Victory Over the Darkness emphasizes the importance of believing and internalizing the cardinal truths of Scripture as a base from which to renew the mind and fend off Satan's relentless attempt to convince us that we are less than Christ empowers us to be.

This book is a wonderful book introducing the Steps to Freedom in Christ. Neil Anderson narrated his own book so you definately know what the author was expressing during the writings. I recommend this book to anyone struggling with circumstances and life in general. This book will explain why and how these feelings rise in someone and how to regain the peace and faith in God.
I was educated into oblivion but have overcome and am having a wonderful life
I've listened twice and I expect to listen a few more times shortly. Why? Well, something in the telling of it really brought home that I don't need to try to be what I already am: God's child. Hallelujah!
the best tagline for this book: For God's Children: Stop trying to be what you already are
I read the paperback first but my sister was have trouble making time to read the book. So we got this audio download. Loved it. It followed the book closely and I did not feel like there was much skipped from the book in the audio though it is listed as abridged.
Enjoyed hearing Truth. Made my heart sing.
Neil read it in a conversational tone. That made it easy to listen to, even in one seating.
Retired bookkeeper, married, Mom of 2, two granddaughters. Love cozy mysteries.
I have this book in paperback, so this audio is a review for me. It was comforting and renewing to internalize again. In a conversational tone, (with a few chuckles along the way), Dr. Anderson reminds you WHO YOU ARE in Christ, which enables you to "fight the good fight". It's like having him sitting in your living room with you or having a cup of coffee with him at your dining room table. I recommend it to all Christians. After reading this book the first time, I had an online conversation with a sister who obviously had not heard these things at her church. In the course of the conversation, she commented, "well who do you think I am, some princess, or something?" My answer was, "not in and of yourself, but by virtue of who you are in Christ, yes, you are a princess". Some of the chapter titles: "Who are you?" "Forever different" "See Yourself for Who You Really Are" "Something Old, Something New" "Becoming the Spiritual Person You Want to Be" "The Power of Positive Believing" "You Can't Live Beyond What You Believe" "Winning the Battle for Your Mind" "Healing Emotional Wounds from Your Past".
This is not a book on spiritual warfare, per se, but if it interests you, he has written "The Bondage Breaker" and "The Beginner's Guide to Spiritual Warfare", among others.
Listened to it in the car and it is amazing how much Jesus loves us and how precious we are to Him. Changed my entire outlook on victory in Christ!
once you realize that your true identity in Christ it is key to your victory over the darkness. once we as Christians really get this internalize it would begin to walk in the calling that God has for us and overcome all obstacles to the glory of God.
Neil Anderson takes years of wisdom, experience, and revelation and combines them into an easy to understand guide to walking in the freedom of Christ. This is a book you read and re-read periodically throughout your Christian walk. It's must read for both the new believer and long time struggler.
The author/narrator's comedic presentation prevents the seriousness of the message to shine through. I'm not sure it's possible to take it seriously. I was a bit disappointed.
great book, ...What there was of it. I would have liked to hear some details about doing spiritual battle. this felt like a set up to that. maybe he has another book that delves a little deeper? or maybe the deeper dive was left out of the abridged version?
"A must listen to every christian."
I was surprised by the simplicity and clarity of this book. I would absolute recomend to read to every christian that would like to improve his inner life with God and people.
"A must read / listen for anyone."
Just read it or listen, you choose. Its a great book with real wisdom and practical guidance.
