Adventure, and The Monster's Death.

Book one:

A monster awoke in Ren the same year he received his gifts. At 10 years old. A prepubescent boy with the ability to control others might merely abuse this power, but Ren allowed it to corrupt him. And since he can have and do anything he wants, Ren should be happy. However, his journey teaches him that harboring so much power doesn't bring happiness, it steals it. Once this realization sets in, Ren makes up his mind to do the one thing that can bring his tortured soul some peace.

He must kill the monster.

Book two:

Ren Lewis has the life he’s always wanted: the perfect woman and the perfect job as an agent for the Lucidites, fixing problems before they happen.

And yet, he’s still miserable.

Book three:

Ren Lewis, who has faced every danger known to man, is about to meet a challenge he’s convinced has the power to undo him. When he discovers that his daughter, Adelaide, has been hiding a pregnancy, he goes into hiding himself.

Book four:

Ren Lewis has seen it all, or so he likes to think. He's encountered every danger known to man. Due to his powers as a Dream Traveler and unstoppable work ethic, he's experienced more than any human alive. But Ren is about to have a brand new experience.

Book five:

Using technology, philosophy, quantum physics, psychology, and spirituality, Ren attempts to do something that millions of people throughout history have only dreamed of.

Wonderful series of books expertly written

This set of five books chronicles the life of Ren Lewis, a man both encumbered and gifted with the ability to Dream Travel. In Book 1, we see Ren in his early days as a young boy in his family of origin and follow Ren through to Book 5 with the story of his final days. In between, we learn about his love for Dalia, his work at the Lucidite Institute and his daughter Adelaide. Ren is the type of person you love to hate, but is really a complex character who displays empathetic moments. I didn't pay too much attention to Ren's relationship with his father, but it's something I'll go back and listen to when I get a chance.

I have the audiobook version of this set. There are two things I would say about my experience listening to these audiobooks.

First, there is plenty of humor and lots of witticisms throughout; early on listening to Ren reminded me of reading Terry Pratchett's Discworld books. There is the same kind of dry humor in both and it's rare that I'd read something and chuckle.

Secondly, I don't remember how I wound up with the books, but I never really liked the paranormal genre and always steered clear of it. And now, I found myself listening to a series that I was fully engaged in right from the beginning. Dream Traveler Ren Lewis and Sarah Noffke may have won me over.

I think the books were masterfully written, with full attention paid to the necessary details of Ren's complex life and those around him. Tim Campbell does an excellent job of narration and the audio production is excellent. All told, a marvelous omnibus collection worthy of reading or listening to.

Glad I continued with the story

Title: Ren Series: The Complete Boxed Set
Author: Sarah Nofke
Format: Audio
Narrator: Tim Campbell
Genre: Paranormal, thriller, political, humor
Standalone/Part of a Series: This is the complete Ren Series but it's obviously connected to a larger universe which I haven't read but still was able to follow Ren's story
POV: Ren
Steam Level: Clean
4/5

Unlike some stories Ren did not suck me in the from the beginning. It took me a while to get into this story and enjoy the character. Overall I'm glad I listened to this story in the box set rather than individually and I wouldn't be opposed to reading other stories featuring the other dream travelers. I enjoyed how Ren's character evolved while still maintaining his true characteristics. I'm glad I gave the story a chance.

I received this audiobook for free from the author. This is my honest and voluntary review.

Love Ren!!

Smug, cynical, and a complete ass, Ren tries to walk the world on his terms. Unfortunately for him, the world doesn't always bend to his will. A flawed...though don't tell him, character I just love!!

Great series.

I’m glad I gave this series a try. I love complete box sets. It’s great, especially when you just have to use 1 credit for the complete series!
The first book is a bit slow but the narrator was good so I kept listening. I’m glad I gave it a try because once the story picked up it was good.

Brilliant set of stories

This is a truly amazing set of books detailing the life of Ren Lewis, a dream traveller and strategist who was born with some amazingly powerful gifts that are as much a curse as they are a gift. It shows us what made him the sarcastic, arrogant, abrasive, loyal, apathetic, and yet totally appealing, character that he is. At the same time the author draws the listener into the fascinating world of Dream Traveller society; a world full of thrilling danger, action, innovation and gifted, unique individuals. The evolution of the various characters, the humour, heartbreak, intrigue and suspense will keep you absorbed until the very end. It is a heart wrenching, hair pulling, breath taking series with many twists and turns in the various plots. The growth and change in the characters, and the roller coaster of emotions the author takes you on is simply mesmerizing.
The narrator fits Ren’s character to a tee. His excellent British accent, nuances and the deep, sexy baritone of Tim Campbell's voice portrays Ren perfectly. He brings the character to life and reveals that underlying sexiness that is so appealing in this character. As a narrator, Tim Campbell is the master of accents, flowing seamlessly from one to another, no matter if the character is male or female. He seems to do all the voices equally well.
Ren is one of those characters that feels totally real to you and he stays in your head long after the book is finished. His caustic wit, arrogance, dry sarcastic comments, brilliant mind and flawed personality has kept us laughing, made you want to strangle him, but has also caused our hearts to bleed. The amount of emotion that this character and these stories have been able to elicit from readers is a testament to how well written these books are and how fully developed this character is. Not only is there great characters but the storylines in each book are amazing. I am sad that this series is ended and that I will no longer get to hear that snarky British accent as I listen to Sarah's future books.

Listen to this collection first

I wish I would have listened to this one before the Lucidite series. Now I’m going to listen to that one again. Love both Collections. Highly recommend them both.

Ren ❤️

Huge fan of Ren. The fact that Sarah has written him to be such an unlikable character is why I love this series so much. I listen to audiobooks at work and there were plenty of times Ren had me laughing and snorting. Coworkers and customers looked at me like I was a crazy person. I loved it! Recommend. I was given a free copy of this audiobook and now leaving this honest review.
